why don't we have rocket planes for aircraft carriers on console, I don't get why we don't have it if it's the same game.

What a fun and balanced class. Being able to isolate yourself inside a group of enemies and kill people in their own spawn while being completely undetectable is definitely a healthy and fun mechanic that I'm sure all of the players on the team enjoyed.
Torpedo destroyers have been doing the same crap for years. I've seen similar results by people edge rushing with Shimakazes against equally incompretent enemies. Should we remove destroyers from the game as well?

@@abyssalreclass You know what Destroyers can't do? Ignore radar. Or pass within 2.1km of any ship without fear of detection. Or be basically immune to aircraft carriers and aircraft spotting. Or have their torpedoes home in on targets with a ping that's up 10 times more often than the one thing that can clear it. Or go and solo a handful of enemy ships in their own spawn in open water. The best part is, the enemies don't even have to be incompetent for a submarine to smash their teeth in with impunity.

@@redviking2086 Definitely. I have seen enough BB's torp dodge so-called homing torps, heck I even do it myself. This looked like a bunch of incompetent surface ships.

@@Peterd0e of course it is arcade but every other ship in WoWS got the max speed you can find on Wikipedia. The New Orleans drives ~30 knots, the Alabama 27,5 knots
but the Balao class drives 27 knots submerged??? (Wikipedia 8,5 knots).

man watching that BB get destroyed at the beginning of the match reminds me just how much I hate subs. who's knows how long that person was in a que for only to just get deleted in the first 4 minutes of the match by a sub that he couldn't see. truly subs are a good addition to this game.
Whenever I think about reinstalling this game I'll just watch this video
have to love that a sub on the surface and submerged is as fast as a lot of DDs and other ships.
Especially since this is in-game only. IRL USS Balao had speed of only 20kts on surface and less than 9kts submerged.
Every kill made I just thought to myself: "He's having fun too!"
Ok someone tell me what that Bourgone could have done to counterplay this sub? Like he was in his spawn with his team and a sub just sailed right into his spawn with no idea where he is and no way to spot him. Even the CV cant spot him and he gets torpped point blank and killed in like 10 seconds. No way to dodge, no way to run away, nothing and WG thinks this is fine?

@@ris3-xi918 No joke lol Theres zero he could have done. Every other class has some way to attempt to counter other classes, even Carriers can try to stop destroyers with their planes when they get up on them. but subs? I dont see it. Broken

Once he saw the ping, Burger needs to turn out right away with the help of damacon. Homing torpedoes once sent will guarantee miss if their lock on is lost, even if you sail in a straight line. As for normal torpedoes, if they hit, he can stop being French. If the the Bourgogne doesn’t have damacon because he extinguished that 1 fire, he deserves to die.
That’s all I will say on that.
As for afterwards, it’s the completely their sub’s fault that balao just goes dilly dallying about.

It is even difficult to watch how this submarine is moving. 30 knots underwater, plus a submersion maneuver that literally takes 3 seconds. WG set himself up for full arcade mode. Cant wait for the War Thunder submarines update.
It's a Video Game. You can't be this shallow.
@@play030 yes he can, at the very least they could do is to make the sub slower underwater. That's the duality of a sub, to submerge is to make yourself vulnerable to attack once detected. There is no balance to this class, if they make the subs do something that cant do fr then almost all ships so be able to launch noise makes to decoy the torps. It's only fair
This sub does 8.5kts submerged in real life. The least they could do is get it correct.

Every time I get the odd thought I'd come back to this game and just check out whats changed, these videos tell me all I need to avoid the trouble.

I would love to play subs in this game one day but not the way WG is making them. These ships only went like 5knots underwater, spent 90% of their time on the surface and only germans had acoustic guided torpedo's that were so bad that they would only work at ranges of 200 yards or less.
you need to relearn your histroy bud, they went allot faster then 5 knots underwater. Realistic subs couldent compete in wows. but they still were not something to scoff at.
@@Gravonic 7 - 9 knots is not a 'lot' faster, and its still far slower than their targets. Best way to avoid a sub was for the escorts to keep the thing submerged so the convoy could get away. They did not even need to kill it, just keep it submerged.
As for targeting warships, well you had to be either lucky or prepositioned, because you sure as hell were not chasing even slow warships submerged, probably not on the surface either. Even the USN's Standards were 21 knots, 23 after refit.
The only submarine that went faster than that was the German Type XXI's, of which they only built two, and neither were fully commissioned before the end of the war. Both were still undergoing their sea trials.
Their torps also travel 2-3× faster than their real-life counterparts.

So many problems with subs. That poor BB could do nothing to stop the sub. The CV could do nothing. Even early game when you spot them, DDs are massively put at risk trying to take them out because to do so gets them proximity spotted and blapped. You can't angle to them, with homing torpedos and if you encounter one while also fighting off another ship, you are fucked. It's just not remotely fair. The only thing positive Subs have done is make us hate CV mains less.
But think of all the money WG is making off terrible players.... all while forcing their OGs out...
Realistically, the only class is in the game that has a chance of dealing with them is DDs, but they get slapped due to the speed of these torps. Sure the swede dds are better at it but it still requires you to get within shotgun range
only complains who lacks teamplay, DDs and crusier should be hunting subs and DDs first. most people ignores subs instead of hunting them, myself as CV i spot them until my teammates kill the sub. If it comes to surface, i kill the sub with bombers.

Something wrong when you have to break the laws of physics to make subs viable, with virtually no counter to higher tiered subs
Subs are only dangerous because we can't find them. Once we find, they are fragile and defenseless. Stealth is their defense. It's ridiculous that a full health BB runs down a sub and the sub wins.

Destroyers are supposed to protect Battleships and Carriers from subs. That's basic Naval doctrine. Although I don't agree with some of the Sub gameplay aspects WG has implemented, more people need to be sub hunting and defending in destroyers! Every Battleship or Carrier player should at least have one Destroyer escort.
If you don't do this with a good sub player enemy around, then expect to get wrecked!

@@ThatJerseyBloke The basic Naval doctrine also says a fleet should have 5 or more destroyers for each BB/CV. So this argument is cripled. Thats the issue, you can't use normal naval doctrine if you want a fair game. The subs are not a fleet ship, they are made for sneak attacks. (Fleet submarines were a dead end, none of them made any sense once planes arrived)
@@michalpajor No it's not and Naval doctrine during WW2 and before did not require 5 destroyers per CV or Battleship. The point is...If there are enemy subs in the game, make sure the CV's and Battleships have an escort or get WRECKED by the good sub player. Period!

I don’t know if you guys know this, but there is another movie you should be quoting 1959 Tony Curtis, Cary Grant operation petticoat they actually took the Balao before they decommissioned it and painted it pink for this movie. Look it up it’s old but it’s hilarious, so yes she was the prettiest girl at the ball

The biggest takeaway I got from this video is go play subs on the Asia server because they’re completely inept at dropping depth charges like COMPLETELY. Wow. Try that on NA like that and every mouth breather would have had planes on him in an instant. Sunk. That was like watching a wolf in a chicken coop.
Facts. In NA 8 Planes and a DD would be looking for him.
Yup, all the people complaining about subs clearly haven't played subs against a competent team. If the enemy isn't clueless you'll be spending the majority of the match running for your life trying to get the fuel leak patched so the cv stops bombing you.

- no to pings visible to submarine opponents! when a destroyer aims at a target the target doesn't know it! SO why when a sub pings a target does this position be given!

Modifications to submarines: reduced damage at close range from submarine torpedoes. of the neck when a sub is attacked by a destroyer he is screwed he can no longer defend himself! why a sub and sanctioned percentage of damage at short range and not the destroyers too or the cruisers and the cuirassiers which also have twists and the aircraft carriers! it's anti-gaming or even racism, because you listen to those who don't like submarines and therefore don't play them and the frustrated people who have been sunk and who are angry! the hydro of the subs which only works once is crap, restore the previous version.

World of Warships finally implemented submarines which was difficult for an arcade type game

I don't want to come off like a fanboi but what exactly do you guys think Subs in Warships should be like? Too slow you'd never reach a target in time.
Theres basically zero skill required here, ping, fire torps...wait, ping again and again and again. Damage con doesn't recharge that fast. So you don't have to aim, don't have predict and can just ping someone to death. Pings need longer recharge, or just take homing torps out all together. And reload on subs is too fast as well. Just as bad as DD's at tier 2/3. Spam torps.
If everyone is complaining maybe, just maybe, they didn't do it right. Thoughts?

To everybody says sub hard to get killed, I'm subie guy, I play 80% subs. Subs are so vulnerable and easy to detect especially with DDs but this guy I bet he plays not on RANDOM he must plays something else with a lot of bots.

New to this game but I suppose it could be energy / oxygen / air reserves that need to be filled by getting out of water. Forcing you to not stay underwater like a coward the entire game.... Well that's what I think but apparently you can stay underwater for nearly 20 minutes straight despite that timer x)

I noticed all the novice players gravitate to the Uboats while the experienced and often unicum players all go to the American subs lol.
Uboats are better at countering other subs, while US is better at working in tandem with friendly ships.

As they isolate themselves, do nothing to put pressure on the subs battery, let him ping freely rarely using asw. When they do use asw they drop it on the ping with no attempt to lead.

WG finally highlighting what is wrong with the game at this time. What we need to follow this up is a Supership game with a Super CV, a full showcase of the current broken status of the game. "Why you should avoid downloading this game" in one easy replay. You played this game for 6 years and enjoyed it, well we are here to make sure you uninstall with this set of replays. Why do DDs torps take so long to reload? Dunno, use a sub and reload in 30 sec with a homing mechanic. Games used to be exciting, now they're passive and boring AF. Well done WG for breaking what was a great game.
After watching Wolfpack345 playing Silent Hunter the Balao will forever be the Bally-Oh. Mind you - that's a proper game focussed on reality, which is the opposite of WoWs, which is so mind bogglingly unrealistic it's a joke arcade game.

Between the economy/flag/camo update and the submarines, Wargaming has killed any desire I once had to play Warships.
What I find strange played the console version and the pc version ummmm still have not seen any subs like not one
