    I would add for newer players who may not be comfortable fighting quads and mech sentinels, if you you don't destroy the summoner (triangular) sentinel it will keep calling in sentinels and your wanted level will never go up. You can effectively fight first wave sentinels as long as you want. I've collected hundreds of thousands of nanites doing it that way. With no real threat from the sentinels. Picking up some barrels during the fight also restores your shields.

    New player here, I was actually surprised that nobody was talking about that method, it seemed the most fun and effective method (if we put duping out of the equation). Happy to see a video on it, I like the arena idea, I'll surely implement that and create a base just for that. Great video!

      Thanks so much for watching! Just remember that this method is most effective if you have decent upgrades on your weapon. The faster you can delete these sentinels, the more drops you can collect.

      Thanks for watching. Correct. You can also farm pugneum and atlantideum from the same planet and combine in a medium refiner for runaway mold to create nanites. Even less hassle. I have a video on my channel demonstrating both methods. You should check it out.

    That's one way, very effective for sure fair play. Especially the battle arena build idea. Kudos!
    Another way, take out all healers and drones. Leave the spawner alone.
    The spawner will keep spawning drones endlessly. Keeping your 'wanted level' at 1.
    Making the farming easier for folks starting out.
    Keep taking out the drones.
    No walkers or quads to worry about.
    Edit: doing this will take a bit longer to get as many barrels as you did in the video,

      That's a thing I never really looked into. Do the different rarity capsules (blue for quads, purple for mechs) effect the rates for glass to drop?

    • @Default-Controller
      @Default-Controller 8 місяців тому

      @@armoduesgrimlock7677 quads drop quad cores and mechs drop hardframe units every time.
      Every barrel will refill some shield.
      Quad barrel fills half, mechs refill full shield
      Edit.Drop rate of glass seems to have been nerfed recently. Pugneum, glass and projectile ammo drops pretty evenly.
      I tend to carry 40k ammo as a rule anyway. So I never have to worry about that, but it also means I tend not to notice how much I pick up
      Edit 2There could be a different drop rate depending on 'wanted level' though. I haven't noticed personally, but could be worth looking into

    A proper Runaway Mould farm will produce way more nanites per hour. It takes a bit of time to find 2 spawns that are close enough, but once you do you will be gated by the number of refiners you have. Each refiner produces 1999n every 20m, so 15 refiners will match the pace of this sentinel farming strategy and you can farm enough mould to keep up with many more. The farm that I setup has 51 refiners and it takes ~15m to farm the mould and fill the refiners.

    • @OddManGaming
      @OddManGaming  8 місяців тому +2

      Thanks for watching. Correct. I've already made a video (on my channel) discussing farming curious deposits for runaway mound. You should check it out. Also, setting up refiners on your capital ship (freighter) will bypass the refiner build limit.

    my 1st 9 hour session i spent 8 hrs stuck in a cave then the last hour just killing sentinels. That was bad, got killed in the 3rd wave. But after i stayed inside, this was with the basic weapon and just a basic mod, no S tier anything, i managed to kill the sentinels. It was fun as hell and hard as hell.
    But ill try this method now. I dont even hide anymore when killing sentinels but the arena idea is great. I keep falling when running around avoiding the dam robo dog.

    • @OddManGaming

      Thanks for watching! One of the best early game techniques I used for farming sentinel upgrades was to find a shelter or building on an aggressive sentinel world. The sentinel drones will not attach you while you're in the structure, but you can shoot and destroy them. The quads and mechs will still attack you even if you're in cover, so you'll need to be careful.

    I'm probably just missing something simple, but how do you keep the sentinels coming non-stop to farm that many barrels?
    Even on the most aggressive planet I can find, they stop spawning after a handful of waves.

    • @OddManGaming
      @OddManGaming  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for watching. Interesting. Try maxing out the sentinel suppression level by destroying the summoner drones until you hit level 5. This should ensure that you have the max number of drones pursuing you.

      @@OddManGaming Maybe it's just me, or a glitch I found accidentally, but I discovered over the weekend that it might be the Laylaps drone causing problems. I have been playing with the drone active because I think it's funny, but the pet drone might be interfering with the sentinel spawns because I wasn't able to replicate your process with Laylaps active. However, when I put the drone away, I was able to farm summoned sentinels from a level 1 summoner for about an hour until I got tired of it and then wiped out everything through level 5 to deactivate them.
      I got about 50K nanites profit, plus a bunch of upgrades that I opened hoping they would be useful (only one was an improvement over what I already had), and about 4-5 million in credits from selling the other junk drops. So it does work for me now.
      I'll have to do some more testing, like maybe summon the Laylaps drone while actively in the middle of farming sentinels the next time I'm in the mood, to see if it stops working as soon as the pet drone arrives...

      Thanks for watching. You don't actually need to build an elaborate base to use this method. I recommend finding a structure, such as a shelter or any random building, on the extreme sentinel planet. You can actually stand in the doorway of a building and shoot sentinel drones without being shot at.

      Hello! Thanks for watching. I believe the planet is called Gumie Delta in the Euclid Galaxy (starter galaxy). It's the only hostile sentinel world in the star system. I'll need to get the glyphs for the system.
      If you ever run into uneven terrain when building, use your Terrain Manipulator (if you have one installed on your multitool) to flatten the area. IMO, building wooden structures are the easiest since they only require carbon as a building resource. Hope this helps.
