Apparently my reply to your question was lost somewhere in the internet. Yes, I have many of their shirts in differing weaves and materials. Mostly with their classic spread and button down collars. All are of quality material and craftsmanship. My only regret is that I discovered them after spending lots of money on made to measure shirts. I also have a very nice sport coat from them, that after a few simple alterations, fits me almost as well as my made to measure jackets. For some reason their trousers don't work as well on me as the cut from a department store in my area. Thanks Lukas@@Lukas_Schanderl
I owned several polo shirts from Spier Mackay for few years. They hold up well. In my opinion, it is much better than Ralph Lauren which lacks satorial details.
I can’t recommend Spier & MacKay enough either. I’ve placed four orders with them now. And had the opportunity to use their customer service and they are fantastic.
Do you have experience with polo shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt? I never owned polo shirts before and would like to buy some. As a student I'm on a tight budget, so the welcome offer from them where you get 3 polo shirts for 99€ is very appealing for me.
Thanks for watching :) I only tried their shirts (also with the 99Euro offer) but not their polos yet. I think they should be pretty good and if not, they handle returns pretty easily. Had to return a few shirts and the whole process was pretty easy.
Thanks for watching, Matt. I noticed some minor fading now after many wears, but it's hardly noticeable. In my opinion, definitely still the best polos I found at that price point.
Thanks for watching, Timoh. Sunspel is one of the brands on my list to try out. I love that they produce in Portugal and the reviews are great. They are currently just a bit above my budget. But in the long run, probably a better choice.
@@Lukas_Schanderl Same for me. But it would be interesting to see if it's worth the extra money and what Polo shirt is the sweet spot for price, quality, feel and longevity.
Without trying to derail the comments section, can you give some more details on the Korean polo shirt? I know it's more money but now I'm very curious about it.
The brand is called IOLO I don't know that much about them, but they have quite a few nice minimal pieces: shop.thedecorumbkk.com/collections/iolo iolokorea.com/
When I was in Toronto, Canada you could get polos 5 for $10 in Chinatown. lol Sadly I did not know of Spier & MacKay at the time or I could have stopped into their Toronto store. I'll check them out for turtlenecks since they are very rare in thrift shops. I wear polo shirts everyday at work while others wear t-shirts. I got my first long sleeve polo in wool from a charity shop a month ago and it is the first one I could also wear with wool dress pants.
That's awesome. Long sleeved polos do look pretty classy, especially if your colleagues are all wearing t-shirts. I wonder how long the $2 Chinatown polos would last 😂
Thanks for watching :) My hips are also a bit on the wider side, definitely not a V-shape, and they fit me pretty well. They are not too slim around the waist and not too baggy, but I guess depending on the size of the muffin top, it might be a good idea to size up. They do have a good sizing guide on their product page, so you can measure and double check the waist, shoulder and chest area. I think if you live in the US or Canada, returns would be quite easy and cheap if they don't fit.
@@Lukas_Schanderl Yes, they use some extremely nice fabrics and are often cut really well too (at least for me). One brand I surprisingly don't like as much is Sunspel - they get a lot of praise for their polos, but I think they're kinda odd looking and not as high quality as Theory or Snyder.
You're selling me more on their products. Still need to pick up that turtle neck. Probably when I get back from Indonesia if it's still on their website :). In terms of polo shirts, I tend to wear Land's End supima cotton polos and am quite happy with them.
Ha yeah I went on a little shopping spree on their Black Friday sale 😅 Good for my wardrobe but not for my wallet. Hope you have a great trip 👌 I'm in Thailand at the moment and definitely not missing the weather back home 😁 I'll have to take a look at the Lands End polos :) Hope you can still get the turtle neck
How's Proper Cloth and their quality? Their stuff looks fantastic, :) No wonder you want to save a bit :D Great to hear :) I studied and worked here like 9 years ago and my girlfriend is from here, so I'll stay here for a while :) What brings you to Indonesia? I'll have to check out Lands End for sure :) Ha I would have failed that version of dry january already :D Enjoy your trip 👌
@@Lukas_Schanderl I love PC shirts, especially after I went to their New York store and had them do a proper fitting for me. Most of my shirts are from them now. Nice that you have that connection to Thailand! I've been to Bangkok once, and hope to get back there again sometime. I'm in Indonesia for work- we're hosting a global event here in October and I'm doing prep work. Land's End is worth looking at, especially when things are on sale. I'm going to do my best to last til the end of the month, other than the batik shirt :) Thanks, you too!
@@SimonChambers That's great to hear. How are their suits? I really like that they make it very difficult to chose weird patterns or colors on their website :D Let me know when you are ever in Bangkok. Yes, I love Asia and especially Thailand, Korea and Japan. Awesome, hope your event will go well :)
@@Lukas_Schanderl I haven't tried their suits, only their shirts. My suits are made by Mr. Cavaliere, a MTM shop in Toronto that I love. I will let you know if I get back to Bangkok for sure! before i pay for paul&shark i go for 100% merino wool, especially joe merino. i have several knitted t shirts of them and they are from superb quality. i also wore them in tokyo summer and i'll swear of the cooling aspect of merino wool. you just sweat differently and it doesnt feel bad.@@MBGLS_500
Yeah I agree. They are pretty good with returns, though (at least in my experience) One of my polos had a hole, and they just send me a new one at no charge, without having to return the old one.

Totally agree. Style & quality to price ratio is tough to beat. Spier and Mackay's shirt collars are better than most, all at this price point.
Thanks for watching, Arthur.
100% correct. Have you tried their regular shirts as well? I only tried their polo shirts yet.

Thanks for sharing 👌 That's good to know.
I totally agree. They do look a lot more unique than the avergae polo shirt.
Do they have int'l shipping? On their website it seems that they are offering shipping only in Canada and in the US
They ship almost to every country. I ordered to Thailand before but you might have to pay extra customs and duties.
I can’t recommend Spier & MacKay enough either. I’ve placed four orders with them now. And had the opportunity to use their customer service and they are fantastic.

Thank you, David.

Where can we get them in Europe?
Thanks for watching, Max.
You can only order them online at the Spier & Mackay website.
They deliver all across Europe.
May I ask how tall are you and how much do you weigh? Or what size do you think I would need? I’m 6’2 and 210 with an athletic build.
I think the same definitely one of the best brand for the price.

How does it compare to sunspel?
I haven't tried Sunspel, but my guess would be that the quality pales in comparison to sunspel.
However, the price is also significantly lower.

65 cm I think for the long sleeved one. They do have pretty good measurements guides on their website
