What about when you add plug ins etc?? Multi vid layers?? And finally, Does the i9 run 4K while editing like the 2017 i7 could run and edit 1080p?? I’m fine with waiting a few extra minutes etc regarding rendering etc, but if you can’t actually edit 4K video and have smooth playback, be able to add solid plugins, and edit multi layers of vid without jitters and or audio drops and all of it what would be the point! I just purchased a 2017 i7 2.9 and can still return it for the i9 if you think it’s worth it to do so??! 👍🏼 Thanks big time for your help!
please help me out. i cannot remove the hinge (butterfly mechanism) because of that silicone part. my hinge is broken and i need to change it, but can't take that off. is there anybody knows how to remove it?
If you are investing in an expensive computer like that, you should NEVER eat around them. Even with previous gen models, not a good idea to casually cause the thing that can F up your keyboard. If you have a disposable income, perhaps that is nothing to you, but as for myself, if I had an expensive machine like that, I would make sure to be careful with it. This video irresponsibly highlights and encourages neglecting caution with highly expensive laptops. Just because something clears up an issue doesn't mean that it couldn't come back because you provoke it. It's better to have a company be responsible for hardware malfunction, not you. Also, keyboards aren't the most important thing on a laptop, but they are an important piece of hardware in communicating with the computer.
Computer is just a tool. Like a hammer or a screwdriver. So if you buy 100$ hammer instead of 5$ one you expect it to be durable and comfortable in use. You shouldn't be scared that "oh my god I have to be gentle with it or the handle will break". But Macbook is the complete opposite of premium tool - fragile and not comfortable in use. Just buy an x1 carbon for that price which is pretty indestructible compared to a macbook. Think different boi
It's not about treating it like some fragile piece of equipment. It can be used as it's meant to, computing, not a plate for your food. Also, it's not a blunt tool either. There's a difference between taking care of an investment and mishandling it because you can. It's called maintenance. Another thing, it may be an expensive computer, but it's still a computer, rugged or not, you should take care of it. Even though it may seem invincible, all computers ware down in time and the components inside aren't invincible either. Think practical and responsible, boi
Robin78 the analogy is off. A macbook is a luxury tool. Like a handbag. You wouldn’t just spill drink on your louis vuitton or your montblanc wouldn’t you? Same with the macbook.
Yknow. At this point. Why don’t Apple just make the keyboard touchscreen. Like. It’ll be even flatter than now

Advertising. This is an example of the typical Apple language: insane, great, giant... "most people LOVE the butterfly keyboard". Yeah, right. Truth is nobody cares about the keyboard unless it fails, and nobody asked Apple to obsess in making absurdly thinner "pro" laptops that COST MORE than a real pro laptop but look like a museum vase and lack of pro ports like HDMI or a card reader, or have a compromised small battery, or are assembled like a puzzle which makes repairs an expensive nightmare (official or not), and the worst consequence: thermal issues that leads to throttling (best case scenario) or frying the GPU or other internal components in the long term when warranty or Applecare plan have expired. But yeah, MacBook Pros are NOT faulty designed computers, no, if they end up failing the blame is on THE USER who did not know how to use the beautiful museum vase they bought, pushing them to the limit, trying to do professional stuff too much on them 😒
I am reading a lot of users mentioning that the problem is not just dust, but due to the problems being in the vast majority of times in the E key it may be related to heating, has anyone seen this too?
I need help! I own the new MacBook Pro w/ touch bar since 2017 and the dirt problem affected some of my keys! Apple says I need to pay 1.229.99 dollars. What should I do?
Ive had this problem numerous times. Ive been able to get the keys unstuck by getting my fingernail under the affected key and flicking it upwards until it dislodges whatever is causing it to stick. Ive only just fixed the b key. It took around 10 minutes. So far its always worked. I find regularly running a soft bristled brush across the keyboard seems to help as well. That quote for a fix is daylight robbery.
They should just make two versions, normal keyboard and butterfly If butterfly were better with dealing with dust weirdly i would buy the butterfly (if it was the same price)

If I hold down one of my keys such as a it pops up with the option of special letters e.g a = àáâäæãå but this doesn't work with my x key (maybe there isn't a special letter for my x key idk). There are some games I play which involves the x key and I can't change the keybind so yeah. I did a test as well, I press the x key 10 times and it only came up 6 of 10 times unlike other keys. If anyone can help it would be great. Thanks.
It’s really messed up that Apple botched up the first butterfly keyboards and is charging people hundreds when they inevitably fail from the most gentle and basic use. My spacebar just stopped working after 9 months. I spent $3456.12 on a piece of equipment that failed to be usable after just 9 months, and I treated that thing like my first born. Fortunately I was under the 1-year warrantee but the techs warned me that my keyboard will likely fail once again, and again and it could cost nearly $1000 to fix. Each. Time. What could I do to prevent this I asked? Nothing, they said. It’s just crappy hardware. This die-hard apple girl now has a Google Pixel 3 in the Mail. I will never buy another Apple product again.

I got my Macbook Air 2018 in November of last year, and I immediately started having issues with the keyboard. I thouught it was a matter of getting used to it, but it's been three months and still the same (I left that double u in "thought" to illustrate the issue). My concern with keyboards was always ergonomic, never functional. I can type without looking, but now I have to watch like a hawk so I can spot typos and address them right then and there.
