- Dodge just announced the details for their all new 2025 Charger Daytona EV and their 2025 Charger Six Pack. I give you all the details on these brand new offerings and let you know what I think. The 2025 Charger Daytona Scatpack will boast 2 electric motors making 670 all wheel drive horsepower and the RT version will make 496 (11 more than today's scatpack). The Hurricane inline six cylinder twin turbo version from the Six Pack will make 550hp in it's high output form. What do you think of the brand new charger. Will these cars be a success or a major failure?

A muscle car isn’t just speed. It’s feel, it’s rumble, it guttural. This is a Powerwheels toy from Walmart
Facts!!!!
Get with it maaaan 😁 That was the old days maaaan - now it is the silent joy of being pushed back in your seat, tears streaming backward out of your eyes as you feel your stool working it's way out of your anus due to the insane acceleration. LOL
Everybody high fiving each other as they get out from a test run, "Man did you fill your shorts also?", "Hell yah I did!"

It's amazing how hard someone will try to sell u something you don't want or never asked for.
Seems that way with all the 2023 Challengers and Chargers rusting in peace on dealer lots! How is your Hemi car resale value doing? Bet it goes way down!
For those of us that can't afford to pay $60k+ for a vehicle anything that will reduce the cost of ownership will be welcome. What I'm waiting for is when someone with the 420 HP gas version is complaining that their cost of ownership is double to triple that of someone with the 670 HP electric version.

Who are their customers though? Sure, a lot of car enthusiasts. But most Dodge Challenger owners are just people who wanted a cool car and got the Challenger SXT. So I don't think the new Charger's going to bomb. It's a good looking car that's both available as a EV AND a ICE vehicle. I'm sure it will do just fine as long as it's priced right.

A lot of people fail to realize how expensive tires will be on this car. 305F/325R tires are not small by any means, then add AWD, plus calculating in the weight of this car (estimated over 5,800lbs) is going to put a dent in a lot of wallets. Being staggared, you won't be able to rotate tires and just the shear weight of the car will eat them alive. Plus, plan on paying more in taxes (depending on your state) due the weight of this vehicle. To put it in perspective, a 2023 Widebody Hellcat Charger is 4,586lbs....
I don't think anyone buying a dedicated drag car is worried about tire prices lol

And I’m sure they could have got the guys from FF1 too. They could call the i6 a buster. “The buster keeps us on the streets!” Missed opportunity.
The ice models might not bomb, but the evs will.
I agree, I actually like the SixPack Charger.
How do you get the race fuel smell?
Dodge didn't learn anything from Ford with there Mach E
I currently own a Challenger and I’m not able to purchase any EV because I live in a condo and the HOA has not provisions for an electric car charging station. Besides that, I don’t want an EV. I’ve been paying attention to how the dealerships have been gouging customers as well and that makes me really stay far away from dealers that do that.
What don’t people understand. The regulations and the amount of money they were paying for credits is unsustainable. Blame regulators not Dodge.
You got that right. People need to educate themselves on why this is happening.
Cow tows! Doesn't Ford have the same regulators. There not cow towin to regulations.
They have made billions quarterly and at the same time raised the pricing on Challenger/Chargers....the 10k line per v8 has already been assessed on the consumer......people still paid for what they wanted. This is the end of Dodge.
They have one car that they were barely selling before the new model, all their trucks are turbos or EV, and they have the Mach E, so yes, they can keep one V8. Dodge sells far fewer vehicles then Ford does. If you don't like it, go tell your congressman, because they just ramped up the MPG requirements again. 49mpg fleet average by 2024. My scat pack was getting 11mpg or worse most of the time. Great car, not sustainable for Dodge. If they didn't try to change, they would be gone anyway.
@@TorridDesign , how was your scat pack doing so poorly? My 2016 got better than 20 mpg all day every day, and more like 24 on the highways.
The key point is pricing. If Dodge and it’s dealerships continue overpricing. It will not help sells. Not everyone can afford six figure vehicles.
Exactly the absolute only way this works is if they can get the price point down cause your selling something no one wants and basically everyone is getting forced in to this so it’s pretty much pick your brand of electric and v6 or In line 6 in this case car
Here's my price prediction: R/T 49,999, Scat Pack 69,999, Banshee 99,999, 6Pack 39,999, all starting prices.
Add $20,000.00 to each of the electric is what I’m thinking. Then add $35,000.00 to the twin turbo. All way beyond what I would to pay for a car.

Not everyone needs Hellcat power. Why not keep at least the 5.7 and sup it up some for enthusiasts and do the turbos and EV to go after track times? I'm not even in the market for one of these cars. Any news regarding the pentastar v6? Things sre gett8ng way out of hand cost wise for base models.
Dodge if you want to get people excited about this new car then have the car available, not a video with the car coming up in 29 months
It appears that the availability of an electric or non-electric car is not a significant factor in the decision-making process for potential buyers. The overall product offering seems to be underwhelming, leading to a lack of interest in purchasing the car from Dodge. Customers may opt to seek alternative options that better meet their needs and preferences from other sources.
Are we going to be able to buy performance parts from Mr Coffee, speed queen and General electric? I don't know whether to cry or laugh, but I know one thing for certain, very disappointed because of no V8 option.
I don’t see many asking about how long these batteries last and how much are they to be replaced? I will say I’m actually very impressed, it looks great and it’s fast, and could sound great, I’m actually interested but I love my scat.
One other question, how much variation is there on range (i.e. battery discharge) due to weather and driving vs. something that is powered by liquid fuel?
You already know the answer - avoid cold weather if you expect good range.

The only EV I would consider today is a Tesla, since Elon essentially invented the technology that all the bandwagon manufacturers copied.

@@goodinsrt8 Is this you Tim...lol
Imagine believing Elon invented EVs…
They’ve been around as long as Detroit you wet noodle. By 1918 about 38% of the cars on the road were electric. I don’t care for EVs, much preferring ICE, but being ignorant is a shame.
Elon didn’t even found Tesla, he just bought it out from actual founders, Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. His only personal accomplishments in life are spending daddy’s emerald mine money on PayPal when it was new. Then buying Tesla. Then bankrolling SpaceX and Nueralink. His whole life he’s been nothing more than the bankroll, and that’s easy when you’re born into vast wealth. His actual personal contributions end at money and marketing.
I have bought a lot od chrysler products over the years. I currently have 3 chargers (66-09), 19 redeye challenger, 06 Ram 3500, 07 pacifica, and 23 jeep grand cherokee. 4 are Hemis. 1 gen 2 and 3 gen 3s. Some are my wifes but i bought them all.
I will concede that these cars will be quick. Electric motors have infinite torque at zero rpm. But that curve drops fast. So qtr mile or zero to 60 these will be quick. But when you use that it will burn the juice ( or coal - since that is how most of the juice is created). These wont have much range on a charge. Hope i am wrong. I need chrysler to stay in buisiness so i can buy parts. Lol.
But the reason i wont ever be buying a new chrysler product isn't about the EVs it is about how my dealer decided to to work me over on my attemp to buy a last call car. After i gave up on him the rest of the dealers were even worse. So you didnt see a last call car on that list. That said my dailey driver is a 96 buick. My next car will probably be a vet. I never thought i would say that outloud.
I will never buy an ev. This move to electric isnt about anything but changing how amaercans identify.
Great channel racer x. Keep the news coming. Hope the stage kits come for the EVs. Im still waiting to buy my sage 3 kit they promised us for my redeye.
Putting that bumble bee on an electric car is ludicrous. They should be forced to put an electric eel on it.
Or just put a dinosaur on it. That's what Dodge will be in a few years.
So no manual transmission option for the hurricane?
Was the weight ever mentioned on the Hurricane version?
Any ideas on the curb weight on the ICE variant? Hopefully they slimmed down the weight from previous generations.
At 121" wheelbase and over 200" long, this is a big car. Don't expect it to be lightweight. At all.
Can we drop some links to the new videos in the details for this one?
Love the look....reminds me of my 70 charger 500 body style.
The faster than a redeye claim needs to have a giant asterisks next to it until they prove it. My take is that they mean on an unprepped surface because a stock redeye with traction is an animal and runs 10s in the 1/4 (10.937@130.2 for a bone stock car on stock tire)
Not faster.. it will accelerate faster then It does. 11.5 in the quarter mile with a top speed of 138. Specs for the cars are out on Dodge
@@williamrose7818 those numbers are as slow as the Durango and no where near the redeye unless we use car and driver/motortrend results. 🤔
I'd say for the ev's case ,it's slow, but the I6 will be another story. Considering there will be a big weight difference between the ev and gas, car may weight as much as the 5.7L charger while weighting less than hellcats, because keep in mind, the V6 awd charger in itself weights atleast 4200lbs at best, and the I6 weights about 100lbs more almost than the V6 bit weights less than all of dodges V8s so it could sit within the 42-4300lb range at best. That practically means that the Sixpack are very capable of pulling low 11s similarly to the G80 m3s(despite the weight differences, they still come with more power from factory tho).
Of course it will be faster than a Redeye, it’s electric. Plus, bragging when they revved that V6 was embarrassing.
It's not a V6, it's a Inline 6 cylinder.
What's the miles between charges how long does it hold up in winter conditions
317 miles on the RT and 260ish on the Scat Pack.
A lot to unpack here first the ev rt 0-60 4.7 will be getting dragged by the current 392’s, also the ev scat 1/4 mile 11.5 just a little better than a 1320. Nobody’s talking about there nearly 6k lbs crub weight. Power to weight lives yesterday, today and tomorrow.
You can make a dog sound like a goat, but it’s still a dog. Part of owning a muscle car is the ability to work on it, the ability to buy aftermarket parts to make it go faster. This vehicle will also take away skills, meaning as a young man. Buying my first hot rod means I would have to work on it and learn how to work on it. Once you know, tools, and how a system works it relates to other skills that might relate to what you learned by working on a car. What is plugging in a car teaching?
Also, my fear of everything being electrical is the government will have more power to shut down your vehicle when they don’t want you driving it. You might think that sounds silly, but does it really?
very depressing reading this coment, you're 1000% correct though.
hurricane v6 engine black carguru literally called it😂 im excited honestly
Inline-6 not a v6
Not a V6.
That high output might put you in the bmw turbo class
@@lafosh7234It's gonna sound just like a BMW too
@@BadgerM6 bmw sounds amazing…especially the new ones with the crisp pops and gurgling
Thank you Dodge, but I'll stick with my gasoline muscle 💪🏾.
I love how that new charger looks so much more like the general Lee style charger and it's a two door just like the original
I want the Sixpack version. That engine sounds surprisingly good in the Ram trucks. It should be fun in the cars. The base model NEEDS to start in the 40K range to get attention. If they price it too high it'll be DOA.
I'll believe that it's faster than a Hellcat when I see it in action. The damn thing weighs close to 6000 lbs and has a top speed of 134 mph. Power to weight ratio is a thing. a 3.3 second 0-60 is impressive but that seems like it's all it has going for it. At this point, it seems like the 6-pack is going to put out better performance than the EV.
Great video, thank you! I think, Dodge again redefined the whole concept of the car and style.
Dodge can try to act like they’re muscle car rebels but at the end of the day they’ve still killed off some of the best selling and coolest cars on the road and contributed to cars becoming soulless appliances
Any range info on those electrics? I'd be more interested if there was a non plug-in hybrid option. This is kind of a all or nothing approach. Great video,
What will be the electric range on these cars?
So many pro's & con's of the new Charger. PRO'S: It will come w the Hurricane I6, which, while I will miss the V8's, the I6 will be lighter & more powerful than the 392, better balanced/smoother running & will allow the weight to be more behind the front wheels for better balance, Other than the slightly rounded front end, I love the looks - little bit of 2nd Gen Charger/2nd Gen Cuda while the interior looks very clean. Love the different Drag & Track modes the Scat Packs will come with. Like that they are going with wider tires than the current wide bodies (which the first gen Hellcats desperately needed). Also love the fact that Dodge listened to all the things that people HATE about EVs & tried to design solutions to them - such as no engine noise, no shift points, etc.. CON's: 260 mile range on the EV (vs 400 on Teslas) & 27 min on a fast charger to get from 20% charge to 80% charge (or 8.1mi range per minute of charge) is not very impressive. Top speed on the EV of 134mph is also very disappointing. If you're going to build in racing modes & put Goodyear F1's on it, let the damn thing stretch it's legs. I mean, it's not as bad as the new Demon 170 being limited to 149mph due to the tires & no way to unlock the ECU w/out voiding the warranty (which is CRIMINAL! - good luck running Texas Mile), but still. Hopefully this is a limitation for tires or something & not a limit due to battery cooling or motors. All in all, with all the different modes it has built in, this is more of a performance based "hooligan" built mainly to appease the government regulation while still giving you many "Smiles per Gallon" (or Volt as the case may be). Not bad, but was hoping for a little more. Biggest thing is going to be longevity. Hellcats are pretty bullet proof w cars well over 100k mies. Time will tell if the Hurricanes or EVs will hold up.
