    So I've been doing some metrics. So here's what's happening in the comments.
    1. Japan partner sends another email telling me to take down the video. Calls me a few times in the middle of the night telling me to take down the video. I don't comply. And merely 24-48 hours later I get bombarded by negative comments. You can buy these from seller for practically nothing cause they used hacked or created recently UA-cam accounts. I would say about 90% of the negative comments they don't respond to are bots. They get paid to make 1 comment not get into an argument. And it's pretty easy to spot them when you look at their profiles.
    2. This is cyclical. About monthly. I get email and calls. And then a boom in comments almost all of them negative. And from nothing accounts.
    3. Jokes on you. To post a negative comment they still gotta open and view the video to post. So I still get views. And still get paid. So keep em coming. I literally have to do nothing.
    4. I straight up made this channel to help normal people that don't have money flowing out their ears with some expectations of what could go wrong with buying your own rare jdm car especially gtrs. I have done breakdowns of the items I have bought and the price of each item. And let me tell you some didn't make the cut. Some exceeded expectations. I'm a normal guy that gasp isn't a mechanic (but at this stage of the build I probably know far more than the non owners experts in here about this engine and chassis simply because I put in the work to learn it) that loves cars and was in a position to be able to get my hands on my dream car(sort of)since I was a kid. And I hope that my videos help someone else that starts to go down this road themselves.
    5. Finally I have plenty of other videos of this build and the progress. My channel has grown and so has my knowledge of this engine and chassis. Im actually giving back to my community now with giveaways. And I couldnt get to this point without everyone's support. Even the negative comments. Cause that just makes me push harder so I can rub this shit in your face stay mad homie. I didn't come this far to give up. And when I'm done you what will you have?
    I'm out. See the real car guys in my newest episodes. And thanks JP for the free money.

    I live in a country where imports are common, I've owned nearly all the cool Nissan's and still own an R33 GTR. In saying that I want to say that I understand your frustration, but also that you didn't do that bad. The cars are really thin on the ground now and that car is a pretty decent base. In regards to the damage to piston 6 it is extremely common for the RB26 to blow number 6 on a lean out condition (and do so very quickly), so you might find that the car left Japan running fine and had some cheeky dock worker try to have a little fun - destroying your motor, likely on US soil. As for Japan Partner, hahahha.. I too have had experience dealing with them, and what ill say will explain a bit about the rest of your cars condition. If you read their T's and C's very carefully you'll find that they can sell you a car but then provide you with its nearest equivalent AND even build you one to that spec. With a lot of imagination and Russian voodoo, you then get people buying theoretical cars and waiting 6 months for it to be sent while they actually source and build the thing (COUGH YOUR HEADLIGHTS COUGH). Japan Partner will typically find the cheapest example that matches what you want and piece it together to resemble the car you've seen in photos. Admittedly the car I handled from them had a lot of brand new OEM parts.... so... they try. Kinda. The other thing to note is how easy it is to manipulate this situation. The cars were common in the tiny island of Japan, and not expensive just a few years back, with hideous taxes on cars over certain ages and mileages. So many cars got left to rot and cannibalised for parts. Watching your video I'd say that's not the original motor to the car and was probably actually sourced by Japan Partner in the lead up to the sale to you. The weld on the sump implies it was in a crash and cracked, but your car has never been crashed in the front. If I had to guess, I'd say not too long before you agreed to buy that car it probably was sitting on a pallet rack with no motor in it. Anyhow, I could tell you a lot about that car just looking at the video but I guess a lot of people on the internet say lots of things so I won't go on too much. Congratulations on owning your dream car, be positive as it isn't so bad. In Australia we believe all RB26s came blown from the factory. One does not simply buy a GTR and drive it without fixing EVERYTHING first. You will be rewarded for your efforts, trust a fellow owner. Good luck!

    • @slightlyinsaneraf
      @slightlyinsaneraf 3 роки тому +44

      You're certainly not wrong. It's a tough reality that people don't wanna accept. RBs are not as reliable at they were made to be by fans few years ago. Skylines are not the most reliable cars overall. Rust is everywhere on them as well, and rust often attacks places you wouldn't even expect, like front inner arched, and it rusts from inside out, so if u not checking your car regularly, you will find out when it's "too late".
      When it comes to that company, fucking hell. Sounds like a right scam. Good to know, I will be staying away if I wanna import something one day.
      He did get a bad base to build on, however, with amount of problems... It should of been very cheap example.

    I've owned an R32 and R33 GTR. Welcome to Nissan Skylines! If you have a straight chassis and matching numbers your on a win. Finding the original engine on a GTR is rare... They are constantly blowing. The cracks on the sump are weird, but as someone said. It could've happened from the new engine. For a Cast Aluminum sump, the welds are fine. They needed to achieve the required penetration, and there doesn't appear to be leaks. You can grind them down for a nicer finish if you want. Your car isn't that bad, it's just another Japan spec rust GTR. As for the seller and price, this happens a lot. Speak to Australia or New Zealand importers to find the best sellers. You have a sick car! Enjoy it and I'm sorry that you have to go through this...

    Aw man this is heart breaking.
    I bought my mnp 33 vspec last year through a uk company who prep their cars before personally handing them over to the customer.
    They stand over any checks they do prior to bidding at auction.
    My 33 was blowing blue smoke when it went for mot in the uk and they did a full engine rebuild with forged bottom end, at no cost to me. I have then spent about half the actual car cost again modifying it.
    It’s a 25 year old car so many parts will need replaced and upgraded.
    When you decided on the car, A $36 dollar vin check would have given you previous auction history and checks for mileage and any recorded damage, but that’s no use now.
    I hope they did a radiation check on the vehicle.
    Hope you get it sorted.

Months passed and another friend searched the cars serial number and found a auction listing with the car stripped interior and roll caged. Turns out it was not only a road car but it was track used why later on he had issues with the car.

    Ok fella, I watched your whole video, and I really want to give you some feedback on your process. So this will be a long message. I am a fellow R33 GTR owner. (I will use * to separate paragraphs, sorry bout this)*********************First things first, and I say this in the most constructive way possible; if you are NOT mechanically inclined, and/or have owned/worked on/studied any early to mid 90s Nissans, DO NOT BUY A SKYLINE GTR. Just don't. **********************The reason I say that is a ton of your gripes/issues with your car (all perfectly justified by the way) are WELL KNOWN issues with R33s. There are a ton of forums you can reference for info (SAU, GTR UK, etc... don't use facebook, full of idiots), tons of R33 platform review videos, buyers guides etc... I will say this as a caveat- the engine issue is inexcusable. You bought a running car any shop coulda sorted the turbos and done a comp check in Japan. They should have sorted that for you, so thats something they did and you should get a used motor from them. An R33 RB26 with good comp, long block would be in the 5-6k USD range, so just buy that, get your cherry picker out and install and just run. Easiest solution. ********************All the broken parts in your video, the weird wires you found (clearly an aftermarket HID ballast), the dash facia crack, the paint on drivers side switch panel, these are VERY VERY VERY VERY well known issues with these cars. These cars were owned by tuners and enthusiasts around the world, and many of them are just as bad as ricers in the US, so expect stupid issues! Things like that TBH I would very much expect to be on a car like this, regardless of what you paid. This goes for the rusty pipes, stupid welds on the oil pan, cracked headlight, trunk key issue, etc...************************ TBH, the lawyer bullshit is an empty threat, I think its best if you do what I suggest and just say have them send you a used long block, and enough money to pay a shop to install it. ************ Another thing, it doesnt take 3 days to remove an RB26. You shoulda looked around, and saw videos on youtube for removing from above, OR just dropped the Eng GBX and front suspension below with the car on a lift. It is really simple, 2-3 hr max job. Live and learn. *************** I would REALLY take off your side skirts and examine the sills, frame rails, trunk floor, and rear wheel wells for rust, something tells me if the engine is wrecked, the chassis is fucking close to it. These cars are notorious for rust. I currently have mine on a rotisserie being restored. Not for. the faint of heart.***** hope this is a learning experience, but assuming you paid $40k or so for this car (yes it was overpriced), I would say for that price, the only thing I would not expect was the engine issue. Also, the shop is tryna rip you off with that 20-25k quote lol. Bastards. They know you don't have a clue whats going on. Go find some of the GTR crew in texas and ask for help, assuming the rust issues are not bad, this is a nice chassis to build off of. Live and learn. Also, those are not welds, thats called seam sealer. @gabednconfused - find me if you got more questions.

    • @DBuilds
      @DBuilds  4 роки тому +4

      The car was flooded and has been wrecked. I appreciate your comment. But how do people learn things without ever working on them? Building this up from the ground up which I'm going to have to do will be the greatest learning experience I'll ever have with a car like this. It took 3 days because many bolts were rusted and almost fused together. Everytime we would get a little closer to getting it out it was always another issue. So we soaked the bolts over night and came back to it the next day.
      You haven't seen the engine as it was. It was completely covered in rust. And you could tell that it had been underwater and sat with no after care causing things to seize up. I dropped a second vid. It has the jp Carfax. This car is basically a salvage car. It's practically worthless. Odometer tampering, front collision, flood damage. All hidden somehow. But clearly shown on several auction sheets.

      @@DBuilds the oil in the charge pipes is not from blown turbos, it's from the melted/hammered cylinder 6 piston that allows a ton of breathing to the engine that then brings the oil to the suction side of the turbos and goes to the charge pipes

      @@DBuilds I will check out the next video. To answer your question- how do you learn? Start with an S or Z chassis, in the US. Part interchangeability is very good, all have the same problems, same deterioration points, and go together and come apart in almost identical ways. The truth is, the R33/34 gtr chassis are the most complicated nissans ever made. I guess just get stuck in, but its not the easiest one for sure. I will update on the next video. Here to help dude.

    Also, treat your car with anti rust chemicals as soon as possible, seems to me it was under water due to all the parts you showed being rusty. Salt water will continue to eat away at the metal. Wash the hell out of it and treat it, specially strut towers, rocker panel, rear quarters, trunk areas. Get it done professionally ASAP.

    good to see this, a lesson to learn i too always wanted a r33gtr and am going to import one but to anyone who wants to make sure you do your research extensively about an overseas company and know a little more about cars than the average person as enthusiast you should before buying. Also very important if your going to purchase one overseas i suggest book at least 1 or 2 weeks to stay there to check the car out once twice or even three times if you can before you get all paperwork done.

    Feel sorry for you man, i ended up getting my R33 through the guys at Pacific Coast Auto and had nothing but a good experience. i was looking at Japan Partner originally and had a bad feeling about them, hope your video prevents anyone else from having the same experience and you get some $ back from them.

      I was in the exact same boat. I was a few days away from wiring money to JP. Had some gut feeling they were going to be difficult. Did so much research on them I decided to say screw them. I contacted PCA, and have my car expected to arrive in Feb. So far, I got nothing but good things to say about PCA. I just hope in the end I don't end up with a lemon. Its a risk unless you got endless money to import these things for sure. Glad to hear you had a good experience with them. Fingers crossed.
