So Spider-man Across The Spider-verse has some amazing cameos in it.

There's one in here that completely blew my mind. Throughout this video, I will be going through everyone who cameos in the film and talking about how deeply layered some of the easter eggs are.
This video won't be going through every spider-man who appears in the film and if you wanna watch that then we've done a full breakdown on it linked here. Instead this is the big name actors that go beyond just the suits and things from the comics.
I can't wait to get into it and if this is your first time here, I'm your host Paul aka your friendly neighbourhood spoiler-man. 2:21, the newspaper is actually a piece from the Lego set 4855 "Spider-Man's Train Rescue" from 2004. That set was a recreation of the runaway subway scene from the Spider-Man 2 Sam Raimi movie.
The Lego scene was created by a 14 yr old. Actually impressive

That Donald Glover cameo has so many layers to it that it probably flew over the general audience’s head. Also it was cool to hear Josh Keaton back as Spectacular Spider-Man

The thing about his spectacular cameo was that they had to make all of these Spider-Men, especially my favorite spectacular Spider-Man, want to force miles to watch his dad die. Like I don’t see spectacular Spider-Man agreeing to that

I Don't understand why his dad needs to die. Miles already lost his uncle and that's what pushed him to be Spiderman, we don't need his dad dying. And also, why only his dad? Will his mom die too?

@@kusanalithedendroarchon So he hasnt really played an official character, he is more just a easter egg nod to Miles Morales because Childish Gambino/Donald Glover was the reason Miles was created. In Tom hollands movie, he stops him and he basically says, i have a nephew (miles) that lives around here. It also could mean (but not 100%) that Donald Glover might actually player prowler in the mcu or sonys universe
@@orangedinosaur3546 he's actively stated as being Aaron Davis in the mcu and there's even that deleted scene where he namedrops miles, so I think it's likely that he'll pop up again soon as the prowler
This was easily one of the best superhero movies I've ever seen. Every moment feels earned without pandering and the story is complex without an overly complicated narrative. And the animation is absolutely gorgeous.

The way they pulled glover in as the prowler than followed it up with an animated version of what could've been Miles's life is absolute art.

I think one of the greatest cameo's is the actor that plays Pavitr "Pav" Prabhakar (Spiderman from Mumbattan). He was the taxi driver in Deadpool and had a pretty decent sized roll in the film, even if he was a side character. I'm so sad that this wasn't mentioned.

Maybe not, he’s probably upgraded since homecoming and still manages to lay low. But if the Multiverse still recognizes him as a villain to be involved with Spider-Man then Strange’s spell is probably what moved him around like what happened with Vulture and Eddie
Just remembered that MCU Peter interrogating and webbing Aaron to his car could be what sparked the connection, so he’s already involved lol
Yeah, basically, we’re behind on the canon story. Prowler exists and has already fought miles as Spider-Man or Peter. But we’re not shown what’s happened specifically as of yet.
Argh! He’s never fought him as prowler, he mistook him for a car thief in homecoming.
But it seems he really is a baddie, but not a massive threat that requires an avenger to fight.
Perhaps if MCU kingpin isn’t presumed dead after the end of the Hawkeye show; he might recruit him similar to into the spiderverse kingpin.
At least not yet.

Only question I have is when they bringing miles over how will they make him into a live action character when if you look at every time a character goes to a different dimension they maintain their animated characteristics. Case in point when The Spot went to venoms universe he wasn’t live action, he was still a cartoon.
I assume the same voice actors will play them live too?

I also loved the references with the lines of dialogue to previous movies such as the spot saying "the power of the multiverse in the palm of my hand" or Gwen saying "not your prowler miles". There's way more but it was just cool noticing these lines and none of them felt forced either.

I love how they introduced live action in an animated world, animated character in a live action world and completely 2d characters. They basically took the 2 things people thought would limit who or what they could have in the film and figured it a way to do it anyway.

It was so dope to see Donald Glover in this movie for so many reasons! What I can't stop thinking about though is whether he's playing Aaron Davis from the MCU (or some variant of him), OR is he playing an older Prowler Miles. Without him, there would be no Miles, so... kind of poetic? 🤷♂
This movie was BEYOND AMAZING. When I saw the ending, the prowler version of miles reminded me of Selim, a cloned version from the recent clone saga run in the comics(also selim is an anagram for miles).

Metro Boomin, who contributed to the soundtrack, had a cameo as a new version of Spider-Man who said “there was no place to run” during the chase scene. And I think the guy who voiced Spider-Man in the 80e cartoon had a cameo too during the chase.
He said "my bad guys, there was somewhere to run" actually but yeah same difference

The Lego part was actually made by a 14 year old. He made a Spider-man Into the Spider-Verse trailer out of Lego, and one of the animators for the movies saw it and asked him to make a scene for. Pretty cool if you ask me!

How cool would it be if we get a live action Miles movie with Donald's Prowler as the main villain and at the end of the movie Miguel pulls him with a portal.

I like to believe in the movie spider-verse, Miles is the only Miles to be spider-man, because he's an anomaly. also, I don't think Prowler would be a villain in a Miles centered movie, if it was a Tom Holland movie with Miles elements, and it had Prowler as a villain, it would be amazing!

I swear I saw other miles morales’ being shown when 2099 shows them how every spider-man went through tragedy in order to became what they now, including Toby and Andrew (but holand was missing from this, potentially because of what doctor strange did, or because he is potentially another anomaly, as he was introduced in civil war with no backstory intro like every Spider-Man before him)

I was looking for 90s animated spiderman
For me, as an avid or at least used to be one. This movie was an amazing trip down memory lane and full of references to comics, movies, and animated shows.
I was getting teary eyed seeing spectacular Spider-Man and hearing Josh Keaton voice as Peter again I loved that show so much as a kid and it’s still such a shame how it got canned

Popped off hardest for the two best Peter Parker Spider-Man portrayals: Spectacular Spider-Man and PS4 Spider-Man. Not seeing them, that was expected, but the fact they even got Josh Keaton and Yuri Lowenthal to voice them was all I wanted. And they did.
Glover's cameo is one of the best ever and hope that sets up him being in Beyond The Spider-Verse.
I think it’s so cool that in the spider-man homecoming when Karen analyzes uncle aaron his alias says ‘the prowler’. They left that lil Easter egg in and no one at the time realized it until now. Fast forward to this new movie being released it all kind of connects. Amazing storyline and detail development 👌🏿
This was love letter to spider man and everything it is, with a deep story that explores what it means to be spider man.
The Lego universe one could also be a meta reference to The Lego Movie, as Lord & Miller wrote & directed that movie as well
The community reference is just… SO COOL. Makes the movie even better because it’s one of my favorite shows, specifically the fact that they managed to tie in donald glover, one of my favorite PEOPLE 😭 such an amazing movie man
I think the main reason that they didn't have a cameo by the '90s Spider-Man was the fact it gave viewers the first look into the Spiderverse in the 2-part finale (although it wasn't called that yet). This had several Peters working together to save the multiverse. One of them was the (Iron) Armored Spidey, who unlike the others, did not suffer any personal tragedy. In his reality, he was wealthy and very popular (even well-liked by Jonah Jameson), and had a science center named after him. Most notable was that this Peter's Uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy were still alive. He was about the only exception to the rule they established in the movie that every Spidey had to undergo a personal tragedy.

There's a small early cameo of Miles-42 during the flashback scene for Spot explaining how he took Spider-42. It's hanging right about Miles-42 (unless his double braid is a common hair style and they made multiple comments about his hair for no reason)
also if you didn’t notice, in one of the scenes you see Ganke playing spider man 2 which is being released fall of 2023, so you kinda see a bit of a snippet of the gameplay.

The lines Jameson says in the Lego version are from the Raimi movies as well, and the Insomniac Spidey shown is actually the Spider-Man 2 version which is still to come!

This movie did what I hate about a lot of movies and just did it good. It didn’t feel like it used the cameos as a crutch to create excitement, and there was a lot going on but it all mattered to the story.
I saw that there are only two digits in the earth Miles is travelling to and i knew his Earth was 1610 so i sort of knew that he's going to the wrong universe and when she said "he's in the wrong universe" i knew that i knew and at the end when Prawler was walking towards Miles i was like "it's gotta be Miles, it's Miles" and probably ruined it for the people sitting next to me 😂
The one camera on surprised not to see was the MTV Spider-Man with Neil Patrick Harris

Video Man was seen in the '80s Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends series which had IceMan and Firestar as his teammates. I was disappointed they didn't have a '90s Spidey cameo, which itself had several Peters from several realities working together in that series' final episodes. That was the first version of the Spiderverse. I'm not sure, but was there a cameo by MTV's Spidey, who was voiced by Neil Patrick Harris? I also think it would have been cool if they had a clip of the '70s Spider-Man, who was portrayed by Nick Hammond.

The Donald Glover cameo absolutely blew me away. One of the absolute greatest cameos I've seen in a Spiderman movie. Especially if you already knew the reference. I had been talking about this for years since homecoming.

A masterpiece of a film, never thought I would enjoy an animated movie as much as I do this series. Glad to hear the next one is only < a year out.

Also, you didn't mention that the character to the left at 3:30 is Video Man, a villain-turned-hero on NBC's "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends" (dating myself here :) ). It's also interesting to point out, re: 4:49 that Marc Bernardin said Bendis was (also) inspired by an article he wrote about the possibility of superheroes like Spider-Man being cast as Black.

Spoilers:
The whole reason why Miguel did not like our Miles is because he was bitten by a spider from another universe and leaving that said universe without a Spiderman.
The whole reason why he made the multiversal Spiderman team was to prevent disruption and cataclysms within the spiderverse so having the Spiderman that has been bitten by a spider from another universe would ruin the whole point of creating the team.
So if that was the only reason, then variants of Miles Morales can join Miguel's team.
but there aren't anyone... that's why he is the anomaly... but to think about this, the spot (when he was a scientist) brought that spider in... he caused the entire franchise then!!
Miles is an anomaly making him unique in the spiderverse since he was never supposed to become Spider-Man

If I'm not mistaken, on-screen with the Atari Green Goblin, on the left hand side, that blue blocky guy I believe is Video Man (I think that's what he's called) from a couple episodes of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends from the early 80s.
Surprised to see Videoman from Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends as one of the anomalies that are in holding cells before being sent back to their realities.
I read Spider-Man comics but missed so many Easter eggs! Such a great film
