    Have you guys heard about color draping or color analysis? My sister and I went to House of Colour in Louisville to get color draped and discover what our season was. Everyone is categorized into a season, either warm-toned Autumn and Spring, or cool-toned, Winter and Summer. If your skin tone and hair have a warm undertone, or you are a natural red-head, you would be either be a spring or an Autumn; if your skin has a blue-ash, cool undertone and your hair is more ashy and has no golden or red highlights, you are either a Summer or a Winter. Seasonal color analysis is a tool designed to help us figure out the colors that are like our natural eye, hair and skin color. When wearing your proper colors, our skin looks brighter, eyes clearer and smiles whiter.
    My sister and I had such a fun time getting color-draped and discovering our seasons!!! Watch to see the color draping process and discover what our seasons are!!

    When I was a teenager, I went to an activity for young women at church where they did this. They told me I'm a spring and I couldn't understand that since I was born in August, LOL.

    If you love a colour but it drains you, just put a scarf of your season around your neck, as it will lift your skin tone, allowing you to wear the colour you love

    I had my colors done at House of Colour, and I was recently draped as an Autumn! Not only was it an eye opening experience. It changed my fashion sense and makeup choices for the better. I now look radiant and glowing!

      I studied the "Color Me Beautiful" book in earnest in the 80s. Over time, I began to realize what a huge difference the proper shades of clothing and jewelry make in terms of a person looking their best. I used to share this information with others, adults and students, when asked, but stopped when I heard one too many, "but I like that color!" or, "but I'm born in April!" or, "I look good in blue!" (Of course, you can like a color without it being flattering on you, be born at any time with no relevance to seasonal color analysis, and look good in certain shades of blue, depending on "season.") Happily, I see many people who seem to instinctively grasp what shades make them pop. Enjoy the glow!

    You know you are actually very close to eachother when it comes to the seasons? Bright winter is the sister season of bright spring. Winter is just slightly darker and of course cooler and spring slightly lighter and warmer. But the brightness is the main characteristic, something you both have in common. Wonderful video!

    Thanks for posting this! It was fun seeing the whole process. I've been interested in color theory/ analysis the past few months and I've bought some clothes which align to my palette (autumn). However, I wish I've known about this years ago! I now have many clothes that don't really suit me & I don't want to give/ discard. I guess I'll still wear them and put more makeup on! 😂 Thanks again. 👍🏼💐

      Thanks so much for the feedback! I just got my colors done last weekend and I am Spring too 😀
      I feel the process is very empowering but the trick is finding pieces in our colors especially since fashion and colors carried in the stores is so variable. The first few stores I went to had no Spring colors except one shirt so it is helpful to have an idea of where else to try!

      Ann Taylor has great Winter colors, Lulus is an affordable online store with tons of colors, I love Nordstrom, Zara and Anthropologie too! If you follow House of Colour consultants online, they are always recommending stores to shop at based on your season.

    I have a specific question! Because I'm quite confused. Is the vein test accurate?

    • @aenirrinea523
      @aenirrinea523 Рік тому +1

      It's (mostly) accurate when you're deciding whether you have a cool, warm or neutral undertone. But the vein test alone won't give you your season.

    • @Lucy-eh6rc
      @Lucy-eh6rc Рік тому +2

      It's really not accurate. There are scientific researches that tell why the colours of veins are different and it's really not for the temperature.

    This system leaves out the neutral seasons.. the 12 tone system is completely inclusive to everyone on this planet. Unfortunately four season isn’t realistic because most people are a blend

    • @betsybender3125
      @betsybender3125 2 роки тому +3

      HOC is more than just four seasons. It super in depth!

    • @danyale06
      @danyale06 Рік тому

      It’s actually a 16 season system. They promote the main 4 seasons. It may at first look like HOC promotes the 4 season Carole Jackson Color Me A Season method. However, it breaks down each 4 seasons into 4 sub seasons which would be equivalent to the typical 12 to 16 season flows. They even show what type of winter the first person was. They had 4 categories for winter.

    Is it possible, now hear me out, this is using our own psychology to trick us? She says one color does one thing and we don’t immediately see it, until she tells us to see it a certain way. I’m wondering if that’s a big part of it. Don’t get me wrong, everyone has colors that really just don’t work for them. My concern is that we have to pay 100-200 even more for this and we start to see what the consultants are telling us to see. I wonder if it would be the same if she didn’t say anything and we simply analyzed it for ourselves without her mentioning. Like I’m wildly curious about this.
