This was great!!! I’d love to see a video of the makeup that flatters you most based on your beautiful True Winter!! Stunning!!! I didn’t see Winter for you at first. I'm an oldie 😅, I turn 58 in April, so I was around the first time that Color Analysis was super popular with the Carole Jackson book, in the early 80's. My BFF had a Color Analysis Party when we were sixteen, with 2 guides or whatever you call the people who analyze you, I was so disappointed as everyone else got a concise analysis but they argued over me and couldn't decide which season I am supposed to be, I was tramatized 😂😅. I'm pretty sure I'm a deep summer but not sure. My coloring is a little unique as my father is Portuguese and my mum Irish, so I came out with quite a mix of both 😊

@@slashedbeauty I am pretty sure that I'm a deep summer, I tend to look better in what one would call marbled or muted colored fabrics and I definitely blush way more pink than peach etc - I think it was a bit harder for them I'm the old days if one's coloring was a little different than the majority. I also don't look very good in black, unless it's mixed with other colors that are softer, then it looks fine. I'd describe my colouring as very similar to Katie Holmes, with just a very slight more tone to my skin....

@@PodieM18 Sorry to say but whoever analyzed you sucked!!! I grew up watching my mom analyze thousands of people and never once was it not crystal clear which color a person was. My mom learned from Carol Jackson in the 70s. She had hundreds of fabric swatches for each season. She would never do a party like you described. She would take a full hour swatching and then teaching a person their colors. Carole did not teach sub categories. Instead, out of all the colors in each season, there are certain areas of the color palette that will be a person's favorite and the most used which was also usually the most flattering. As a professionally trained and licensed makeup artist, working with every skin tone imaginable, I have never not known a person's season while working on them. The color analysis system was something I learned literally all of my childhood. Sorry you never got a good reading. All my best to you!

I haven't watched the video yet but I know from watching you, you are a winter. My mom was trained by the woman that created color analysis Carole Jackson. She wrote the original book "Color Me Beautiful" in the 1970s. There have been numerous books with the same name with inaccurate information and strange additional categories. Jackson's book and analysis is the most accurate and straightforward. I was trained in color analysis and color principles for makeup and fashion literally all my life. I saw that someone said Tati is a soft summer. Nope, she is absolutely not. As my mom always said, "When you are young and beautiful you can wear any color but you will always look and feel your best in your correct colors". I can see from the thumbnail you had fabric swatches draped around you. That is Carole Jackson's technique and the only way to get a true reading. An online questionnaire or filter will never be very reliable or accurate. Hope all is well with you. I will do an edit after I watch the video to give my opinion on the accuracy of your reading. All my best!!!
(EDIT) LOL LOL LOL in the first 5 minutes it was so much of the same information about Carole Jackson that I wrote above lol lol. No suprise for me, you are a winter. Carole would not agree with the way you were draped with the multi color swatches. It was interesting seeing how different her information was that was not taught by Carole but someone that learned from her and a different method with sub categories. Carole would disagree with the multi category information. Also my mom literally had hundreds of fabric swatches. I'd say several hundred per season. You were not told about the pastel colors that are great during spring and summer that are classified as winter and look great on you. My mom called them "ice pastels". I saw only a couple in her swatch she gave you. It is all your winter colors just super pale. Not muted with gray just an extremly pale pink, purple, green etc. Also in regards to the makeup, now you know purple is not necessarily a warm color yet I see people call it warm all the time. Yes there is a warm purple but most are cool toned. If you are not sure about a makeup and it's tone just put a swatch of yellow and blue next to it. You will be able to see if it is blue based or yellow based very easily. Hopefully this will help stop others in the industry from calling cool colors warm. It drives me crazy lol. GREAT VIDEO. It is wonderful that true color analysis is becoming popular. Too bad there is so much garbage information around. ❤❤

I did predict your season. But that's because I'm a True Winter too! lol I was draped by a pro myself last year. The only thing I can tell people who "can't see it" is that you absolutely would in person. There's nothing to argue about in that pure lighting. It's instantly evident. These are stunning on you! Over the past year, I've edited and curated my closet to be a True Winter wardrobe, and I'm having so much fun with it. I even bought Winter yellow in a couple of tops - when I had refused to wear yellow my entire life. (That's because citrus/lemon yellow is a challenge to find.) But I like it now! Glad you enjoyed your experience. Lila's obviously good at what she does. :)

Most olive toned skin tones are cool and categorized as winter. The majority of the population actually are winter. An olive complexion in no way means your undertone is warm. Carole Jackson's book "Color Me Beautiful" describes this far better than I can. I have extremely fair olive toned skin and I am a winter.

@@cath3rine9 if you have fair to light skin you are a winter. I disagree with this deep, true, light winter analysis. I believe in the system invented by the originator Carole Jackson. I don't just like having the information for myself,I know what colors I like - but it helps to have a way to describe the overall colors to someone else. Like grey blue shades, icy cool, jewel tone, creamy warm, brownish antique, etc. rather than try to describe that I like cool fresh colors like water and apple blossom pink but I also don't mind a grey blue which doesn't sound clear colored,or red which doesn't immediately present itself in the cool water category . I'd then try to say....so....beachy tones? And just have so much trouble describing that I wanted an off-white and not an ivory. Or understand why lavender and blue looks nice but dark indigo blue purples don't suit me when blue is my color. It's so much easier to explain the overall composition to people familiar with color analysis when I'm looking around at shops.

Why is the analyst completely removing each drape and then replacing it with another? I thought the idea was to compare different drapes with each other (watching the effects on the skin), not in isolation. As in, compare what happens to the skin with a cool drape and a warm drape, one on top of the other, quickly, back and forth, several times. Not totally remove the drape. 🤔

It is important to have only one color at a time. In person, it is easy to see how the color reacts to the skin tone, eye color and lip color. It would not be easy to see how it looks if you had a swatch on each shoulder because they would be competing or canceling each other out.

The thing she utterly missed while talking about foundation shades is that your foundation needs to match your OVERtone. You have a cool UNDERtone. You can absolutely have a cool UNDERtone with a neutral or warm OVERtone. They are very, very different things. I'd say you have a cool undertone with a neutral to warm overtone. This also explains why your undertone is not that apparent- it's almost like it's camouflaged a bit by your overtone. Additionally, this is why alot of more neutral or less extremely warm colors aren't awful on you. 😊

I'm dying to get a color analysis done. My family was obsessed with Color Me Beautiful in the 80's, and always said I was a Summer, but I don't feel like that ever really fit. I'm cool to neutral with low intensity, so I think I sit on the Summer/Autumn borderline. Brights overpower me, pastels are too dull, overly warm tones are awful, and overly cool tones are just off, even though my skin is extremely rosy. Lol. It's so hard to figure yourself out, but obvious when you see an analysis done. I think all of this is fascinating! Color Analysis Studio here on YT does amazing videos explaining it all. Great video, btw!

Why not testing the neutrals? You’re a neutral.
