How to replace headlights on a 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 Ford F150, F250, F350. Here's a link for the headlights from Amazon: www.amazon.com...
Gotta love Ford and their crazy designs. I just replaced mine and it was almost comical how much work it was to replace them. It wasn't real hard to do but it was very time consuming.
Just tore mine apart about 5 mins ago while watching your video on my phone. Thank you for doing such a thorough job. I was a little scared to try it till I watched your video. Only thing I'd add is the dang stock horn is in the way on the passenger side. Otherwise I followed step by step and it was pretty painless. Thank you! Keep up the good work and keep that truck looking good.
Thanks for the well detailed video. Was expecting this to be as easy as 123 and discovered its a easy as 2÷3. Didn't realize you basically half to take the whole front off just to replace some headlights!
You were spot on with the instructions. Thanks for the great how to. The clips were the hardest part. They were a bear to get off due to all the dirt "welding" them to the plastic. One additional step I did was to remove the batteries. I could not get my arm in far enough to remove the marker light bolts with them in place.
A far cry from garbage my friend. I bought my 97 f250 7.3 4x4 new. Paid $27k. It's 23 years old now with 250k on it. Still runs like a top. It's just starting to rust under the paint by the bed wheelwells. Besides the normal tires, brakes, batteries, and a few sensors, my truck has been awesome. Actually 100% rock solid. Still getting 17mpg too. I never got stuck with this truck. I put a 2800lb slide in truck camper on the back and have over 50k miles driving on long island beaches. Since buying this truck, my brother has gone through 2 dodge and 1 Chevy truck. He is back with ford now. One friend has 780,000 miles on his truck. Ford mechanics call the 7.3 powerstroke,"the million mile motor". Say that. Million mile motor. Plus you can double the horsepower and torque with a few minor mods if that's your thing. The craziest thing is that similar 94-97 f250/350 7.3 trucks are selling for $12k-$24k and mine is in better shape. I've seen some over $30k. You will never see a dodge or Chevy from any year hold the value like a 94-97 f250/350 with the 7.3 powerstroke. It's the best pickup truck ever made period!!!
The amount of work it takes just to get the headlight assemblies out is mind blowing what the hell is Ford thinking when they did all this stuff they have to be the hardest vehicle I've ever had to work on
I love my '93 7.5 F250 with 1-ton suspension and yes, a gasser. Drove it from California to Florida and back in 2007 with no problems; in fact sound as a rock. Gas mileage terrible, but I don't miss the diesel gargle sound and it's not my main town vehicle. Trigger's quiet as a church mouse. That said, I will have a diesel someday too. Love the 7.3 culture. Very helpful video. Thank you~~
Good video, for my 97 f250, I found it easier to get at the lower turn signal nuts by going at it from underneath. While peeling back the inner fender liner, 7/16 did the trick!
This is what I have been doing all day....will finish tomorrow. Big job but this video helped out a lot!! I got the headlights, corner lights and turn signals so it is a bit more involved. The nuts on the inside of the hood on backside of lights is a super pain in the.....knuckles. The only good thing about this...I will never do it again!
Great video I've watched this before and it is really helpful. Been trying to figure out how to replace the headlights properly. This is my first vehicle and I'm glad that I get to get it back running.
Thanks bub, For what is worth I Took the extra time and pulled the battery and Battery rest out and it made it a breeze, "You helped me get the job done with out destroying ole Betsy"! Awesome stuff
Good video. I'm gonna put in some new headlights on my 96 f150. Just put new ones on my 96 mustang and that was wayyy more of pita than I expected. Looks like my truck won't be much better lol. Your video gives me more confidence tho. ✌️
Thanks for the nice straight forward video. I just changed the lights on my wife's Acura MDX. Like most things I do the first time, the first side took about three hours and the other side took about an hour! I'm going to do my '95 F350 tomorrow and it looks a lot easier especially thanks to your video.
Good Vidio. Few Suggestions. - You not need to remove the Big Black Plastic Part. You can reach in from the Outside with Needle Nose Plyers and Pull ALL Clip from Outside. - If you use Snap Ring Plyers on the 3 Clips. It's a lot easier.
thank you. my middle bolt on the grill just disintegrated and broke off the plastic trim. regardless your video is very helpful! why would they make it easy lol
I got mine all chromed out and now i cant do it i got work at 3am right now 7pm next week im gonna watch this again and see how it goes thanks for explaining!
Love the video, but when you took the head light retainers out the top ones are able to be taken out through the top just take the rubber piece you pulled up on to show use, but also taking the whole thing out is easier for the bottom one
About how much time does this take? I noticed that you didn't have to remove the batteries to get your ratchet down there or to recover those 11mm nuts. Lucky you! Great tutorial 👌
Hey I have a 97 f350 7.3 manual and I’m looking for LED lights I found some part number 9007 and it wants me to get the conversion kit do I need it or not and for my side lights what would you recommend for those LED as well
What a royal pain in the ass, my wife has a Honda and it took me 15 min to replace both, lol😂 Thank You for this video tho, truck looks a lot better with the new headlights!
Can you just replace the lense covering the headlights? It appears there's clips holding them on (?) I just need new lenses and not the entire headlight....

Gone was the bulletproof 4.9 straight six to the beginning of the spark plug debacle that plagued the V-8 engines as well as the new for 1997 V-6. So great video but it doesn't cover any F150 beginning in 1997.
I know this is an old video, but where did you buy those extra clips for the back of the headlights for those adjusting nuts? I can't find them anywhere.
That stinks! The ones I got were only $50 or so and seem to work well if you want to switch back. I think the OBS trucks look good enough as is, figured the 'original' look was the way to go.
I don't fully remember what I had; they were Nitto Terra Grapplers maybe? Not sure if I had a bad batch, but two of them started to have their tread separate on me. I replaced them with some BF Goodrich all terrain's and haven't had an issue.
Who ever designed that...Was not much of an Engineer... Engineers are taught to design things to simplify the operation of changing them in and out easily !!!!!
🤣🤣🤣 if you believe that then I have a bridge for sale. As a heavy truck mechanic I've found very few engineers that seem interested in making it easy to work on. Especially Volvo class 8 trucks.
These headlights are okay, probably not quite as good as OEM. I had some trouble getting one of the headlight clips on and ended up cracking part of the black plastic support in the process. They are a little loose from the adjuster mechanism, but for the price they work and look great! Considering how cheap they are, I'd probably get the same ones again if I were to redo it. Just be ready with a pocket knife to whittle away some plastic on at least one of the headlight retainers.
