- Built 24v Cummins Dually, 1999 Dodge Ram 3500, some lugging, down shifting, rollers, walk around. Been working on it for a year now between welding, sand blasting, working on the motor, transmission work, etc.. too much to list, might do a build vid in the future...
That's is one good looking dodge right there. Love how it looks. These trucks look great in dark colors like that
Thanks man I appreciate it, right off the showroom floor back in the day they were perfect in my opinion. No need for ghetto wheels or cheap Chinese lights or any of that crap lol
Love the CAT motif. Thought about doing that myself. Sure does make a purty sound. :)
Thanks man, I didn't have any Cummins tan laying around so I used what I had lol and she definitely barks
@@rustybloodsaltysoul8640 You know... call me a blasphemer but I dont' really dig the cummins tan. Looks like there's dirt all over your engine. And just speaking for myself, I like something that shows leaks. I there's a leak... I want to know about it right away. Btw, as long as I have your ear (so to speak) have you ever heard of or used a Fumoto oil valve? Is so... what do you think?
@@throwaway692 I agree with ya 1000% on finding a leak and making it easier, as far as the oil valve no I haven't I'll have to look into it when I get a sec
Really, idk why i was nitpicking this truck is absolutely clean, the mirror upgrades are nice I have them on my 05 in chrome. The interior is nice minus the dash cover. Its really a great truck. I might would trade mine just for the manual and 4x4. But I like my flat bed and the 3rd gen platform
perfect display of beastery 🙏😎
Remember they're not race cars just great pulling truck . Thats nice
You know... after about the age of 30 I stopped caring about how fast I could go from 0-60. And I've noticed the Dodge gets up and goes plenty fast for getting on and off the interstate. I also enjoy the fact that I could tow Mt Everest around and hardly notice. ;)
Couldn't agree more. Built it very conservatively to just broaden its Powerband through each gear for towing/driving. S300 turbo, 50hp sticks, larger intake and charge pipes, etc on a conservative tune. Nothing too wild where it'll jeopardize the longevity of the motor. Doesn't take much to make these trucks pull like an old work Ox...
That is a beautiful 2nd gen. Nothing is more badass then a black dually 4x4 5speed truck. Like the color choose looks like a CAT engine, also smart thing using a aftermarket fuel pump keep that VP happy. Im glad you kept those wheels also i hate when people put aftermarket shit on a dually.
Thanks man, love the appreciation of the build so far. I'm the same way, just like em clean with a lil more power yet nothing too radical. Wait till you see it updated by the end of the month I think you'll like it. Front ends all painted & color matched also got bigger wheels with factory polished aluminum wheels to keep the factory look going. Update should be coming shortly.
what a beast!!! my dream truck right there!!! wish we had those in the middle east. stock , mint and not so flashy.
Would be sweet to have one imported over there but I'm sure the cost of logistics would be outrageous, would definitely be worth it tho lol
@@rustybloodsaltysoul8640 one day i will get one!
@@AdelJeffreyJeffreysAuto definitely! It'll be one in a million and honestly a massive investment if you got it over there so either way you can't lose! You'll get one man👊🏼
@@rustybloodsaltysoul8640 Amen brother!!
That body is in great shape too
Love the cat yellow on a cummins
Thanks man, me too. Had extra Cat paint laying around so just made sense. Really cleaned up the engine bay
That engine runs like song 🎶👍
Thanks man! She's definitely healthy👊🏼
Awesome truck man you have done it right 🙋♂️🇬🇧
Appreciate it brotha👊🏼
Wish mine was that clean, nice ride👍
I personally would take the sound of a diesel ANYDAY over a hemi.
I already know that the Mopar keyboard killers are cringing right now, getting ready to shoot sharp comments at me, but that's ok.
I just prefer diesel, just more reliable in the long run. That's all.
Absolutely. No reason one couldnt last 400k miles with attentive maintenance, that and diesel can sit for years without going bad, gas your lucky if it lasts 3 months now before the ethanol starts breaking down and gumming up the injectors etc. And reliable is right, you could p-pump swap it throw an air starter on and all you need is physics to run the damn thing lol
Very clean 2nd Gen 👍 never sell it !
Appreciate it man👊🏼👊🏼
I hear only one song. sweet dreams are made of these.....
🤣 "who am i to disagree"
[ looks, great ]👍
Appreciate that thank you✊🏼
Only thing it's missing are the oe heated seats...
Nice rig
As A Fellow Mechanic, someone has meticulously taken the time to paint match and put this together to a standard to set itself apart from the herd. Nice job!!! Unfortunately the metal around this awesome cummins is Dodge but I can appreciate what had been done.
Bought it with a front main seal leaking and balancer starting to go. Said to myself "well.....while I'm in there...." & that evolved into what it is lol. Appreciate the kind words and acknowledgement of the amount of work it took.
Lmao Put that engine in a ford or a Chevy it’ll rattle it to pieces just the same way those engines vibrate way more then any shitty V8 Powerjoke or durashit
@@ifyoutunnelyourass3821 you should see 4bt conversions....if you do typical rubber motor mounts your in for a rude awakening, need the fluid filled mounts to dampen the vibration. The inline 6's are much more balanced, and if you want to get fancy you can get $170 fluid filled mounts for 6bt's but having owned a few they're really not that bad till you shut em off lol rocks the whole truck
Your Truck is sweet!! That is all.
Appreciate it man 👊🏼
My ocd is killing me all that and didnt even change from the stock exhaust manifold 😢
I know exactly what your saying trust me lol, planning on doing stainless manifold at some point but the one on there is in great shape, once i have an excuse to gut it i'll drop the $1200 on the stainless T4 setup. Till then rockin the ugly one
I love my 94 12v
Absolute bad ass.
what kind of turbo are you running? truck sounds really good
Appreciate it, & S300
Very nice truck
Weather tech floor mats? I could never find um for our truck’s.
Yessir, 3rd gens floor mats fit ours pretty damn good. I have a separate vid showing the fitment
So how's this truck doing a year later?
At this very moment the right side of the motors torn apart, Injection pump, vacuum pump, powersteering pump, ecm, etc. I just finished Keating billet tappet cover couple weeks ago. While everything's gutted going to toss in the redhead steering box and borgeson steering shaft, have a high flow steering pump as well. I just have no time man work is running us dry it sucks.
Very nice
thats a clean ole girl
How much?
Sweeeeeeeeeet!
"Too much to list" is alway a cop out. It means you don't want to take the time to make the list. Just be honest.
Plus you don't need to list the dome light tinting or the oil filter pinstriping, just hit the big stuff.
Not one vid posted & you have a Playlist called "progressivism". Am I surprised by your uptight panty comment....not at all. Go up to any old timer with a butt hanging out his mouth with a restored autocar and ask him if there's "too much to list" he'll tell ya damn right use your friggin eyes if you know what your lookin at. Coming at someone sideways behind a keyboard has people way too comfortable these days...had you asked like a respectful person I would've thought about taking the time to lay it out but you sound arrogant as fuck
@@rustybloodsaltysoul8640 Not sure this is worth replying to as you obviously don't take criticism well but I'll give it a shot. I get that the reason for videos like this is to get one's ego stroked (tell me how awesome my truck is and what a great job I did) and it's nice to get some of that after putting your time, $, and busted knuckles into a project. When I didn't do that you came unglued and proceed to make arguments that have little or no bearing on the situation at hand.
Whether I've post zero or a thousand videos is irrelevant. If you think it is, please explain. And if you hadn't done the absolute minimum and skip out of my profile as soon as you found the "incriminating" evidence you were looking for you would have seen that the Progressivism playlist is making fun of progressives. But again, either way this has no bearing on my comment. If you think it does, please explain. You just made it a personal attack. Your whole post is basically the adult version of "Yeah, well, your a doo-doo head".
Next, if an "old timer" believes an Autocar resto has too much to list is again irrelevant. And it doesn't make it true. Also that has zero to do with your truck. I get that on a big project there gets a point where the list gets massive and it would be a crazy job to compile a list of every detail and no one would read through it all...but it could be done. And I was specific that that was not what I was talking about.
OK, I'll "use *my* friggin eyes if you know what your lookin at". Here's what I "see" on your truck. A dual disc South Bend clutch on a RAM billet flywheel, a full MBRP exhaust, an Industrial Injection Hot Rod VP44 with some DDP 75hp injectors and of course a KDP fix. How did I do? I had to squint really hard on those injectors. At first I thought they were 150s.
I agree that I wasn't the most polite but I also think that you took it in the worst light possible, almost like you were looking for a fight. It's hard to know the intent or feeling behind a comment so I try not to just down someone's throat until I feel I understand what it is that they really mean.
@@ToddKing I need you to read your first comment, then read it again but slower. Does it sound arrogant as all hell? Yes. Are you trying to tell another man what to do (which is a massive problem in today's society), yes. All you had to do was man the fuck up, and admit you were wrong so we can proceed instead of you wasting precious life writing a novel. How hard would it have been for you to use some common decency and been like "hey man would really appreciate a walk through vid explaining the parts, would really help out". The ego Comment gave me a good laugh, you don't hear my voice in it once, I'm not telling you to subscribe to my channel, I'm not telling you what mods you should do, I simply posted it for other like minded people who like a factory clean look without endless rambling, case and point. If you like those types of videos there's 1000's on here with 18yr old kids who won't shut up about their ebayed out 2nd gens that explain every part for 10 mins. The nose up I'm better & know everything egotistical comment came from you. That's the most ironic and comical part. So all I'm getting at, is to really think about how you sound before commenting on peoples shit. Your probably a great guy, would probably love to have a beer w/ you and shoot the shit about 5.9's, but gotta start off on the right foot. Respect is a mutual thing.
Gorgeous truck i got her little bro black 01 2500 4x4 ext cab short bed 24v what turbo is that an are you running an exhaust brake if so what kind?
Thanks man, and an S300 w/ 50 over injectors (they recommend 100hp sticks but not trying to dump soot everytime my foot touches the pedal, burns real clean the way she sits). No exhaust brake yet but a PacBrake will be on her stat

Paints the top of the motor CAT yellow
Damn right, portagee so we just make it work with what we have. I restored a 91 Cat so had some paint leftover and figured spruce it up. My hoods open .001% of the lifetime of this truck so in essence it only benefits me if im e er looking for a leak or something out the ordinary. Would it have been more orthadox as cummins tan? Yes. But i saved that $$ fir more important things in my life

what brand are the simulators ..?
Phoenix USA off of summit racing, was about $200 for the set, stainless steel
Is it stock or no I know alot about cars but not diesels
Not stock anymore, pumping out a bit more power now
Are those Carli 3” springs up front?
Coming from someone with a truck that has a Carli setup I can tell you that they are definitely not.
It's leveled up front I want to say with some cheap ready-lift springs, I undercoated over them quite awhile ago so I'm not 1000%. But I'll be ordering the Carli springs and more importantly the control arms that move the axle forward that 1"-1.5" so I can tuck the 35's I have waiting for it
@@rustybloodsaltysoul8640 go with Thuren stuff. Especially their coil springs which are linear rate and ride smoother than Carli's progressive rate. I have King 3.0's and wish the setup was softer. Now I'm going to go Thuren springs and alien arms.
@@ChaosViper67 hell yea I'll look into them. I'll be honest I drive a F550 utilitybed for work so anything feels soft compared to that buckboard. Was the Carli so stiff that it gave almost a bumbsteer effect, or was it just a comfort thing. Love the real world review so any insight going from Carli setup I'll take between the pro's & con's. This truck has a utilitybed with a crane going on it so there will be a lot of weight going on it
@Dj Abreu it's a comfort thing. The terrain has to be pretty rough to smooth out the ride so the small bump compliance isn't as good as it should be. The linear rate springs will help with that. Bumpsteer can be caused by a lot of things that would be out of wack but more so with the steering linkage, condition of ball joints, and where the caster is set.
What kind of lift do you have?
Just a leveling kit
All that $ and you didnt ppump swap wtf?
Trust me man I wish I did, and I contemplated it, especially since I'm literally in the middle of putting an Industrial Injection VP44 in as we speak, but the funds weren't there to do it right... My excavator cost me $4k in parts last month, whereas the stupid VP was like $1300 and she'll be back on the road..maybe PPumped one day but for now it's not in the cards
nice please dont ever put them stupid stacks on it
Got stacks on everything at work from the 500hp twin screw tugboat, Detroit powered link belt crane etc...you pull up to our jobsite with stacks on a small ass 1 ton pickup your lookin like a clown. So trust me, keeping her grandpa status from exterior to interior lol. The old SLT's were perfect right off the lot. The only plans left is maybe some bigger tires to fill in the void from the leveling kit. I've got the whole front end Repainted since this vid and its really cleaned up nice, I'll have to do an update one of these days.
@@rustybloodsaltysoul8640 hope to see it all dun but right now its a sweet ass truck
@@patricktaylor6299 thanks man I appreciate it big time
You really haven't done much i take it? I mean I sea *see* where you let your son go crazy with a rattle can, lights, and under body paint. I also see you did a sump, couple bolt ons, a radiator, intake... but what did you do to it? lol that's what we wanna here *hear*
Havent done much? How high were you when you wrote this? If you don't know what your looking at then yes, you will completely miss the big single S300 turbo, bigger sticks, etc etc I could write a list like you wouldn't believe. I'm not going to sit in front of the camera like every 16yr old on UA-cam with a 20 min vid talking endlessly. I let the truck speak for itself, but only ppl who know their shit can lay eyes on it and respect the work put in.....
That truck ain’t “built” lol
@@Premier1991 its not a damn sled pulling truck....its "built" for practicality....kids these days think "built" is forces with a giant single turbo with a disgusting amount of unusable bottom end lag.....
@@rustybloodsaltysoul8640 First off if you actually did all the work you claim then why the heck would you rattle can your ride. Bold claims and crap tacular results. Im not new to the cummins world and I do all my own work I can sort of pick out whats been done based on what I see but or vid sucks. Though you do have a couple decent "bolt on's" that are worth having. that's all im seeing. You stating you would sound like a teenager by actually making "decent" content is your problem. All im saying is if you spoke and got people interested talking about things like issues you had to overcome and things you learned along they way etc. you'd have allot more views and allot more interest.
But i feel you lost a great opportunity here. Its sad to see a nice motor covered in such crap of a painter wannabe hack job.
BTW I was admitted in the hospital, im not going to explain my reasoning for being tired and screwing up a message , I've seen far far worse. You have a big boy truck time to "play the part" maybe trade out them panties for some big boy underwear
@@rustybloodsaltysoul8640 im not a kid lol im 32yrs old It's fine really. Meanwhile im disabled and I can biuld a better setup. I port my heads, new valves, cut my seats after new valve guides set, set valve to piston clearances, 188/220 cams all day. Hamilton cams extreme push rods, xdp conical valve springs, titanium retainers and keepers, steed speed manifold, ported turbine housing (ported inlet, ported and made a valley leading to the wastegate and blended the turbine inducers machine work into the casting) , ported/ larger wastegate from 17mm bore to 33mm bore with a 37mm wastegate puck for plans to go compounds later, Polished piston tops, custom 67/67 turbo, 4" exhaust, custom ground intake valves to have better flow characteristics into chamber. Port the valve seat on the intake to 92% of the valves total size for max flow potential and ported the exhaust 84% of the valve size for heat transfer and maintain longevity. Then port all the way up in the ports from the direction of the valve seat and got all the way up where the ports meet surge tank area via 1/8" and 1/4" shank burrs that are 6" long (the part idiots lop off for the extra what... 2% flow?).
Towing Big Bang Injection injectors . ("Detuned version of the 750hp upgrade" which is a Big part of fuel economy increase with the tune)
48re trans is biuld for endurance and longevity, alto power packs in each gear. Billet input shaft sonax servo's ,sonax forward piston for additional clutches.
My own custom valve body. a custom tune to my liking, 1500 stall (700rpm under) triple DPC billet 12bolt converter. (Another big part that plays in better fuel economy) Billet band strap and anchor, billet "wider than stock" forward band (2-3/16" which is 1/4" wider than stock band, a 12% increase). Teflon coated pump gears, Teflon coated bushings, billet flex plate.
This is the most basic list I have I could get into how I get a max of 31.3 mpg @60mph solid billet limited slip rear dif, 3.42 gears (from 3.73 gears stock) custom tune. Ball bearing (tapered roller bearing for the front tires for ease of rolling and longer lasting than cheap aftermarket ball bearing types that "give" due to the design of the front bearing and preload which have more drag "2wd issues ")
Then the aluminum 5" driveshaft
Then the oh God I could keep going.
Really
Any ideas where a guy can find a set of those woodgrain door panels for a restoration project? My dad's got a 2000 dually I'm wanting to get as a restoration project. And it's the fully loaded laremie slt package like yours
Best advice, junkyard or ebay. Just had a huge let down with LMC parts, they started outsourcing and its all made in Taiwan crap that doesn't fit right at all. Ended up not using any of it and got O.E. parts from this guy MoparMan on ebay, he's got everything new still in the package from Mopar that even your local dealership can't get. I forget how perfect skinny tires look on a pickup. Don't see them much anymore.
Every 18 yr old kid around here has 14" wide rims on 2" tires....looks horrendous lol
@@rustybloodsaltysoul8640 when folks always say wider is better I refer them to the old camel 🐪 trophy events. Those rovers weighed as much as 3/4 ton after they loaded them up. And they conquered the worlds roughest terrain in the world on 31 inch pizza cutters.
@@mikewest712 exactly, & to add to that, the old school skinny military tires that proved themselves endlessly throughout the years.
