Quick tip on doing bodywork, when welding have a decently sized block of metal behind where you are welding, preferably copper, it helps dissipate the heat much better allowing you to use a higher amperage and in doing so getting a better weld, I love what you've done with this gem keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing some more
Thank you so much! I've started using a squished bit of copper pipe as a backing. My welder is quite old and the feed rate is inconsistent so its been tricky trying to get my skills consistent too!
I've been watching all your videos man. Congratulations for your amazing work. I'm starting to restore a 2 door 120y and I'm following what your doing! Keep going 🙌🏻
looking forward to seeing you tackle that roof rust, ive got similar issues with my 720, they were filled with bog and painted over years ago but i intend to fabricate new metal patches in at some point
Can u please finish her up this year im looking to start building mine. Here in south africa we call them Nissan 1400 same body but different headlights n engine size.Your info is very much useful👍
Be careful wiring up those lights, I put really similar ones on my coupe and because LEDs do not provide any resistance like the stock ones do I fried half of my loom. I think if you just beef up the wiring to the lights you should be good. Looks awesome man!
Excellent video. I am a great fan of the Datsun 1200. I have a Datsun B310 120Y that I have used for a while. However, the steering is unstable now and I can't use the car due to safety issues as a result of that. What should be checked. I tried getting a used steering box but it did not improve the situation. Please advise on what I should do....I miss driving the car :(
Thanks! Sorry to hear about your Datto - they're quite a simple car so you should be able to follow the components down from the steering wheel to see if anything moves out of the ordinary. Usually the Tie-rod ends give-out and introduce a bit of play in the steering. If nothing is wrong, good tyres and a wheel-alignment should do it good :)
Thanks so much! The bolts had uncommon thread pitches, lengths and unthreaded sections for sheer strength. Rather than source them I thought it'd be sufficient to re-plate them as they weren't in such a bad condition. Stuff like head bolts should be one-time use though.
hello from portugal!, when are you coming back? to put more videos and to see the finish of the datsun ?, and you can put all the information you applied on your restored pieces, paints, primers, sandpaper, and prices of all products and materials. I appreciate the videos I'm a subscriber to and I love how you explain the videos and I'm looking forward to more. hope to see you soon with more videos, thanks!
Hey mate! Thanks for watching :) New video should be up soon! I'll try my best including those bits of information in future videos, but a lot of the time its difficult recalling it in hindsight :)
Nice video. hey, what size of rims and offset do you have? I need to get rims for mine but I am not sure about the size. I will install 240sx rotors and brakes. Any help will be appreciated. thank you
I mightve missed it... but what front suspension/spindles are your running? As I also want to upgrade my 1200 Datto to S13 calipers and discs (have them already)
Where could you find reproduction doors that can be shipped worldwide? I'm trying to find doors for my datsun 210 79 and it's a hassle in my country to find any. Btw, that 1200 is looking great in every video!🙏🏻🔥
Thank you so much! I got my reproduction doors from a classic muscle car shop in Australia, so I'm not sure how they were able to get them! Datsun 210 might be a little harder to find too!
@@32Builds man no problem! Ohhhh damn soo they we're very limited too. And trust me man that is much harder, it's been months since I started searching for better doors but nothing less, it's not impossible just need very good dedication and patience. Anyways, I wanna see that 1200 on the road very soon!💯
You'll definitely spend less than a finished build, but what you save in money - you spend in time and effort! In my case it was beneficial to not have to pay the cost up front. Just slowly drip feeding it with time, effort and parts :)
It did flood! But I managed to tow the car up before hand :) Good thing I got the steering installed!! :) This weather aye, hope all is good in your hood!
Theres a couple re-sellers here in Australia. Otherwise theres a couple Japanese companies that ship worldwide too, just gotta do some googling and figuring out what works best for you :)
@@32Builds thanks dude. The truck is coming together amazing. I hope mine looks half as good lol. My front end is shot and the paint/bondo from the last owner is trashed. Bout the only good thing about her is the engine lol. Do you plan on making any modifications to the engine like aftermarket radiator or bike carbs or anythin later on down the road?
You might have said in the video, but where do you get all your parts? I always have so much trouble especially getting little parts for the engine. Suspension parts always cost a whole arm and leg too. :( any help??
For my suspension, everything except the coil overs are OEM, I just cleaned them up a little. The coil overs I got off second hand locally :) Super lucky! For the little engine parts, BProjects in japan has pretty much everything. If you're in Australia I get a lot of my aftermarket OEM replacements from Supercheap Auto or Repco. Then everything else I get from eBay re-sellers! I find heaps of my parts on eBay. Just make sure to double-check the seller. They often have they're own online or physical store. Including my bushings, every single polyurethane bushing and dust boot came from eBay :)
Good to see you back on the Build again!!
Haha feel like its the same story every episode! I'll be chugging along in the background XD
The wait is over ☺️

Great vid . keep at it Man ... She's coming along nicely.
Thanks so much :)) Slowly but surely she's coming back to life!
Who would have thought that watching split pins put in could be so satisfying ..Haha
Haha I'm glad you found it satisfying! I was thinking there was a bit too much of it while editing :D
Yeah boii! The build is back
Haha cheers Brian :)) The build is always here for ya!
Checked on you for a days ,but it's all worth it. Awesome clean build mate.
Thank you so much H !
Looking good mate
Cheers! :D
Loved this series, it's coming on really nice. You mention a company that does pressed parts for it. Got any details because I'm in need of parts too!
All I've got is the sticker that I show in the shot of the door. Otherwise I picked them up from a re-seller here in Austalia.
I've been watching all your videos man. Congratulations for your amazing work.
I'm starting to restore a 2 door 120y and I'm following what your doing! Keep going 🙌🏻
Awesome! Thanks so much :) I get a lot of 120y owners on here as well! Wish you the best on your restoration! :)
Menos que antes! Great Job!

Awesome build bro! Used to own a 1978 Toyota KE30.
Just wondering why you re-zinc all your bolts rather than replacing them?

Hey mate! They're Hayashi Racing - Street ST in 13x6 +7 for the front and 13x7 +6 on the rears :)
Perfect fitment for the stock guards!
It's asome how looks, I take a question, where you find all pieces? I try to find but I can't find it
Which pieces? I mainly find everything online :)

Dutsun b211 1200cc plz
Haha sorry, I don't see my self getting a b211 any time soon! But a lot of the principles and techniques are similar!

I found an eBay re-seller that sold me a Nolathane Kit. The front swaybar mount bushings are made by SuperPro.

Hi there, this is Liz from MXR, a brand of rebuilding and car parts. Are you interested in any UA-cam business collaborations?
Hey, thanks for the offer. Not looking for business collaborations at this point.
