I do my own film location searches on the weekends with my teenagers and I watch ALL these type videos and yours are honestly THE BEST! People don’t realize how hard is to find these places and then track all them down - it’s a ton of work! They usually aren’t in the same area and LA is sprawling. I’ve looked for that Elevator sign at Del Amo forever because those parking lots are huge and it’s super confusing because it doesn’t look like it used to at all.
Really, really outstanding work! I’m always super impressed because you show stuff that NO ONE else shows.
FYI the Dirk Diggler house is right down the street from the Jackie Brown one - who knew they were in the same cinematic universe lol.

Great work covering these locations, man! As much as I miss the old Del Amo mall from my childhood, the place was definitely dying a slow death before the big makeover... When I was in high school, I can remember the Montgomery Ward section being a completely abandoned ghost town before it got torn down. So nostalgia aside, I'm glad they were able to breathe some new life into the mall and it seems to be alive and thriving now.

It’s always bitter sweet on your videos due to the fact the greedy contractors tear down most of the historical places in LA and filming locations. I want to also add that you are a crime scene investigator version of filming locations! You have such a good eye and you really exam the scenes/locations in the movies. Thank you for getting out there and dissecting this for us. When you get a chance can you please look in the Sunset Strip 1985? This one may be sort of interesting 🧐 🤔

As far as Sid Haig he doesn't have a big role in any Tarantino film he appears in and I believe it's only Jackie Brown as the Judge and Kill Bill 2 as the bartender at the strip bar that Michael Madsens character Budd works at. Sid Haig was actually considered for Marcelleus Wallace in Pulp Fiction which I can see working.

I heard the old Taco Bell buildings were protected by the historical society, interesting that one was a knock down. The shopping center Jackie is driving by with the Office Depot was called The Old Time Mall. I haven't been to Del Amo mall in a while I didn't know about the renovations. I must say when Jackson no longer has his hair ponytailed and it's just long he looks scary every moment til the time Keaton shoots and kills him and the camera shows Jackson dead on the floor looking up at the camera.

This was great! Thank you! Jackie Brown is my favorite Tarantino film. You missed one location though- Simone’s house where Ordell opens the trunk and shows Beaumont’s dead body to Louis.

Great. What I find fascinating is that 25 years (at the time of this video) after filming the movie so much has completely changed. With most movies filmed anywhere in Europe much would likely have changed very little. The transient nature of most things American is astonishing.

I was in summer school when they filmed that movie. I sat and ate at El Taco Charro while they filmed the part when they (Robert Deniro & Samuel Jackson) arrive at the bail bonds place. They must of shot it at least like 8 times.

I did some electrical work at the Opp street location in Wilmington. This was an experience, this took place about four years after the movie came out. The house was extremely ran down and filthy. The owner had not paid the electricity bill and the power was tuned off for about eight months. He had ten dogs living there and one of them knocked over a candle that started a small fire, which did some damage to the back bedroom and part of the bathroom. I was called in by a real estate agent I did a few jobs for, he had to pay the electricity bill so we could assess the electrical damage. Upon entering the house for the first time I immediately took the Dracula pose (covering my face with the inside of my elbow) in the attempt to ward off the odor. I'll spare you the rest of what I saw, but lets just say Quentin could have returned and filmed a horror movie. It was a difficult job due to the conditions and upon leaving there were only seven dogs left, three had died within a week.

Man, I love the look and feel of Jackie Brown. I've watched this Tarantino movie more than any of them - just because of how sunny and beautiful California looks - even in the night scenes. Every scene just radiates a warm feeling - to me. I'd just graduated High School when this came out, and me and my friends went from band practice, smoked a joint on the way, and finally saw the follow up to Pulp Fiction. It's one of those days I remember exactly as it happened. I was 18 at the time, so watching Robert De Niro smoke pot was just nuts. The mall, Sam Goody's, the phones - the soundtrack. This movie takes me to a special place. This was awesome man. Thank you for this. I'm watching Jackie Brown again tonight.

The women's jail was called The Sybil Brand Institute. The L.A. County primary female correctional facility until it closed in 1997. It main use currently is not a warehouse but as a film location. It's used as a film location at a rate almost 3 times a week. Currently the county and sheriff's department are working out plans to renovate the facility for future use as a working jail once again.
