This is the most helpful video I’ve seen but I couldn’t tell if you took out the storage tray below in order to pull the bottom of the plastic frame out. I already disconnected my rods but have significant tension at the bottom of the frame.
Left knob for vent selection goes to the passenger side. Right knob for temp goes to drivers side. They cross each other and are a major pain in the ass to replace when they break.
You could tying a string to the wire sheathing, pulling them through, and then tie those strings to the new wire and pull them back maybe. Not sure if that reads coherently but i'm about to try it.
@@quietpianist The wires were much stiffer than I anticipated, and when I pulled them they would have lateral movement that would catch on other components. the utility of the string turned out to be the fact that I could see exactly which path I needed to guide the wire through.
great vid, but i'd like to know how to get to the knob linkage on the left side. i can't quite figure out how to get the covers off. or even if it's necessary. maybe i just don't twist the right way to see up under the dash. :)
Thank you, for taking the time to upload a video for this model year. It helped greatly!
Very helpful and allowed me to do it and save $600 over the dealer doing it.
This was EXACTLY what I needed! Thanks!
Thank you very much for the compliment.
Works on 2013 as well
This is about to work on my 2013 impreza base as well.

Just what I was going to ask ;0)

michael weber no panel is removed on the left side you just have to go under the dash and get at it.
+michael weber there is no panels to remove. You just need to get in there and you'll see it.
