Thanks for the analisis! these look amazing! I wonder what they would feel like if they were a size down thou....I really wish the industry had a standard in how long a certain size should be! There seems to be a tendency in the indudtry nowadays to make shoes fit bigger than what they are meant to in order to make them fit several foot shapes. I've always wore a size 9US( 42 EU: 27cm) and now for a few years I find hard to buy shoes that fit perfectly( normally buy online due to living in a small spanish island) and seems that some shoes size 9 are half centimeter longer than what they used to be. I have now a pair of nano x3 and a pair of Fuse 2.0 that I can't train with because of that issue and they are supposed to be the same size as my nano x2 adventure and my metcons 6, but in reality they are half centimeter too long and tha puts me way off wearing them! ...I mean, how hard is it that to have an international standard lengh?!!!
big fan of the look of these at least. Bummer they may run big bc a 13.5 would probably be perfect for me but no one makes that size due to rampant tallism in this country
Have you ran in these? I have the strike movement haze trainer, but they fell apart on me. I am looking for another trainer that might be decent for running too
All I will say is this - I returned the Metcon 9 because the toe box was roomier/wider than the Metcon 8. I have multiple pairs of Metcon 8s. Decided to order the Dropset2 in red. Dropset 2 toebox roomier than Metcon 8, but definitely less than the Metcon 9. I don’t like wide shoes. I kept the Dropset 2 in red and then proceeded to order the white and olive colorways as well - tells you how much I liked the Dropset 2 (both aesthetics and feel/fit). I’ve tried the Nano x2 (haven’t tried the x3) and felt the Dropset2 had a more stable sole than the x2. Dropset2 also does NOT need a break in period. It felt incredibly comfortable to walk in compared to the Metcon 8 and Metcon 9.
Follow up additional detail. X3 vs X2, plus additional Dropset 2 important ‘feel’ detail. Ordered X2 size mens 9.5 several months prior to my original post. Felt too long. Ordered X3 recently size mens 9.0 on account of X2 sizing - turns out too small. My normal normal shoe size is usually a 9.5. One possible critical ‘feel/fit’ detail of the Dropset 2 that people need to be aware about is that it creases (as far as feel is concerned) directly above your toes ‘knuckle’ area. So it has a tactile ‘dig’ feel as you walk. To me that’s the biggest drawback on the Dropset 2. I have three (white, olive, red). The white pair is my favorite because it’s the least noticeable. The olive is next, and then the red has that ‘dog tactile’ feel the most so it’s my least favorite. Metcons don’t have that effect. Most shoes don’t have that feel. The sensation is similar to a cheap pair of leather shoe where it creases at the toebox area.

I dislike how much emphasis is put on rope climbs. Is there that many people doing rope climbs all day?

It’s frustrating how over engineered these shoes are. That TPU seems unnecessary and is pretty ugly imo. How heavy is it? Looks bulky
