Last time I used the commodity trick I had the same thing happen with some of the loot. I also had so much loot that the skins were bugged, the chest of legends and the chest of fortune looked like regular chests, and my ammo boxes looked like fruit crates, among other discrepancies.
Actually the loot changing appearance is for performance reasons
Why bother loading all this stuff when a wood chest is easier to show for example

Warning!! Don’t use harpoon boats with lots of loot use it with tiny amounts of loot it will glitch out if too much loot ( I don’t know how much) but this also happened to bardcore

The loot can’t glitch in the stairs so when u destroy it on the stairs it’s can’t glitch

that rowboat's loot bug happened to me a few days ago, one of you have to disconnect and re-enter the server, after that the person who reconnects will see the loot (sorry for my bad english)

Toxie, just an fyi, this looks very similar to a glitch I experienced not to long ago a few days or couple weeks before season 9 launched: we went on our non cap brig to DaggerTooth Outpost and with the same strategy, we brought the rowey next to gold hoarder's rep, destroyed it and ALL our loot was gone. After tinkering for a while, we realized about the same glimmerish shine where our loot was supposed to be, and it was until much later we discovered you can "bury" the treasure and then immediately proceed to dig it out so it would bring it back to the surface. It was a excruciatingly long process but we finally managed to recover everything and sell it. I know it wouldnt have applied to your specific case but hope this is useful in the future.

If you tried to harpoon the glowy stuff from the reaper tent it might've pulled the loot to you. I've had this happen a few times. Glowy part somewhere and the chest modelt is somewhere else under it.

I had a similar issue with a rowboat before the my treasure just seemed to disappear, luckily I realized that although I couldn't pick it up or see it I could bury and unbury the treasure that disappear to make it appear again
Dunno if anyone has said it but the loot despawning is more likely if the loot isnt like dead center of the rowboat. At least from my experience it also helps to keep the boat away from the elevator in the center.
Im in no way saying it has to work, but from experience I can say it should help.

I just had a similar glitch where someone let their ship despawn with chests on it. The chests were in the water next to the starting dock but the sparkle was on my ship or floatingin the air where my ship happened to be. I couldn't interact with the sparkle effect or the chest.

Did this yesterday with double reward active. We started on a brig, got 5 ritual skulls in a fleet and then got one of these. 6 stacked fotd in 4 hours including preparation and selling
from my experience if you can see the glint of the item, you can harpoon it, even if the item “isn’t there”. happened with a captain’s key for me earlier. completely invisible item cannot pick it up, but i could see the glint and harpooning it brought it back into existence

If u want to speed less dubloons you can buy 1 skull od destiny and only using it to light up the flames and to activate the fort you can use ritual skulls
Recently got one that me and my crew used along with 8 ritual skulls we dug up, got from skele ships, not to mention the ashen chests. We got up to 6 before we had to leave cause the promise of loot and people chasing us, and of course it was LATE.

I've been running these since they came out. Last time I did I only stacked 4 and then had a 2hr fight with some kids who ended up toggling and tried to knock us off the server
Just for everyone, I tested it, and for a duo, all you need is six normal kegs to kill the boss in one shot

Loot has been clipping through floors a lot this season, with the amount of bugs and weird server lag this game has i'm not suprised that some loot just despawns

oh he was so lovely! we actually had a 7th chest of legends (unrelated we stole it before stacking fotd) and decided to give it to him as I was looking to sell only the fotd loot for the video

I lost a complete 7 stack fotd to the rowboat glitch. Got it onto the stairs next to the servant, broke it and all the loot spawned under the ground we could see the reaper chests and a shimmer when standing further Away.

Ouch... the more you stack, the more shit goes wrong. Often got to remind my buddy of this, he LOVES to TRY and stack, but he has emissary up the whole time, puts every explosive keg he can find on the ship, sucks at pvp, and is generally a terrible pirate.
We'll sail RIGHT past a port and he'll refuse to sell. About five minutes later.... you bet we gonna get Krakened in sight of an alliance of bloodthirsty PvP lords.
yea so, the elevator at reapers hideout is very buggy. once when i was selling loot like normal i was loot sprinting with a treasure chest and when i walked over the elevator, it just dropped through..
ive also seen instances of players simply falling through the elevator. its like theres no collision hitbox half the time, very strange

Any treasure that has been picked up and dropped again will despawn if left untouched If the loot is dropped on land however it stays there as long as possible approximately 2 hours

at 6:50 when the chest of legends left it reminded me of something that happened to me today. i was taking a bunch of athena loot the the stranger in the tavern and i placed the chest of legends down just for it to fall down into the stairs that lead into the pirate legend hideout and it was stuck under the stairs lol

The Problem was the row boat with the harpoon 😅 on a other spot it defiantly would work properly
tip: If barrel stacking loot make sure to refresh or sell every 5 clears, it will despawn loot if it sits for too long off your ship.

that island flooding glitch has been a thing since launch and it happened to me once when i was fighting a galleon on golden sands it was hilarious

you can actually light the lanterns with the skull but put a ritual skull in the cage, because they are a lot easier to get :D

Once had one on my boat and got attacked by some people. one of them Boarded me and saw the skull, took it and yelled ”HE HAS THE FUNNI SKULL” straight into the mic

Well even if you're not reaper 5 everyone can spot the giant skull in the sky spawning again and again so maybe to much risk to just dont show your boat has a reaper
Have you tried visiting the ferry of the damned after it happened? Maybe it would have fixed it.
The chests despawning is a super annoying bug, it happened to me once and then it happened again a diff time so idk what the deal is bro haha
also i keep having bad luck with my keg walls like 7-10 times it explodes to early as a chain reaction from a keg skelly xD so sad
I havnt been able to do a FOTD once for the past month always get attacked by reaper alliances. And I dont really see much looking for posts so I just gave up on trying.

Big flaw with using the fort of the damned vault to stack. If a superior skilled crew or larger crew show up and take your ship out and you and if they finish the fort they're gonna find a HOARD of treasure.
It’s so easy to do fotd now that the voyage for the skull is free

You have to touch the loot every so often or it despawns

How do you let so many ships sneak up on you? You can see through the fog when at the fort and it’s a high vantage point.

at the end you should've harpooned the loot

Perhaps would have e it been possible to retrieve the loot with another row boat harpoon?? But that is being Rare'd. I believe the skull of destiny should he a little harder to get than just sailing a good distance. What do you all think?

Well there is probably a Maximum of loot a Server can Spawn, you werent seeing a Glitch ITS Just the Server saving itself from crashing

Last time the same glich happend to me and my friends. We saw the loot and luckily we had a chest of madness (idk how its called in englisch bc I am german) and I hit. IT WAS STILL THERE JUST INVISIBEL. So we stuck our briggetin on the Island and tryed to grab the things with the harpoon and guess what IT WORKED. Unlucky our ship despawned. I drove the ship back to the outpost at the same time a slopp was there to. The people we met were German so it was ez to communiced. So we stucked there boot (bc it was smaller) on the island and they got all our stuff back. (=

Your not wrong about fotd but you need too remember it also spawns a big ah skull in the sky and shows everyone in the server that your doing or stacking fotd

You could also raise your grade with reapers by sinking some Skele ships, Killing Kraken or Meg. as any loot that you harpoon and not touch can be used to get an grade 5 with Reapers. another way to go Stealth reaper.
the idea was to be invisible and have our reaper flags raised for as short as possible though
