Maybe you already are doing this, it just didn't happen in the heat of the moment. I've found the AP of Lushun on ALL broadsides, including DDs to be powerful. They don't get the improved pen angles of the Vampire, but the fuse time is the same. So, as in the case of the Shimi you actually get significantly more dmg per salvo. Despite only having 4 guns, it has the 3rd best AP dpm in the game. Good vid.
I got at least 40% of over pan for shooting narrow DDs, such as Shima. HE has low damage but more reliable, it just hurts a lot if you shot one salvo with no damage, lushun has insane fast reload, in a DD fight, maybe HE is the safe way, unless you are dealing with Khaba or German wired ones( you know which ones) that has armor plates on the side, LMAO
yeah sometimes heat of the moment i forget to switch to AP or i want consistent damange when DDs are angling...so just to be safe i just use HE. But yes AP is a good choice...I prefer the AP of the british line more for the better angles. Thank you!
There's another factor there than just short fuse time... Lushun's AP shells Pen Arm Threshold is 22 mm. With most DD's having 19mm, you'll overpen unless they start angling. Effective Armor Thickness of 22mm = 30 degress of angle for 19mm plating. That's about a 15 deg window before ricochet chance starts kicking in. The gamble with AP is always what damage you'll get with Overpen vs Pen. Lushun AP 2200 alpha = 226 dmg Overpen = 726 dmg Pen. vs Lushun HE 1400 alpha = 462 dmg pen. The gamble being AP with 226 overpen with the chance of getting 726 on a pen hit... OR HE with pretty consistent 462. You can mitigate this a bit with the Heavy AP commander skill. On a side note, this is partly why German's can and often do gamble with AP - much bigger AP alpha. ex. 1500 HE alpha vs 3000 AP alpha. Of course this is different vs DD's with plating, Khaba, Elbing, Ragnar, etc. Use AP
Ran into a Lushun with Ragnar, been looking it up ever since. How do you buy it? Wiki says credits but I can't find Lushun anywhere. I must have washed his ship 20 times with near misses lol. Doesn't look that dodgy, must be really skinny. I finally won but Good Lord, I want one! P.S. glad it wasn't you, you'd have killed me! ha
It was a dockyard ship so you got it by completing the 40 missions iirc. Its very similar to a Daring but trades the 7 smokes for a better hydro and longer heal. Daring vs Lushun Conceal 6 vs 5.8 km Range 12.8 both Speed 36 max both (slow af) Torps almost same reload but Lushun is only deep water Hydro 3 vs 5.5 km Hydro time 3.5 vs 2 mins Daring forgives a lot of mistakes and it’s easier to play. If you make a mistake in Lushun u die
@@babyseal_5Thank You for that! Was driving me crazy! maybe they'll eventually put it out for steel or coal, Sadly more likely for doubloons. Daring is very powerful and a favorite of mine too but has lofty shells at long range. I still love it! though. Thanks for the explanation! Way Cool! o7
yep thanks for the replies everyone, glad you got the info you needed. yeah dockyard ships are a must to get because you don't know if they will ever comeback. Especially the cruisers Thank you!

@@RIPPERDD Also British/Commonwealth 113mm AP will arm at 19mm, so you'll always get pen damage
which on do you like the most, Forest Sherman or Lushun?
Forest sherman is way better and has way more firepower...I like that more
