Soooo relieved to hear that Jim is still making music after reading that he wasn't interested in making Fates Warning music any longer. This is just an incredible release and I think it has a good portion of the same DNA as Fates. Yeah, I know... duh, it's Jim and Ray. My point is that this could've been a Fates song and I'm damned glad to hear it and know more is to come!
Had no idea this was in the works! Awesome to know these guys are still making music together. Sounds like this new project should satisfy any Fates fan who enjoyed the softer moments of FWX and the most recent albums.
Jim has been blessed to work with two vocalists over the course of his career whereby the sum is greater than the constituent parts. Something special happens, musically, when he works with Alder and Arch. His compositions are just richer, deeper and work perfectly with both singers voices and styles. They finish each others' musical thoughts. It's palpable and extremely rare. I personally don't get that vibe from his other projects with other vocalists (no disrespect). He's my favorite guitarist and composer. And Ray is my all time favorite vocalist. There is not a week that has gone by, quite possibly in a literal sense, that I have not listened to something written and performed by either one of these guys over the last 37 years. Cheers. Keep 'em coming....even if you never tour again (which would royally suck!).
Absolutely gorgeous song. I can't wait for the full album. Gonna go ahead and pre-order because these two are masters of their craft and I'm certain it will be another masterpiece on vinyl.
As many have already commented we are extremely lucky that these two are still making music. Rays voice is golden and the guitars of Matheos are magical. I hope and pray we get another Fates album. These guys have been with me through most of life, through the best of times, through the worst of times and for some really odd reason I feel like their music has been written into my lifes journey and their music(specifically Fates Warning) has been kinda of like the theme songs to my life. Not sure that makes sense but whatever it does to me so yeah...
The whole album is great-exactly what my ears and heart would like to hear. And this track really speaks to me (it's one of my favorites, for many coincidental reasons). Thank you, Ray and Jim!
I had no idea this project existed. So great to see Alder and Matheos back at it. I wonder if Matheos will ever bring Alder and ARCH onto the same track for some epic dual vocals.
I think this is a great new melodic band and I hope to hear more albums from them in the future. I'm glad to see Metal Blade Records finally having a not heavy band. If you are looking for something heavier you can check out the band Redemption which the singer from Fates Warning was also in.
This is not my thing, but these 2 cats are surely legends and amazing musicians, performers, and artists. Super well done and worthy of headphones. I just prefer extreme music as my daily driver, so to speak.
Fates Warning was always the most far developed prog band , they broke all the barriers and Fates's fans have been just diving into the new chapter without the usual metal borders, this N.S.E. album is keeping Fates Warning feeling alive and sounds amazing.
Long times Fates Warning fan here but I find this pretty generic. Even though Ray's lost his range over the years, his tone is absolutely incredible on the track! My issue is that I think the vocal melodies aren't catchy at all. It's just so bland here as it's been on the last few albums, especially his two solo records. Jim's writing here is also just, nothing to write home about. Remember how you felt when you heard Nothing Left to Say, Guardian or The Eleventh Hour, Still Remains and tons of FW songs? There's nothing to this that just pulls you in. It just sounds like writing music for the sake of writing, no passion or feeling. The last album felt the same way and I was hoping they'd go in a way more experimental direction. My opinion doesn't mean anything and it's just mine. I hope you guys have a great time with the album. I'll purchase it just to support Jim and Ray, as I always have.
WHAT!? WHAAAT!!!??? Aw man this has really made my day :D I was so sad about hearing an _official_ end to my fave Prog Metal band at the LA show for "Dreamsonic" (from the only "other" person wearing an FW shirt), who apparently worked as a crew member. This is GORGEOUS guys, and it gives me hope for more, possibly more FW, and I hope a 3rd Arch/Matheos album (and a Tour please!). But this was beautiful Ray & Jim. Please continue, and I wish you well Ray with "A-Z", and whatever you put out Jim, I'll be waiting :). But this was a great surprise.
Anything coming from Fates Warning members is pure art! Thank God those two legends are still making music
Totally agree
Me too ! I do agree! God bless them so!
Ray has really become a very good lyricist and has always been a great singer. Jim captures moods with his chords and melodies. Bravo Gentlemen!!

My gosh, what a pretty piece of music. Ray's voice... Wow! Perfect. Thank you Jim and Ray.
Thanks Jim & Ray for all the years of great music, been a fan since the early days back in CT.
Ray Alder could sing HTML code and it would sound amazing! This is top notch music!
😂😂😂
Pure beauty as expected. So wisely released in winter.
Excellent profile picture and album.

I love Ray's voice. So happy these two legends are still going strong and create new music together.
2 LEGENDS of American Metal scene, thanks for another masterpiece in form of music ! Greetings from Brazil !
Atmospheric and magic. Ray Alder and Jim Matheos - Great wizards.
Such a lovely surprise to see these two releasing new music. I read between the lines and thought it was over but this makes me happy.
Ray is getting better with age like a fine wine. Jim is a master and with Ray, it doesn't get much better when they work together.
Beautiful song and imagery for the lyric video. Ray’s voice is like butter and Jim’s playing was exquisite. Want to hear more from this project!
What a surprise! Was not expecting anything from Fates anytime soon. This isn’t FW, but hey - it’s Jim and Ray! Looking forward to hearing much more.
Perché questi due ogni volta mi fanno venire i brividi? Grandi Jim & Ray... anzi immensi. ❤
Wow...how beautiful is this masterpiece? I can't able to stop to listening to.
The power of music..here at the top 🔝
Two Legends...one Work❤
In love with this within the first 8 bars.
If I didn’t know any better I’d swear Kevin Moore had his hands in this just a bit. Like I’ve always said…Jim Matheos = Musical Genius.
sounds very OSI meets Chroma Key w/ Ray singing yup stellar first offering, but I never doubt Jim and Ray together …
Has a Road Goes on Forever vibe which is one of my favorite FW Pieces. Buyer.
With those two involved you know damn well it will be really good. Ray Alder is basically the prog rock/metal version of Jeff Scott Soto.
A natural progression to where Fates seemed to be going….
Great sound 👌
John Locke: "We're gonna need to watch that again"
BRILLIANT!!!!
Absolutely Amazing! I had no doubt in my mind this would be anything short of PHENOMENAL!!!
#JimMatheos, #RayAlder
#Mastepiece❤
I can't wait to hear the rest of it.
Perfect music ... Alder and Matheos !!!
Great artist Indeed , great music, can't wait the album❤
Just beautiful…

I love the direction Jim and Ray have gone with this musical project. Very different and in a good way.
Next best thing to another fateswarning album.
The whole album is great-exactly what my ears and heart would like to hear. And this track really speaks to me (it's one of my favorites, for many coincidental reasons). Thank you, Ray and Jim!
Such a fantastic landscape of music. Looking forward to hearing the entire album.
What a gorgeous piece of music! I shouldn't be surprised, since members of Fate's Warning are involved with it. Can't wait for the album next week! 👍
As good as you'd expect from such absolute legends as these.
I had no idea this project existed. So great to see Alder and Matheos back at it. I wonder if Matheos will ever bring Alder and ARCH onto the same track for some epic dual vocals.
What else can Ray do. Another Masterpiece. His solo also ll and now this. Amazing album and thank you Jim & Ray.
Pure joy... Thank you for this masterpiece!
Can't wait for a tour .
Those guys about to make me feel some feelings once again
It's official... Jim Matheos and Ray Alder are going to release under the name North Sea Echoes, another masterpiece.
I think this is a great new melodic band and I hope to hear more albums from them in the future. I'm glad to see Metal Blade Records finally having a not heavy band. If you are looking for something heavier you can check out the band Redemption which the singer from Fates Warning was also in.
Warning Echoes. Fates Sea. Sea Warning. North Warning.
That is beautiful. Thank you Ray and Jim. Greetings from the lake POQ area.
Amazing these guys are BRILLIANT...
To be a rider with the cost and to smile when it hurts is a walk not for all of us.
Great song! Different than Fates Warning but interesting. I will listen to the entire album when it is released. Pre-ordered the CD.
This is a Masterpiece.
Pure talent!!!!
Cant wait to hear more!!
Hell yes let there be a tour also
Great song no complaints, great lyrics, was just hoping at the 3:40 mark some power would kick in.
Brilliant!
SONG OF THE MONTH for me
i WILL ALL WAYS & 4EVER LUV THIS STYLE OF MUSIC THANKS YOU :)
Love it!!! Ray is like fine wine🍷.
I trust Jim and Ray with my life
Bigtime Fates fan! Will be getting this in Feb.
Love it!

Beautiful as always!
Ray's voice is amazing.
Alder and Matheos= calm
This is gorgeous. Can't wait for the rest.
I like that melody.
Very cool!
Велико! Толкова въздействащо....
NORTH SEA ECHOES is the successor of Fates Warning?
Just another side project to add to the list...😊
@@fates019 "Long Day Good Night" is the final album for Fates Warning. I am not sure this is just a side project.
All of the guys have so many things going on musically...I don't think you can tie any of them to 1 name or project anymore...
@@fates019 you raise a good point mate.
I think so.
This is so deep .
I had thought that since LDGN that it was all over... I'm glad that I was wrong
Masterpiece!
I get OSI indian curse vibes from this...
Beautiful song...
Love it🎶
Love it ❤❤❤
Very nice ballad, but hope there are also some songs with distortion on the album 🤔
Pozdrawiam . Goleniów widz.🤘👍✊.
The alchemy is still there

I love Fates Warning but this isn’t heavy enough for me.

Is a song of NIN....
