The references to 3D model tops off the already excellent video quality and makes understanding the part locations so much easier for those not familiar with the Datto. Well done.
I said it once and i will say it again. You are an inspiration. I've watch this clip with so much excitement. Thanks to your videos i will begin this year to restore my 1200. Greeting from Curacao.
Awesome animations to go along with the restoration of parts! Helped me understand where goes what. Amazing job as always! 🔥👀 Keen for the next episode! ❤️ Her face at the end ❤️
You had me with the animations 🙌 Just stumbled onto here and started binging all the episodes. Finished a couple days back I have been waiting the next upload.
Shout out from Zimbabwe in Africa..I own a Datsun 1200 2 door sedan and this channel is making it POSSIBLE.. I have taken the engine out already and am looking forward to attacking my front suspension after seeing how easy is (or you make it look)..✌️👊👊👊
Hi Tauriq, yeah I've been good! Hope you are too :) I'm following the conversations in the background, I'm a shy guy haha Awesome cars and projects going on!
Mate your videos are always so good! Instant clicks from me. Wish I had half your knowledge and skills lol.. Cheers from a 120Y datto owner in Melbourne!
@@32Builds Definetly. Seeing how you do it with limited space and simple tools is helpful and inspirational. couldnt ask for any better on how to do A to Z on exactly the same engine as my car! Cheers
I love your work mate.. I got a Datsun sunny ,I need you help I got hit on the left side back panel and I need you to upload a video that shows how to take that panel out for a new one🙏🙏
Aww man, that sucks to hear! I removed my rear quarter panel before I started making videos. You have to drill out the spot welds around the edges of the panel, if remove some of the paint in those areas they become easer to see. Rear quarter panels suck cause they're welded into the frame :( I'll be making a video on the installation of the new ones some time down the track though! I hope everything turns out okay for you!
Been flicking through your vids tonight as I'd love to do a Datto 1200 ute resto myself. Huge props for doing this with basic tools, gear and space! She's quite a rusty ute for sure but loving the vids and progress. I feel your pain with the welding though! Learning on that old machine that doesn't seem to be working correctly would be super frustrating. The welds / tacks in previous vids seem to be blowing out in the middle, usually get this welding super dirty material, welding galvanized (but not as bad) or lack of shielding gas. It almost looks like there's no gas at all, so huge props for soldiering through that! Doubtful but if you happened to live near Bris I'd be more than happy to come suss out the welding or even lend some gear.
Cheers so much! I'm in Syd :( But I used to be around Mt Gravatt a while back! Yeah its a bit hard learning to weld at the same time learning to repair the welder xD I'm pretty sure a bit of gas is escaping from the old rubber hose + the wire feeder isn't working right and I've had to repair it. Takes a centimeter or so for it to get up to the proper feed speed. Taking a short break from welding at the moment, but I'll be back on it soon! I also got myself a cheap spot welder to test out in a future vid :))
es el mejor video de tren delantero del datsun 1200...yo tengo un 120y state wagon que necesito modificar solo los frenos delanteros que tienen a tambor...necesito saber cual disco comprar para colocar una adaptacion de frenos a discos...saludos desde paraguay.

I have notice that solenoid on carburetor dont have electric wire attach.maybe broken.if that is not working, engine may start but doesn´t idle.Keep on the good working.
Great video. Hey, a couple interesting things and questions! What size of rims (and offset) and tires are you using? I also notice that the steering box and be detach from the steering column! However, but for mine I believe that it can not be done. Steering box and column are attached together. Where are you located, Australia? My car is in Costa Rica.. Thank you..
Yes mate, I'm located in Australia. My wheels are Hayashi Racing - Street ST in 13x6 +7 for the front and 13x7 +6 on the rears. So interesting how much variance there are on these 1200s around the world :)
I think they're a custom build setup. Originally brakes from a sr-s13, but going to switch them out and make a new adaptor for the ca-s13 cause they'll fit the rims
Hello, I find this video very interesting, and very educational and I would like to know how I could obtain 3D modeling, I study automotive engineering and I want to present as a project an optimization of the lower control arm, for better performance
Sorry mate, I got them before I started the Channel, quite a while ago. I measured the parts with Vernier calipers and ordered them to suit. There's quite a few on eBay, but you have to double check all the specifications so it fits. The ones for the tie rod ends are actually quite tight so I could've gone larger
The red bushings are from Nolathane, and the Yellow dust covers I found by using a caliper to take the different measurements. The ones on the rod ends are a bit tight for my liking
The references to 3D model tops off the already excellent video quality and makes understanding the part locations so much easier for those not familiar with the Datto. Well done.
Cheers Alan! Thought it would be much more interesting rather than showing a pile of parts

Awesome I just did the front suspension on my 910 wagon the old ones were fucked. I put in the Laurel front setup it just bolts in as a complete set.
Nice! Eventually I wan't to replace most bits with new adjustable ones. One day :)

Are you gonna be upgrading anything like adding in powersteering or air conditioning?
I may go electrical air-con later down the track - with an upgraded alternator. Otherwise I don't think it needs power steering :)

Where did you get the new suspension parts?
Everything is original :) Only new bits are the bushings and boots
Hi, can you tell me where did you buy the pivot for your datsun?
hey mate.. what kind of front suspension do you use to fit in this car? is it custom make?
The coil over suspension is probably custom made (not by me) but the rest is all standard :)
