License to drive has always been one of my favorites People who haven’t seen it probably think it’s a lame 2 Coreys movie but it’s actually a really funny 80s comedy adventure. “Les! It’s me Papa!” 😃😂😅
@@dirtyglovekennels616 Think he means that people not familiar with the film may think of it as just another lame film starring the 2 Corey's (Haim and Feldman) that were so popular in the late 80's.
I actually went to Walter Reed Middle School back in'97. And I remember when they were filming Good Burger just a few blocks away from the school. A few friends and I passed by the film location when walking home. I also used to live close to the Baxter st hill in the early 90s. Off Lakeshore dr. We used to take the 2 freeway often and pass by that street. Back to Walter Reed, they used to film the outside of the school often and I believe the show 7th Heaven used it as the outside of the school. Love this flick myself as well. By the way, nice Thrilla Shirt!
That's right I remember seeing it the drive in when it first opened wow I Love this all time greatest classic movie I'm a big fan of Corey Feldman and Corey Haim I'm a 1980s kid I miss the classic 80s for ever ice Man south central la
What an incredible documentation of these locations. I'll never get to visit them myself but I had a tumultuous childhood where movies were my only friend and I watched this movie 2 or 3 times a week for years. Thank you for this!
License to drive is the most classic movie of all time I have this VCR tape I had it since the 90s I can’t get enough of this movie you did a good job on the locations
License to Drive is easily one of my favorite 80's movies along with Mannequin, Weekend at Bernies, Like Father Like Son, Money Pit, and about 30 other titles I don't have room to type. I love the 80's 👍 "WES ITS ME PAPA!" So glad you put that in the video 🤣🤣
Great 80s flick. Saw this with friends in Westwood in ye olden days. This is the kind of film that really matters to you at that age, not the big blockbusters. It's the kind of film you can relate to. The following year I learned to drive and this film often came to mind. It resonated. I still love it.
Great job finding locations. If I lived in California this is what I would be doing. License to Drive is still hilarious, holds up great. One of my favorites.
Really enjoyed this new updated version! Out of all the location videos you have done, this movie has the most locations that are still intact. This was great fun. This film makes me remember how exciting childhood once was. Heather Graham was damn hot in this 🥵 Also it’s so sad how Corey Haim suffered through the years. I will always love this movie.
This movie is so underrated it's criminal! One of my favs and you nailed it.. 100%! And all of us in our 40's know the name "Mercedes Lane".. real ones know! Great job Kurt this was amazing I have no idea how I never came across this on your channel before.
Thank you so much for posting this!! This was one of many movies my brother and I were obsessed with in the late 80's/early 90's. Me, because I thought the Corey's were cute. And him, because he loved the "action scenes." We watched it over and over and over. (He was 6 and I was a preteen, so cut us some slack! Lol.) At any rate, I randomly found it on TV tonight and decided to watch it for nostalgia sake. I hadn't seen a scene of this movie in over 30 years! Imagine my complete and utter surprise during the reverse car driving scene, because I knew instantly where the location was!! I quickly jumped on the internet and your video confirmed it for me. The building where I work today is on that street! I pass all of those buildings everyday. Yes, I live in Los Angeles now, so something like this is bound to happen, but this completely blows my mind and now I will think of this movie everyday when I go to work. LOL! And, I can't wait to tell my brother!
The chase with the drunk was the most hilarious part of the whole movie. The Frank Sinatra music made it even funnier. Even though I really hated seeing that beautiful Cadillac get destroyed, that was the most I ever laughed at a car chase.
License to drive is easily in my top 5 favorite movies growing up! It's my favorite Corey Haim film for sure! Every element about That movie is hilarious! I don't care who you are! Don't make em like this anymore unfortunately..... R.I.P. -Corey Haim-💐 I'm diggin the content man! Keep it up! 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Great film. I was a big fan of the two Corey's as a kid growing up in the 80's. Haven't seen it in a long time though. I think I'll check on UA-cam while I'm here and see if someone has uploaded it. Great job bro. 👍
The amount of effort, research, and editing is evident in your videos. That's why I'm subscribed. I'm 49 and boy do I miss the 80's. I for one VERY much appreciate the work you put in. Unrelated but another favorite two Corey's movie = Did they ever develop (tear down) grandpa's house from Lost Boys? How far is it from you?
Thank you! I really put a lot into this one. I always put a lot, but a little more on this one. Lost Boys is another one of my all time favorites. His house is still standing. I will of course eventually do a video on it. It's about 6 hours away
I watched this movie over and over again when I was 15 in anticipation of getting my drivers license. One of my all time favorites! Your videos are awesome, subbed.
Hi Kurt! thank you so much for creating this channel! I love it! I've gone down the rabbit hole with watching all your videos especially your filming location. Absolutely amazing how those houses have gone virtually unchanged in more than 35 years good video and one of my favorite 80's movies. I know you tend to only do locations of movies in California but one of my all-time 80's movies is "The Wraith" Filmed on location in Arizona i would love to see one of you location videos from the wraith.
My all time favorite Corey Haim movie! I didn’t get to see it in the theaters but when it came out on VHS 2 days before Christmas 88 my brother rented it so I could watch it. I love your videos man. I'm 36 but we have identical tastes. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned to you a million times in your videos or not, but you have an almost identical voice to Norm Macdonald. Which is awesome, but i'm sure you've been told that before. Anyway keep up the great videos.
Ah yes. The late 80s. When you could go to the video shop and there's always be a new movie to watch. The first time I saw License to Drive was when a kid from school had a sleep birthday. We watched Police Academy 3 which was on TV. And then the host whipped out License to Drive on VHS. I'd not heard of it before. But it was typical of 80s teen comedies - It was great in every way.
