The Ninja Foodi Flip Toaster is an interesting take on the toaster oven market. It'll make you flip!! See what I did there? Do you have one? Let me know about your experiences with it! If you liked this video, you might like this S'mores recipe for the flip toaster: ua-cam.com/video/z4TUr1cDBWg/v-deo.html
I love mine! Yes, it's small but so is my kitchen. That's why I decided to purchase it. I was in need of a new toaster but I wanted a more quality toaster than the $20 toaster. When I got my Foodi home I considered taking it back because of it's oven size but after using it a few times it suits my needs! Yes, a bigger oven would be nice but then I couldn't place it where it is now. I've seen other videos on this product and I still learned something about my new Foodi. The electric cord alway got in the way of the flipping now because of your review I learned of the "electric clips" on the back of the unit. Thanks! S Martinez from Hayward CA.

Hey thanks! That $220 must have been a total mismark.. Haha. Ours is still going good.... The crumb tray isn't removable which is a bummer, but otherwise it's been pretty solid.
Looks to me like it does exactly what it was designed to do: Combine two appliances into one and save counter space. And, the price is lower than I expected. I don't think it can fit two slices of the rye bread that I like, which is wider than the sandwich bread you tested. Great review (as always).
That was a very nice review. Nice detail going over the functions and features. I love ninja products. I have a few appliances and each one has been fantastic. My toaster is a cheap one (black and decker) and I considered getting a better one numerous times. Maybe 2 or 3 years ago I joked that if ninja ever made a toaster, I'd probably buy it. I just found out today they finally made one, which really isn't surprising at all, and in their typical manner, they don't stop at just one function. So its great that it can bake as well. As I typed out that last sentenced, I wondered about baking cookies if you only want a few. I don't doubt it would work very well.
I bought a toaster that cost 130 bucks and it sucked!! I am for surely going to look into buying this!! I don't have lots of space either. This whole review was great! Awesome video, good engaging content!
Sir I bought this toaster three in one you have given me a lot of help thank you very much and a happy Christmas to you just toaster is just the bees and Ees and spiders ankles just fantastic thankyou sir and thankyou ninja
Thanks for demonstrating the toaster shade as I didn't see that in other reviews I've come across. Showing that the baking tray can be stored upright also helped me decide if it would save space. Also rare to hear a reviewer openly mentions to check other reviews to have a well informed decision. Appreciate that. I just bought this product.
Thanks Riki! Appreciate ya! Just tryin to help people make more educated decisions..... That's always better if you have a wide range of ideas to think about, IMO
@@jesseonamotorcycle Yes I'd recommend for wanting to save counter space. As a toaster it works good. As an oven it is quite low in height so trying to fit a small frozen pot pie or making a tuna melt sandwich is still within range. It's more a toaster first and being an oven is an added bonus.
I really like Ninja products. My concern with both the flip toaster, and the flip oven, is power consumption. Because the cost of living is going up, and people have to pay more for energy use. I don't know the answer, but I presume in oven mode it just uses the heating element at the top, and switches off the heating element below. That would be good to know because then it's half the cost to use, and it also saves money if it is quicker to use than other appliances. From other videos I saw: place bagels inside with cut side forward. It toasts the front side more. Darker toast settings might be best for frozen bread.
Hi. I checked out a few things on our test unit here for you. If you have it in bake mode, both top and bottom elements come on (or left and right depending on how you look at it. LOL). If you put it in broil mode, the the top element comes on, which would be the one on the right if you had the lever situated towards you. Power usage shouldn't be so bad... it's a tiny space, so heating that space is super fast. No real preheating needed.
Oh, it's small.... Definitely something that would be used as a compliment to a larger device.... I have 2 other ovens though so it works nicely for small stuff.
Hi Joe, Those marshmallows snacks were dangerous... You showed some appetizers I never had in mind ... Question... How is the cleaning of crumbs working out ❓
It's not that bad.... The crumb tray is weird that it doesn't just come out. It's annoying to empty it since I end up bringing the whole thing over to the sink to clear it.
My teacher used to eat toast at level 7 with peeled plumb tomatoes every morning. This was to keep her weight down. She believed the toast being burnt lowered the calories. No butter.
Ya know... Originally I started doing that because the camera lighting was casting too much shadow onto my face... And then it turned into seeing how many people I could trigger with it.... Now I'm kinda stuck doing it.... And my mic is right there inside the cap too.
The test isn't completely conclusive. My toaster will burn shop bought bread on a higher level, but my home made bread will be fine. It really does depend on the type of bread. Rye for example never looks toasted no matter what setting you use! American grocery store bread is quite different to what we have here in the UK too. Also, if you conducted this test correctly I assume you allowed the toaster to cool down between each test. I know that keeping the toaster on the same setting will produce very different results if the toaster has already heated up. I am not being pedantic, I just wanted to share my own experience.
Heya. No offense taken at all. It's always nice to get peoples takes on stuff. To answer you questions, Yes.. I let the toaster cool down for about 10 minutes between each test to make sure it was nice and cool. I probably should have mentioned that. Also with the breads, I though about trying it with several different types and thicknesses, but there was so much variation there, that I just went the the generic route and used something standard that's really popular here to try to get a really basic baseline... also, using more would have made the video a bit too long for most people. Not really the most scientific testing or anything, but I was aiming at just giving people a general idea of what they might expect from it. Thanks for the addition! I'm sure that's going to help clear up some stuff for other people, too. Appreciate ya.
Nice video. It seems the toaster keeps defaulting to 2 minutes. And then I have to move it to 3 minutes 30 seconds each time. Do you know how 330 can be the default mode?
Jo, I would never have ever bought this type of device, one is too small. I have a Master Chef convection toaster oven at home that I bought 2 years ago and it works great. Sorry but your device is already showing adjustment problems, it is unreliable and way too expensive for what it offers. Have a nice day !
Ahh... And there is the rub with something like this. For me, it works out because I have a convection microwave and also my oven to handle real stuff... This would just be something that can do little things like the stuff I made in the video without having to warm up an oven. For that it works really nice, but to replace something larger, not so much. The fact that it has a small footprint nice though. Might be a good tool for someone that has nothing but a tiny kitchen nook with really limited counter space... Like Japanese apartment kitchens of something like that.

Great review, Joe. Definitely, I would like to see you revisit this product in a year or two for its durability.
Will do, my friend!
Thanks for the review. It was very helpful. I just got this and wanted to see other peoples thoughts.
No problem! Still using mine today, and it's proven to be pretty convenient.
I got mine because I need it for small meals Its just my husband and me and it does not take a big space like a toaster oven I really like it
It's a neat little toaster oven. It can do a lot more than most people think, as long as you're dealing with smaller portions. It makes great nachos!
How do I clean it?

The one thing I love about mine is how fast it reaches temperature. No preheat required.
Yeah.. I like that too... Cuts down the cook time about 5 mins I figure.
Great review! I like the idea of it the two-in-one appliance, but the "oven" size seems a little too small for me.
Oh, it's small.... Definitely something that would be used as a compliment to a larger device.... I have 2 other ovens though so it works nicely for small stuff.
"On my Marshall Amp, all the numbers go to 11. Look, right across the board, 11, 11, 11, 11. We need 11 toast shades too."
- Nigel Tufnel, Spinal Tap
Lol... if this thing went to 11, we'd have a smoldering meteorite coming out of it.

Love my Ninja toaster
I Agree! It's a really cool machine.. Not too hard on the wallet, either.
Smaller version of the Ninja flip sort of, what you have there is not an Ninja flip though it's an Ninja 2-in-1 Toaster & Grill hope this has helped
That toaster oven is pretty nice.
My teacher used to eat toast at level 7 with peeled plumb tomatoes every morning. This was to keep her weight down. She believed the toast being burnt lowered the calories. No butter.
Now I want pizza bagels. 😁
😛
Nice backwards ballcap, Bro!

I don't think you can change to defaults on it, unfortunately. I can look into it though and see what I can find if ya like.

Gimmick
Yeah... I've gone back and forth about that myself... It does work pretty decent as a toaster oven, but just for really small jobs.
How to clean
I am not sold. To me this is a solution in search of a problem.
