Surprisingly this worked. Daughter called me about her 2012 ford escape and the key would not budge. Did exactly what dude did and it worked. Car was off. Moved to Reverse, then down to lowest gear. Then real quick back to park. Key came right out. Thanks for posting this brother.

It worked. Thanks for this video. Mine was a little different thought. Didn't have a 1 or 2 on the gear shifter. And my car doesn't go in gear unless it's turned on. So I turned it on, put it in reverse, then drive, then back in park. Turn it off and boom, the key came out. Magnificent.

I know you mentioned to be on a flat surface, however on my street we park with our cars partially up on a sidewalk since it’s a narrow street. Could I still attempt this although my car is partially slanted?
