just found out that both passenger side speakers are shot on my '13. How much of a difference in sound quality are these Polks in comparison to the OEM's (specifically bass)
Total night and day. Now keep in mind if your still running off stock head unit, the speaker is thicker and more rigid. It will take a bit for the speaker to break in since it's not cheesy paper cone. The true bass response of the speaker will never be seen with stock head unit though. But to answer your question. Huge difference all the way around. I'd just make sure you have the eq off through the secret radio menu
What kind of mounting bracket did you get that would allow for 4-screw speakers to mount to the triangle mount? want to replace the speakers on my CrossTrek but need the mounting bracket
would the Metra 82-8901 Speaker Mounting Brackets from crutchfield be able to do the same? Mostly a matter of getting all the screws aligned without having to drill holes into my car door like another source is suggesting lol
Kevin Blackley Did that Metra bracket work for you? I’m looking for brackets for all 4speakers on ‘14 Impreza hatch. I was looking at this - www.iaperformance.com/product_info.php?products_id=1482
how much better does the frequency response sound? Stock deck? I've been missing alot of the lows from the stock speakers, but don't want to upgrade the radio.
Thanks Dave, I was looking for the same thing! Just threw new speakers into mine last night. I just pulled the speaker wires back into the door and fished them down behind the speaker. Great tutorial
Mike H the nice part was the Marine rating and the RMS and db rating.thr Marine rating in particular was important to me because if the moisture and water that works into the door. honestly, I'd pick them up from another site. Google found them for $50+10 shipping a pair, brand new just now. either splice and hard wire to hr speakers from the stock wires or pick up the adapter for $10/pair from.crutchfield. that's $70/pair.
Awesome - thanks for making this! Very helpful.
Dude .. you are awesomeee ...!!!!
glad it worked for you.

Chip Baumberger way better then stock, but the head unit lacks power to really drive the lows. I'm adding a speaker level mini amp next week.

Did u disconnect car battery first?
Keyop68 nope
Dave Conner thanks for quick reply I get my speakers Tuesday and didn’t want to have to re sync phone etc Bluetooth after disconnecting battery.👍
Not available on crutchfield's website. Bummer.
Mike H too bad. replacing on your Subaru?
Dave Conner yes sir! 13 Impreza. Your video is great! Also gonna replace the dashboard tweeters too.
Are you staying with the stock system? If so, you'll want to make sure you find something rated with lowwr rms.
Dave Conner stock head unit? Yes. I won't be replacing that. Just the front door speakers and the dash tweeters. Recommend any other speakers?

@@rio9999 Thats weird 2012 wrx hatch looks way better and way different
@@christianc2809 Ah - not a wrx.
@@roar_tcnj6944 Yeah learn something new everyday. Makes sense why they stopped calling the wrx an "impreza wrx".
original speakers is a joke
Totally agree
