I'd go out on a limb and say many of us love hearing acquisition stories of cards. Grats on the 9! Honestly, I believe thick cards should be treated like PMGs. Getting a Mint 9 on a thick patch card is essentially a Gem Mint 10. What I'm curious about is...Would you rather sell it for cash or use that card to move into a more desirable card? Or possibly trade down?
And thanks for throwing out numbers. As it is a very touchy thing to talk about and reveal. So much kudos to you.

I'll probably look to move it for cash ideally, but not in a huge rush on this card

Your videos are why I got into the hobby. Loved the rambling on the process of comparison and pricing. As a new entrant the higher end and less liquid market has thrown me for a decent curve so listening to your process is very helpful and appreciated. Man what a sick trade, card, and grade. Congrats! Id have to make that a long time hold/PC just too sick.

PSA 9 on a thick card like that is amazing.
PSA 9 is AWESOME on a patch auto Messi man. Congrats! Honestly the deal probably makes sense for both parties. You're more into soccer and have that reach, with him being out west will be able to move it during the season when he has a stretch of good games. Good stuff.

Super sick card, congrats on the PSA 9. Sounds like dude was pretty legit and you seem legit, seems like you guys came to a deal pretty smooth on a couple of big dog cards. For an Immaculate card, a 9 is actually really great. 10's are virtually impossible to get in Immaculate, Impeccable, Obsidian & National Treasures. Yeah, they're out there but a very rare. Congratulations & good luck on the sale 💪🤑💰

Great grade on the Messi. Do you find being upfront and honest with a dealer or trade on where you need to be at is best practice? I sometimes struggle with this because that gives them more leverage. Would appreciate your thoughts!
Depends on the situation honestly. I wouldn't do anything that's going to give them more leverage, but a lot of times being upfront results in a quicker more efficient deal

Not a soccer fan but that card is amazing.
Just gonna play a little devil's advocate for a second.. I understand that PSA almost never gives 10's on thicker patch cards, then my question is, why send it to PSA with the ceiling only being a 9?? I do very little submissions with PSA.. I used to be a BGS guy, but for the last couple of years I have been almost exclusively SGC.. I would have sent that card to SGC all day long.. At least at SGC you would have a shot at getting a 10.. And if not a 10, then most likely a 9.5 mint plus.. I understand the whole resale aspect, but I would personally take an SGC 9.5 over a PSA 9 about 99% of the time.. The SGC slabs also look so much better than the PSA slabs.. Just my 2 cents...
