Love this video. I took my kids to our onky local show this past weekend and compared to the lastvone in September, it was amazing! I spent all of my money. It was the 1st time ive ever experienced dealers going below ebay comps. I was able to make several bulk deals for pokemon slabs, a bunch of T-205 slabs and picked up several future HOF baseball Auto's guys super cheap. Best show ive ever attended. A couple dealers i always buy from told me that the tide turned in November when a bunch of these dealers that still had 2021 prices finally had to capitulate to stay in business and the ones that didnt, went out of business allowing new dealers with fair prices to take their palces. And i tell you as a buyer, it was 1000% better than the last 2 years where 95% of dealers were 200%+ ebay comps.
That's great to hear. We still have some dealers around here who will not budge and tell me they aren't having good shows. It's no wonder why, most have come to understand what buyers want and adjust prices accordingly.
These are starting to become my favorite videos on your channel JT. That's a lot to say because I've enjoyed so many of your videos so far, but I really enjoy watching the interactions at the shows you either set up at or just attend. Thanks for doing these. 👍

I really enjoyed the insight into behind the table. A place where some think about venturing but don't for one reason or another. Great etiquette, I am very robot buyer but at a recent mall show I tried my best to not give the just looking stare or comment. Thanks for sharing JT.

It's a great show! I can't say I've ever really had a "bad" show there, maybe a few below average but that had more to do with me than anything else.

Man it looks cold 🥶 at the beginning of the video, BUT did things heat 🥵 up at the show! I love the footage and the way you makes this video. I hope this isn’t the end for Burrow.
A little chilly, but the snow made it look much worse! I think Burrow will be fine if they properly invest in some protection for him. Four years in and he's still one of the most sacked QBs in the league. They need to protect their $270 million investment.
Nice video and great to see some vlogs of our local card show. I've been setting up at the Xenia show the last 6 months and the turnouts have been pretty good. Gotta take a 4 month hiatus to coach baseball but will set back up again after the National. Great content man, love to see it.
That's great to hear. Where are you normally set up at? I'm sure we've crossed paths at some point.
@@TripleCrown24 we probably have at some point. My sons and I set up in the 2nd building...Ken moves us around a little bit here and there but mostly right in the middle. I won't set up for the next few months but will probably visit the show when tournaments aren't going on.

Just want to thank you for posting this! You seem like a good dude. I’ve been watching people set up at shows and your video seems to be like most. Take that deal you ended up at 630 (think you agreed values were at 760). If you constantly have to discount, I struggle to figure out how you make money (especially given your time and table fees). And, I stress I’m not trying to be disrespectful, genuinely curious if you could answer. I have a decent eBay store. I’ve kicked around the idea of setting up, just seems super-difficult. What price must you buy those cards at? Then , I’d find that people selling wouldn’t sell you those cards to be able to turn a profit. Any info you’d like to share would be enlightening! Best
Appreciate the kind words! I could make several videos answering the questions you asked. Every deal I make, I try to visualize in my head what the eventual sale of that card(s) will look like. That means where I'm going to sell it, who I'm going to sell it to, and for how much will I sell it. There are certain cards I sell that I know are going to the "end user" aka the collector. Others I know the people buying them have no attachment to them, they are in it for the money. I spend a great deal of time scouting opportunities and evaluating values beyond what the numbers may say, the latter I think is crucial in a world where comps are king and everyone wants it for less than the last sale. Hope this helps to some degree.

Just looks difficult (as do most of the recent UA-cam clips I’ve seen with other sellers setting up) and you have a great attitude about it. I’m not sure I could do it, even with my experience in the hobby. Best of luck in 2024

Greatly appreciate it! When I rebuild my inventory, I should be able to show off more trades because it's one of my favorite things to do. I'll have one in the next video that comes out.
Enjoyed the video! What are some of your favorite shows around the Cinci area? I’ve been to the Moeller show several times but it’s mainly vintage and so tight walking around.
If you count this as the Cincy area, this is my favorite. I would recommend the Eastgate show if you're looking for something a little more local. Personally I don't set up there because I don't like setting up inside of malls, but I have had success walking around there.

Thanks for checking it out. I find most of my inventory through social media or word of mouth throughout the week, shows on weekends.
Do you get a lot of sales from your value boxes?
Depends on the show. The value boxes almost always cover the table fees on their own.
Another question. Is it worth going to the National? Im considering booking it as my lone "me only" trip.
Absolutely something you should experience at least once. If you were only going one year, I would recommend Chicago in 2025.

Thanks! I was born in the suburbs of Detroit, mostly grew up there and that's where I consider "home", but I live in Southern Ohio now.
