"STOCK" EXHAUST MODS, MY 80cc MOTORIZED SLEEPER BICYCLE.

- In this video I tear apart my 80cc motorized bike's stock exhaust. I need this exhaust to flow much more to let all the spent gases escape. The new port timings in this motor have made it much more roudy then stock. It's now getting choked out by how much air and fuel it burns. This little motor really pulls hard and needs a way to breath better. Let's see if I can chop up a stock exhaust and make it breath and flow easier, but also and maybe more importantly; make real power. With keeping it looking, stock. Lets Get To It.

THANKS FOR WATCHING EVERYONE !!!!! - Розваги
Great to see a video for us guys that don't want to spend a ton to have a decent running bike. After 30 years of building RC trucks I wanted to do something else for a hobby and was really surprised on how cheap I got into this hobby.
Brother if your interested in not spending a lot then I'm definitely the channel for you. 90% of all my builds are using completely stock parts modified and built better for more power and reliability.
@@JMB676 hey bud. I ordered a hyper bike beach cruiser and want a hub adapter because I don't like the rag joints, it's a 26" bike. Do you know what size I need to order? Bike hasn't got here yet, I was thinking the 1.5 but don't want to order the wrong one.
I mean.... Jb weld is cheaper than that torch. Tin can and JB weld is an expansion chamber
Awesome video good to hear from you tell Heather I said hello and I'm glad all is well
Thanks for the vid!
Great video. Keep ‘em coming !!
Ty glad you liked it.
my ole lady would be cursing me that "F" out bro we have to trade lol..Thanks for the video boss keep them coming
Great video bro!
As always I enjoyed
That is true louder Exhaust safe live good job in that Exhaust performance 💪
Thanks, I got a lot of flack from people about what Im doing to it, but idk. I'm going for a certain look you know. Plus I just really love trouble shooting and making the cheap crap that comes with the bikes even better.
Good video brother I'm in the process of making an expansion chamber for the Twisted tea bike the flange alone was 3 hours to make stay strong stay safe
When are you posting the details about the group ride?
@@JMB676 After my wife has her kidney removed the first of April after that when she recovers good we will be planning it.
Jb weld the imperfections on the weld.. that's what I did.. still holding up strong and I just run my pipe with 0 baffles and no cap and I'm telling you bro I got like twice as much torque.. it's been running strong like that for a long time now I don't thing back pressure is such an issue because the Magneto keeps it going if that make sense.. love your videos though man be safe!
Great video.Sleeper motor bike .
That was my total idea that I wanted to make.
Awesome + Business = Awesomeness
Like all the vids.
I just got done rideN my motobike
I didn't ride today, I finished editing and stayed inside. It's way to windy to ride today.
I put 2 lil holes N my cap then cut that lil tube off as well. It performs better than stock.
this dude reminds me of chael sonnen for some reason...his voice for sure is number 1 reason
Nice vid . Always great stuff.
Be safe be Bad Azz 😃👍✌️
Thanks appreciate the nice words
Have a question when u drilled holes in the baffle what would happen if I put like 6 2" slits going 3 around the top and 3 of set from the top ones at the botom
The 1.5 inch adapter may be slightly loose but mine is fine I had to file off 3-16ths on both mating surfaces.. never slipped installed 6-2019 peace
I've been sub'd for way over a year and you have really come a long way with GREAT content that just keeps getting better and better.
God's speed my brother.
Lots and lots speed 😃
BE SAFE BE BADAZZ
Hell yes, thanks brother. I really appreciate the support.
Man your neighbors must be cool as hell
Its idling high because the cable that works the throttle has to be shortened to the EXACT right length..Just like mine was now it idles beautifully
Well I disagree, but I'm glad you got yours right.
The baffling is the wholes in the tube that interrupts the exhaust echo as far as I know. Thats why it was quieter before. In the pyramid shape the purpose of the expansion chamber of it causes a double report when the pressure pushes back through the widened space. Your are essentially making an low budget tube by removing the cap. That’s why street bike have a similar type muffler. They have fiberglass packing along side of the baffles encasin the end . There is a cover over the flange or cone shape in the straight pipes .The mz65 and other pipes are a different style but really the same. I would just remove the guts all together If possible and maybe add some steel wool for a baffle.Godspeed and nice post.⚙️🚲⚙️
Yeah bro I just chopped half the exhaust off and it fixed the power issue
Joined ya bookfacs. I found a old thrashed out Huffy with a 50cc? kit fitted in the back of a panelbeater shop and scored it for free. Just getting it all up and going again, learning and breaking things. I'm interested in something more powerfull shortly
How easy was it to bend? I need to bend mine to fit my bicycle and I am wondering if I should heat it up first or how to go about it without braking it
It was easy I just put it in a gutter grate to bend it. Basically anything that won’t move when you pull or push on it will work
Hey Johnnie shop talk ..I'm running a toggle switch for a Killswitch....should i have the toggle break up the positive wire to CDI...or wire like a Killswitch so the on position kills the bike and runs in the off position
It really doesn't matter which side you hook it to. It's just a ground at it's bases. So I would do which ever way you like how it looks or which way feels more comfortable when you're riding it and got to flip it.
I work in my kitchen lol I use high heat silicone and doing what you did should seal it leak proof I live on a shoestring budget to lol keep them videos coming and stay safe
You got brother, cheap life forever. Nahh hopefully someday we will both have a shoe and shoestring budget. Lol
Just have been wondering how it turn out I know that you showed it running right after but it would be awesome to know how is the long time after effort is .
It worked great and showed it in other videos after, but which vids I don’t remember to be honest. Either way I don’t use that motor anymore and took it off to build the Mule into a bike for a custom but still have the motor and pipe. I actually use that pipe a lot on all me new builds for testing cause it’s quite ish and flows really well so I don’t have to worry about exhaust congestion after I port a motor. Most ported motors don’t perform well with stock exhaust on them because they are to tight flow wise for how much air they flow after I get done with them. So this pipe was an awesome project and to be honest I had no idea I would use it so much. I kinda just thought it be a cool project for the build n video but use it all the time now.
JB weld it together
Can my stock muffler not letting my motor idle?I cleaned my carb and it will run down the road but as soon as I stop to idle
Are you sure the clutch isn’t dragging just a bit? I mean there’s a lot of reasons y It could happpen but if you don’t figure it out feel free to message me on messenger, there’s a link in the description for our group and from there you can find me to friend n talk to.
22:30 the iddle is so high You need down that RPM iddle please and the Exhaust idea is good congrast because with not money You put You bike run good 🙏💪✌️🇵🇷
Yea the idle was very high because of it being to lean. I fatten it up and it idled down and runs much better.
What I should have tried before ordering a $69 ($75 w/tax) expansion chamber & $25 silencer/muffler is- Hollow out/gut the stock exhaust, weld the caps back on, drill a 3/4in-ish exhaust hole in the end cap, thread a fitting into it, thread or clamp on a foot or so of some metal 3/4 in gas flex pipe I had laying around & put a silencer muffler on the end of it. I was gonna try it but would still have to find/buy $$ a few brass fittings, dig welder & generator out to set it up outside on a nice day(no garage) it'd take quite a bit of work to accomplish very little. If It worked way better than stock & almost as good as a $69 expansion chamber. It'd be worth it, if it didn't, I'd have wasted all that time & $$ on fittings only to turn around & buy an expansion chamber. I seen a $40 MZ65 clone expansion chamber on Ebay (small ID single size header) it'll add power. But went with larger header $69 BBR pipe in hopes the expansion chamber would work better down the road on a 50 to 56 mm build. The $25 muffler silencer was pretty heavy, one could have been made much lighter that'd be strong enough. I miss having a 3 car garage, lots of tools & energy.
This works really well. If I had all the tools like a welder I would have done it that way but I don't so this is best I could do.
@@JMB676 Yeah, sucks being broke like I am.
#1)put lawn mower mufler on,#2 find a carburator valbe ,open it when u need more power, #3 flaten a biger pipe ,saves apace cools fast.,...my next proyect is f-15 tipe muffler ..workimg on it, right now looks like a camara diafragm so I can control the hot air going out.
I have a gx50 4 stroke is there a difference other than that bracket and opening I had a exhaust for my old motor I built but was to top heavy and destroy the eng the closest thing I can find is scooter x you're is this a good ideal with some modification of the bracket or would you move on I get 26mph now on a 20/44 sprocket would u go down one more to 38 20 for top in on the sprocket or is there anything else besides a better transmission I have used this throw march before changeing the engine I was at 20mph is cyl DIA 39mm x 26 equal 49cc or have I been had because Google says 31cc and had been my gx35 parts due to no response from owner. door about the spelling I have a TBI thanks
just drill a few holes or take the cap off i think it would look good baffled .
Jb weld the thing back together
Look up "exhaust lolipops", its an easy way to control exhaust flow at will. Its an old school motorcycle mod and can be done with basic hand tools.
How did your muffler turn out are you still having issues with it
I use it all the time on new builds for the test rides. It flows great but isn’t loud like a mz clone or something.
I like your time sucker for cheap power!! I'm going to give this same thing a shot. For now, being that the flange weld is good, opening up the pipe at the flange has been my 1st priority. It on auto, should increase the exhaust flow. Later I'll cut that weld, drill them holes and recap it with an extra hole as well. Just thought I would add the flange grinding bro
Can I just leave the cap off if it runs like a bat out of hell? Or will that shorten the lifespan of the bike? Sorry, I’m new to all of this lol
No your good if you like it. Usually having the cap off just lowers the top speed a couple mph but get up to speed a lil faster so your good. If you get an exhaust leak, now that can shorten the life of the bike tho for sure.
Yea man it should have made a difference but all I did was at the end cut that hole to a inch and put a one inch pipe in it and made I hell a difference I didn't think abt drilling them hole in the inside like u did here that's a sweet idea I should do that too I probably would gain a lot more on that 100$ engine I got. I am gna use that engine for a test engine
If it's fully stock idk how much your gain but as long as you run the cap you should be ok for back pressure.
@@JMB676 it seems like I lost top end speed but gained low end when I took that cap off but not sure haven't road that build in like 4 months
@@JMB676 but hey bravo bro them phantoms are pretty sweet .if everything lines up rite I'm gna put stock reed and carb on the anbull some time in future and see how good it runs with that set up because that anbull 50 mm piston engine kicks ass too
@@JMB676 shit I have to get a window piston if they make em for 50 mm pistons
@@joneserupinsmoke9161 yes they are easy to find on eBay or Amazon but honestly they are very easy to make yourself. Just don't make the window to big, that's a very common issue. People make them to big cause most people just think bigger is better.
I just had three motors in a row seized where the crankshaft and rod connect. What do you think is the cause of it?
All new or old? What oil ratio? And what kind of motors?
@@JMB676 one had about 500 miles on it, the other two new...
I thought maybe it was because I put in high-performance 2 stroke oil. Then it happened to a third brand new motor, and I didn't use any of that oil in it. I opened two of them up, one looks like it has broken bits of metal lodged in between the piston and the cylinder so I haven't been able to open that one up yet. There were heavy carbon deposits on both of the ones that opened.
@@saved_yet_so_as_by_fire carbon doesn’t hurt them, that’s usually a rich condition and won’t really hurt the motor if anything it causes it to have extra lubrication and just run lower power and idle low. But what type of motors are you talking about about, 80, 100, 50? If hundreds what type of hundred yd100 or iron sleeve?
@@JMB676 the first two were 100 not sure if it was yd or iron sleeve, and the third one was the 80.

Will it blow the engine with no muffler?
Yes
what kind of issue did the 50cc have i know my moped ran better with a richer gas/oil mixture
This old video I don’t remember what’s what to be honest.
@@JMB676 I see
@@larryshaver3568 I had a couple of them and with out watching it again I wouldn’t know which problem I’m talking about. Most the time it ended up being chrome lining of the cylinder walls flaking off and loss of compression. I just didn’t know that was the issue way back when cause I didn’t know enough. But most the time that was the fifty issues that were catastrophic.
The pause with and there's bonuses to she is suffocating
Honestly I won't spring for an expansion chamber because I don't want the extra attention from Mr. Policeman. 😏
The reason why I pulled the trigger on the poo poo pipe.
Weird thing about my poo poo pipe, it seems like it wants to kick in around 35🤔 idk but with my iron sleeve build I'm wanting a little more take off power. Was thinking about changing my 40t rear sprocket to a 44t. Idk.
Nice to see you have some time to mess with the bikes. ☺️
Yea I'm not sure what you weigh but I really like the 44t for everyday riding. I would like to try a bigger one like a 50-52t. Just to get the big off the line pull.
@@JMB676 probably about 185. I can't wait to this crappy weather gets done with so I can play with the bike! I bent my exhaust flange awhile back and noticed oil coming out. Since then I put some big washers on and that seems to have helped because I seem to have gained a little more power. I know my bike is louder, don't know if that's a byproduct of a better seal, but soon as mother nature permits I'm gonna try to hammer out the flange and see if I can't get it lined up.
@@KB_Joys after you hammer it out make sure you file the flange completely flat so it seals really well.
I'm doing the exact opposite- changing from 44T down to 40T & adding a $69 BBR expansion pipe & $25 slip on muffler. Wish the muffler wasn't so heavy. I ordered the fake chrome pipe instead of black, I figured if I don't like the chrome, I'd get some gray, white or black pipe wrap for it. The pipe wrap might also help to keep noise down & heat off your leg if it's an issue.
@@michaelbrinks8089 honestly I'd probably just keep it where it's at with the 40t because it does seem to suit my engine rpm but I'm going to be needing to be able to climb some pretty steep hills. Where it's at with the 40t is probably right on for top speed with my set-up.
Hey guys... So i bought a used 80cc. New gas line, new HP carb, new head gasket. Wont start. I take off the muffler just to see if it made a difference, starts up first try. So i check the muffler, seems empty and clean. ( muffler came with the engine).. So my question is, could a muffler stop the engine from starting!? If so is it carbon build up?
Has spark and a new plug, 32/1 mix gas.... Cant figure it out...anyone!? Seems common sense that its the muffler right? But whats confusing is... it ran with that muffler BEFORE i put the new carb, gas line and new plug...
Any idea from anyone would be great! Pls and thank you 😢

There are many oil to gas ratios that I have read but in working on chain saws, weed whackers and blowers They started out real rich with oil then as they evolved they got down to 40 to 1 for a long time untill the 80's when synthetics came out and then the manufactures went to 50 to 1 and on the label it states any 2 stroke engine that has been runnin on 40 to 1 mixture can run on the new 50 to 1 oil. I have been doing that using a manufacturer that I trust and any manufacturer labled 2 stroke oil and have never had a problem but I do not read that anyone with these 80cc s strokes use 50 to 1 is there really any reason for that?
We’ll actually most the racers use 50:1 in the motors but that’s to get snappier responses out the motor basically but I personally run 40:1 cause I run synthetic and it’s more then good and plenty of lube in my daily. From my understanding tho the manufacturer recommends 16:1 for breaking (conventional oil) to flush away any particulates from the breakin period such as metal from rings n piston and what have you. And then after break-in they say 32:1 (conventional oil) cause that’s really the same as me run 40:1 (synthetic oil) . As I’m sure you know synthetic is much netter the conventional and has a better viscosity then conventional oil so you need less to do the same. Now I always recommend doing what the manufacturer says so this way if it breaks you can’t blame me but like I said I run 40:1 synthetic, I find it to be thin enough to not clog up the exhaust and smoke a lot on my daily plus it’s just thin enough to not cause it to seen rich when cruising. Now don’t believe I know a lot about this or am in anyway the end all advice but I’m just letting you know what I have learned over my time of playing with these things. Thanks for posting and talking.
@@JMB676 Have ou tried running 50/1 synthetic in any of your bikes? or are you just being cautious? I ran 50/1 synthetic in the 1977 Puch moped restored and it ran great, no smoke, did not drip oil out of the exhaust and no smell, it was great. I am looking for a reason to run a heavier oil ratio if it makes sence. So far it just seems that everyone is afraid because the Chinese have not recomended it. I do not think they have as good oil as the manufacturers do here or in Europe.
@@JMB676 I feel your response sort of answered my question. 1st in racers are using 50/1 that means it is safe no matter how harsh you treat it. 2cnd there is no reason to use 16/1 unless you like oil dripping out of your exhaust. if you are worried about metal particals floating around in the engine personally I don't know how the mixture ratio would make a differance, maybe the engine should be opened up and cleaned out and everything checked out before starting it. Over lubing the engine would mean a longer brake period. a Quicker brake in would be a non synthetic 40/1 then switch to a synthetic 50/1 one you trust or one that has a manufacture name behind it. 50/1 keeps your motor from smoking and no smoe comming out of the exaust. Better for the envirorment. I know that quality is not good in these Chinese engines but the only thing the mixtures effects is the contact of the piston to cylinder wall. If scrring has been a problem maybe carb adjustment or bigger jets are needed, if the engine is running too hot something along those lines could be the cause. Just something to think about.
Begging but i get it 😅
Begging? I don’t think you know what you’re talking about, that’s not at all what was going on way back when this video was new.
man johnnie that engine sounds like it wants you to turn the idle down lol .
Hey Rob how are you? Hope all is well with you and family, I'm guessing your grandson is over for the day. Anyway I did turn the idle down a bit and it obviously helped but the main reason the idle was so high is just cause of how lean it is. I didn't know it was this lean before cause the stock exhaust keep so much of the spent and non spent gases in the pipe that I couldn't tell it was lean, cause it kinda wasn't lean because it could just recycle the unspent gas. Now that it flows freely from my new mods to the stock exhaust, all those unspent gases are now leaving the motor completely. Which shows me how lean it is. With all the port work and this new exhaust "fix" lol, this thing really moves now but also burns a little more fuel. Stock jet in the carb is around a 70, and it takes 78 now. That's quite a bit bigger so this thing really boogies with just a bit of elbow grease. I'm kinda hoping I can make it to that group ride Kevin is having, and was thinking about maybe bringing the "Mule" to show it off a little. But that's still up in the air. Anyway glad you stopped by to watch. I don't think I'm going to have a visit tomorrow with the kids cause the kids are sick (runny noses not really sick but it's the rules) but anyway I'm hoping I can play with the computer, I ordered a new battery for it so I don't have to keep it plugged in all the time.
