    I had intalled these headlights on my old 96 F150 back in 2011 (paid something like $500 for them), and I absolutely hated them! Zero adjustability, beam pattern was super wonky. I had to install PIAA driving lights in order to see at night. Kudos to you being able to figure out a way to adjust them. Ultimately, I went with some crystal housings with LED bulbs which were still OK. .I just found these aftermarket headlights provided abysmal performance. They were just junk.

    Your synopsis of sausage fingers fitting into tight places, and dropping parts, the ensuing search, and finding stuff in the driveway the next day very accurately sums up my mechanical experience/adventures. Good times! Thank you Tinman!

    After watching this I am glad the lights on my F150 are still I great shape. What an ordeal to have to go through to change headlights. I felt your pain my friend. 👍

      This whole project probably took 4 hours.

    I.ve got a 95 F150, and even as hazy as the headlight lenses are they are still brighter than the old sealed beams I grew up with. I may look into these lights when I get mine back on the road.

    Thank you for this. I upgraded mine to the best bulbs I could get for the factory lights and although it was definitely a big improvement, the rainy nights still leave me desiring something just a little better so maybe I’ll have to give those a try.

    Totally agree about the engineers!!!!!! Wife's Acura, have to remove the bumper, plus, just to change the bulbs!

    I call that a big little job...😂. Nice to see it all come together. It spices up the old truck nicely. TC Mahalo Tinman🤙🤙🤙

    Greetings to you Tinman. I have an old 98 Dodge 2500. I’m going to upgrade my lights as well. Although I am not a huge Ford fan, I would absolutely own an old 7.3 “Powersmoke”. I actually own 2 old 2500’s and a parts 3500 that I am going to turn one into a dually. I do welding for myself and a lot of the time I am welding on heavy equipment and logging equipment. My son and I had a 2nd gen dually with a welding bed that was pretty worn out, but it was definitely a plus when I had to get back in the woods. I will always own one of these old beasts because I am pretty decent at wrenching on them. Have a great day brother and be careful out there. Hope “Tingirl” is enjoying her new swing set. My grandkids sure love theirs. 🤙🤙

      I'm a "good truck" fan. I'd rock a cummins or duramax if the price was right

      @@tinmanssaws I have 3 2nd gen Dodges with the Cummins in them. At 53 , I like things fairly simple. I’ve become a pretty decent Mechanic on them and I just can’t see myself with a newer truck. My wife has the nice ride. My trucks are tools, like all the other equipment that I own. I’m a pipe welder and fitter by trade, so I know all about you Tin Knockers and I know that you completely understand the value of good tools. I guess my addictive personality has spilled over to the chainsaw side as well😂🤣. My daily is a 98 that I bought from my father in law a couple of years back and it’s pretty much all original. True to Dodge form, the tranny crapped the bed shortly after I got it from him, but I already knew it was on the way out. A kid near me is a transmission savant rebuilt it almost 2 years ago and with 225k on the clock, and 30 k since the rebuild, I wouldn’t hesitate to take it across the country. Only the mechanically inclined and folks with a love for the particular vehicle should own them. Kinda like Buckin’s old trucks, they were built to last. Our trucks were on the tail end of that mindset. But , I’d jump on an old 7.3 Ford in second if it was a good deal, as well. Hope you have a safe week and be careful out there brother. Much love to you. 🤙🤙🤙

    I’m with you tinman. I can’t see nothing in mine. I have two pods on my bumper and a roof light. If I’d do it again I’d put a smaller bar in front of my grill. It won’t shine the hood and light the cab

    Your doing good work there friend. I think you know. A little low will be perfect for not blinding on coming traffic when your hauling. Still looking for your 272k conversion series. You did do one I’m almost sure of it???

    • @tinmanssaws
      @tinmanssaws  7 місяців тому +1

      I dont think I've done a 272k..
      With the heat suspension and air bags in this truck it's rare that I get any squat even towing 10k ..

    Chrome vinyl wrap could be an option for the outside of the lights

    Definitely not as easy to change out as the 88-06 GM full-size headlights, but they look great!

    That's the main reason I dislike Ford, I find them engineered to be difficult to work on.

    • @tinmanssaws
      @tinmanssaws  7 місяців тому

      Some stuff on them is that way for sure. I find the rest of the truck to be very simple to work on.
