Awesome video Kurt! I was 11 when this movie came out and I remember me and my dad going to the theater to watch it. Can’t believe it’s been 30 yrs. Where the hell has my life gone.
Yes! One of my favourite ever films. This film is boss! I never tire of watching it. I even got the billy hoyle nike air command force pumps that nike brought back in 2014. Woody wore them in the film. Super comfortable and they have a pump on the side that inflates the ankle/collar area.
Kurt you never ever fail when it comes to filming locations, this was bloody brilliant, I was just watching this the other day as well. Fantastic mate as always, looking forward to the next one you do
I always wondered where the location was that he was challenged to the dunk. Great work finding it and connecting it with the other movie. Amazing drone shots and commentary. Awesome work on this video!
Nobody documents these locations like you, Kurt. I come to Venice from Detroit 6x a year, and I recognize a lot of these locations but never knew..... Keep up the great work!
Crazy how some of the people who are there in the background are still in Venice like the dude at @1:17 and the dude playing guitar on skates at @1:21. Great video!
@80sLife at 16:33, behind Billy, as he's holding the basketball...in the background, is that the same neon sign you pointed out earlier? That is now on top of the Big 5 store ? Sure looks like it
Great video, love White man can't jump awsome 90s film. But couldn't help but see how hazey, or smoggy the original La landscape is. Love America 90s movies.
My Junior year of high school (1994), me and a Basketball teammate drove up to VB from San Diego to play some ball. We get there and I mentioned that these courts don't look the same as in the movie. Walked up and down the boardwalk. Now I know why we never found them.
The mural on the wall still features the same person, Harry Perry, who's a rollerskating guitarist, musician and prominent feature of the Venice boardwalk. A friend of mine who was my drummer became his drummer for a few years. I've talked with Harry and he's super cool. Still rockin and still skating.
It was one of my favorite all time movies. My favorite uncle was in town and was like let's go to the movies. My brother was like let's go see White Men can't jump. I miss the 90s 😢
The “White Men Can’t Jump Suite.” LMAO!!! That made me literally laugh out loud! I love the Jordan 3’s you were rockin’ too! I have several pairs myself. Great job on this video as always!
Amazing work. One of my all time fave films. I've never seen anyone explain where the final game was before. Didn't realise it was the same park as the tournament!! Easy sub!!!
I've seen some of videos before , and I wondered have you done this one , and low behold you have 3 weeks ago , that was good timing . Love this film , Ron Shelton pure genius..... can't believe there doing a re boot ..... Nooooo , just leave perfection be . Edit .. just watched the video. Great job , especially finding the location of the hoop he tried to dunk and sidney quoting the film title . Interesting fact the about the courts at venice actually being a parking lot . All good stuff and alot of work I'm sure . Well done . Andy from the UK
It’s insane how gentrified and expensive Venice has become. The apt Billy and Rosie Perez lived in likely rented for $400 in 1992 and now likely rents for $2000+ now.
where the neon sign is south of the boys market was holiday bowl. the front facade of the coffee shop is still there and is now starbucks. the rest of the bowling alley was torn down after the riots and is now walgreens. great video!
I love these videos. I just started following you a few days ago and I’m happy to say I clicked on this. It’s so nostalgic brings back so much memories. And the detail on point.Hats off to you and your team sir
Billy drives a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible, not too shabby, there were 10,897 made which means they're affordable if you can find one for sale. Sidney drives a 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with a T roof, same model as Burt Reynolds in Smokey & The Bandit. End of an era for the Firebird, the '82 model got a huge makeover with horrid popup headlights, that was the KITT model from Knight Rider.
OUTSTANDING job as usual Kurt. your research on locations is 2nd to none!! i LOVE Venice Beach. The best fish tacos ive EVER had are right there, Figtree Cafe! -J.s.
Great stuff. Stuck inside all day sick and found your videos. Any chance you will do the filming locations of Heat? The city really was its own character in that film.
Your work on these filming locations is impeccable.
The only better site I’ve seen is Herve Attia’s. But his seem like they take a lot of time and he doesn’t put many out. His stand by me is incredible.
Awesome video Kurt! I was 11 when this movie came out and I remember me and my dad going to the theater to watch it. Can’t believe it’s been 30 yrs. Where the hell has my life gone.

Kurt you never ever fail when it comes to filming locations, this was bloody brilliant, I was just watching this the other day as well. Fantastic mate as always, looking forward to the next one you do
I wish someone would do something similar, in England
@@JohnQPublic345 I agree here, though loads of films have been filmed here in the UK, LA Is imo is the filming location capital of the world.
