A friend of mine called me the other day to say the last time he went to the grocery store the person checking him out was very rude, rather short on their responses and didn’t seem like they really didn’t want to be there. I said I was sorry to hear that. I’ve never experienced anything like that before. He said yeah I’ll never go through the self-check out lane again.

The number seven setting is perfect for a Thomases English muffin and that would be a English muffin that is thawed (not frozen), by the way the little indent on the left side of the toaster is actually a symbol to tell you which way to put the bagel in

I was hesitant on trying the Ninja toaster. I am glad you've tested out. I will probably purchase one next year. I love my toasted bagels!!!

Cathy, just like UA-cam, the Ninja uses an algorithm that adjusts the toasting time. That or it could be magic during this magical time of year. :)
From the manual:
"NOTE: The unit uses an algorithm to ensure consistent shade results whether toasting with a cold or pre-warmed unit. As a result, the total toast time per shade level may vary. To add more or less time, press the shade buttons."
I frequently wondered how my Ninja Air Fryer Oven could preheat in less than 20 seconds. Apparently it is averaging out the temperature and time to achieve similar results without requiring a preheating for the usual five minutes or more. Why should they bother to explain that t me?

I feel so dumb! I never knew the bagel setting was for one-sided cooking. I thought my toaster just didn't close in as tightly. Another lesson learned!

Other than to test this unit, I was curious why you bought this, since you had the Ninja air fryer/oven etc. That unit does toast as well. So isn't this new unit kind of a redundant system for you, or does it do something different that I missed? Thanks for your reviews.

10JUL2022 - WHY I'M RETURNING MINE - I bought this yesterday at Target for $144.00. Unboxed it, read ALL the instructions, put it together (screwed handle to tray), plugged it in, and turned it on. It worked. Then I stared testing all the features. Problem No.1: Can't use it on a countertop underneath a wall cabinet. It gets too hot and there's not enough vertical clearance. Problem No. 2: No place to stow the tray with unit in upright position. Problem No. 3: This is the deal killer. The design is flawed and I mean in a way that clearly indicates this was designed by someone who has never owned a toaster. The crumb tray cannot be removed and cleaned. Yep, you heard it here. The crumb tray will PULL out (partially) but will not COME out. Which means you would have to turn the device upside down (not practical), or wipe out the tray (leaving crumbs behind), or vacuum out the try (something only Monk would do). So today, back to Target I go. Crumb tray. Nobody can do their job anymore.
