This looks delicious! Also, I want to say thank you for showing your "mistake" when the caramel boiled over - I think a lot of people would have done it the same way, so now we all know! I'm glad that it seems nobody got a bad sugar burn. It would have been very easy to cut that moment out and just say later "don't add the baking soda too soon or it'll boil over", but you left it in for us :)

I love to make kettle corn in my popper. Its 1/4c sugar, 1/4c oil, 1/2c popcorn, and 1/2-1tsp salt. Dump it all in the pot and keep stiring. Tastes just like the fair but for WAY less.

I made 6 gallons of homemade caramel corn this week. My recipe calls for corn syrup and it never occurred to me that maple syrup could be used instead. I bet yours is delicious and I'm sorry I won't be able to try it out until some point next year. I also add cocktail peanuts to mine. Thank you for another wonderful video. Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

@@Cassieroll I pour the caramel over the popcorn and then dump the nuts on top before stirring. They don't stick to the popcorn but are a nice addition. I make it every year because the family all asks for it. I'm really looking forward to trying out the maple syrup version!

I make maple flavored popcorn. After the corn pops, I put it into a large bowl, then melt some butter in the pan and add some maple syrup to it. I pour the maple and butter mixture over the popcorn, add salt and mix it together. It is a little sticky, but does not clump up at all. Delicious!
Sometimes I grate some sharp cheddar cheese over the popcorn instead of using maple syrup. Also delicious!

Tip you might like: you can pop your corn and put it in paper sacks (paper grocery bags) when your Carmel is ready you pour it over the popped corn, fold the bag closed and shake shake shake the bag until the corn is coated well. Then you can spread it on your trays and bake.

My mother was a candy maker and often had her batches start to boil over. She would take a larger tablespoon of cream and drip some of the cream into the boiling candy. Just a few drops settles it right down and of course you don't want to use any more than a few drops at a time. She did it when she made peanut brittle, caramel and fudge. I miss her peanut brittle at Christmas time. It was so delicious and a special treat.

Part of my family on my late father's side live in Iowa and how I miss the summers there as a child. I was born and raised in the city and have longed for the farm life since a child. Now to keep binge watching your videos.... my down time in the evenings.

Just love you and your family! Thank you for the great footage and tips, now and throughout the year. And I see you have a budding drummer, what fun for you! 🙂 I'm married to a drummer and we have a few drum sets on the property (priorities, right?). Merry Christmas to you all!

You have a fine crew of apprentice cooks there. I know they will enjoy all of your treats more because they helped to make them. Have a joyful Christmas.

Our recipe for Carmel popcorn is so very similar! I think the only difference is that it has both maple syrup and honey in it instead of the corn syrup & brown sugar.
