    THANK YOU. you just confirmed my problem. I have hot air on one side and cold on the other. I thought I had low refrigerant or something. The last thing I need to diagnose is the heated seats. I'm sure something is just unplugged. but thank you again, saved me a lot of time of trying other things.

    Why isn’t there a class action lawsuit about this?? There should be a recall on these vehicles

    Just replaced the blended door. I used a soldering iron to cut the plastic and make a clean cut. I sealed it with a small bead of black silicone once installed turned out perfect

      Silicon does work best at sealing the cut

    I just want everyone to know that there is another fix for this. You can install a simple open and close valve in the hose that runs to your heater core. Turn it closed, and you will have no water running to the heater core so you can run your AC as normal in the warmer months, turn it to open when you need heat. It's been working for us for about 5 years on a 2010 SS.
    It's as easy as cutting the hose slip in the valve and 2 hose clamps and you're done.

    It's a few plug connections under the dash ,its in the way of you removing the under dash air duct...to get access to the HVAC box..I just unplugged them,removed the plastic duct,then was able to get to the hvac box to cut out the blend door

    A newly question. I just found out my 2014 needs a blender for now. So could you access the door from the other side just as easily without going through all the hasslexwith the connectors and duct etc?

    How did u reset the actuator? Because when you put the blend door back you need to make sure that the actuator its on the right position for it not to break again, so my ?its how did u reset the actuator, or how did you did it to put it back. Making sure its on the right position?

    • @Vic-te8xf
      @Vic-te8xf 5 років тому +1

      Damian Can i believe i read on one of the main videos (the guy who did the original video) is to reset the actuator you set the temp all the way to heat. Makes sense right the blend door rests at the bottoImm and as you want AC the actuator it blocks the heater core and allows ac through. 99% certain. And to the guy that made this video thank you ive waited over a year because no one ever showed the cuts.

    • @fredflintstone8659

      Since i dont know how to post pics..ill just walk u through it.its very simple.to make things easier for me and more room,i removed the heat/cool plastic conduit from under tje dash i had to disconnect some color coded connectors and pulled the conduit wjich is secured by one sheet metal screw..remove the actuator,i think its 2 6mm bolts i think.get ur dremel and put a cutting bit in it.u want to start from the top as close to the bolt that holds the hvac box,make the cut in front of the bolt..that would be to the left of tje bolt..be very carful as ur heater core is behind the box so its important you cut as close to the bolt..you're going to cut down through the stud that holds the actuator in place(plastic stud).u dont need it,..then bring the cut down to a second screw mount thats just there,u want to cut just over it and follow the contours towards the bottom of the box,u'll see a natural contour line keep the cut about a half inch from the molded out contour of the box ..bring the cut towards the second screw,this cut should be horizontal as you begin to near the second screw,you want to start cutting up and behind tjat second screw all the way to the top and behind..(very important,once u make tje cut you will need those tabs to screw the piece u cut out back in place)if you cut the tabs out,you are screwed...as there will be nothing to anchor the section you just cut out..the piece you cut wont just fall out,you have to tug at it a bit.once out.reach inside the box pull out the broken blendoor..there's a white coupler on the actuator, take it off and insert it into the new blendor .it will hold the door in place as you put tje cut plastic section and secure it with the two 6mm bolts,u will see what i mean when u get to that part..the other thing before you install the blendoor,u have to figure the angle position of the door reletive to hot and cold position..i plugged my actuator in without bolting it to the box to observe which is hot and cold by turning the temp dial from hot to cold..i forgot which position is hot/cold when installing but u can figure it out..it has to be right position or it will break again..when u get it right..use black ATV silicone from any autoparts store..

    When to another mechanic charged me $1200 compared to the $1700 the dealership wanted. The dealership is a rip off. The parts were only $80 for the door and $200 for the the r/i of the windshield the rest was labor costs. Smh . 2012 camaro ss convertible

      Dealer quoted me $1,700 also..didnt have it for that..took matters into my own hands,worked out great .the blendoor was $23.00 and the silicone sealer was $6.00 doing it myself and saving all that money....priceless

    • @fredflintstone8659
      @fredflintstone8659  5 років тому +1

      Yes the actuator is in place with two 10mm screws..disconnect from harness..if ur blendoor isnt broke and you pull the actuator off,make sure the coupler stays in the box on the blendoor.if not,the blendoor will fall in to the box and u will have to do the whole cuting procedure to get it out..
