I'm 60 and in the winter arthritis kills me on cold nights. So in the morning I sit in the sun on the front porch, listening to this and other recordings by them, having a cup of coffee, or a very hot tea to help warm me up inside. Those mornings became unforgettable for me.
Nice ! and happy new year 2024 !
I get it. I'm 66 and after 35+ yrs in concrete and masonry this sound does help the days warm up easier.
I agree w ya
One Fiddle. One Guitar. Two Voices.
I needed this...
Her voice is like a warm blanket from your childhood...
...and his is like it is coming out of a firehose! That they can harmonize the way they do is testament to their skills
The Boots of Spanish Leather cover is probably one of my favorite songs. I adore Dylan but, man, this got me all in my feels. I miss my love.
agree❤
Emily is just pure gold.
Their music just gives me the peace of a campfire, the joy of chocolate, the lingering delight of my first kiss and the insight of age all at once.
You hit the nail on the head Terry.
Wow. Exactly
Word. 🙌🏻
Bore off.
I'm sorry this is a little dramatic.
They both bring such heart and nerve to the songs individually, but the real magic happens in the plucking of the string and when they harmonize together.
I love how the dude's voice is powerful without effort
put my thoughts into words
Yeah. Agreed
This duo just came on to my radar a few weeks ago… I’m mesmerized and enchanted by their music.. best new music to my ears in years.. great lyrics.. wonderful sound.. . Just fabulous .. in a music world of noise.. some music one can one can quietly let overtake you… it’s like a fine glass of Smokey scotch sipped on a late fall day..
Glad you enjoy them! They renamed/rebranded their duo to Watchhouse if you want to listen to their new stuff. I fell in love with them five years ago and still prefer their Mandolin Orange work.
So, you are kind of a decade late, and it's not bad. You wil be glad to listen a bunch of good music you never heard. Enjoy.
0:20 Calvary
6:00 House of stone
11:22 There was a time
15:37 Train Song
20:33 Boots of Spanish Leather
Thanks Robert ♡♡♡♡
Yea thnx bro!
Thanks brother! The interviewer is... not great.
@@jessepoole106 Well said My Friend !!✌💓😇🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Your the man
Old souls …….coming back ……born onto a plateau where the sounds of compassion and harmony are the common tongue……
Boots of Spanish Leather is easily the best cover of Dylan’s song I’ve ever heard. Listened to it 7x in a row when I first discovered it. Each time hearing nuances that I missed the previous time! Wonderful concert
YES IT IS!!!
yes yes yes!!
Give Craig Cardiff's version a listen!. Great as well
I agree! Their voices are ethereal
There cover is the reason why I am a fan. I was looking specifically for Dylan covers and this was the one that popped up, just beautiful. Have been listening to them for years and even now, they've changed their name to Watchhouse, I will continue.
This duo is helping me through some hard times right now
They did it for me throghout that crazy lockdown where my arthritis got worse and the doctors were nowhere to be found. I sat under the sun in the cold mornings listening all these great music. And those moments got kept in my memory as very special moments.
Yep, their music did so much for me during the time when my mother was very sick and eventually lost her battle last summer.
@warrior8057 I lost my grandmother back in late September and was the only one present when she had taken her final breath. She was 106 years young, she had traveled the world, seen everything from ww1 until then. She was literally a living history book and one of the best mentors I'd ever had my whole life! I miss her dearly and I wish she was here long enough to see me marry my wife in December and to meet her future grand children yet to come.
@@williamwillis1506 thank you for sharing !!!!
I love how they look at each other with this big grin like holy shit this sounds great. EVERY DAMN TIME WE DO IT! Lol so good. Definitely one of my favorite bands.
I discovered Mandolin Orange right here in Audio Tree LiVE.
I love their music - much appreciation.

(from Australia 🇦🇺 )
Love of music didn't die with generation X.. Great music
is alive and well, as Mandolin Orange demonstrates..
They’re relationship and chemistry is so natural and smooth. On the same page, perfect harmony
I can't stop coming back to this video. The production is so good and the musical talent is bordering on magical. Seeing them live was every bit as special as I had hoped it would be... and then some. If they ever come to your town to play, don't hesitate a moment before buying tickets.
Audiotree is great for their sound, and they have good taste in music too :)
Wish Mandolin Orange would do another, longer, performance similar to this. Astounding!
Couldn't agree more. The production is amazing.
All round excellent. Thanks!
Just bought tickets to see them perform at the Blue Ridge Music Center alongside the Winston-Salem Orchestra. I'm stoked.
Wow. These two are spectacular...and you just know they've played thousands and thousands of hours.
I have watched this countless times in the past few years, could never ever get tired of it. Mandolin Orange surely is one of the best bands out there.
She’s so talented & beautiful id be glad to have her standin next to me playin anything!! Love these 2.
Mandolin Orange are a gift to music these days.
I cannot believe how great this makes me feel this is real soul
I recently discovered these guys and absolutely love them. They make the most beautiful music together! The fiddle on this video is perfect and flawless
These two wonderful musicians don't just play notes, they play music and sing songs from down deep..., with such synchronicity .
Gorgeous playing and singing. But I'm most impressed by the songs. Unusually great lyrics for such young artists. No silly love songs here! Ramcey in Nashville
Such incredibly beautiful music! Beautiful harmony, instrumentally and vocally!
She makes my hart throb as it did as a few times as a young man.and the two of them together is in chanting .a unique sound that takes me to my favorite place. North Carolina....takes me back in time.. before I became a disparado
The moment they began to play I was enveloped in the wonderful sound of their music. No aggressive. Not overbearing. It just fills you up. Really beautiful music.
One of the best Dylan covers I've ever heard.
St Paul&the broken bones
If you like that Dylan cover, listen to their cover of "Boots of Spanish Leather" here. One of the best around.
Oh yes, Dylan should be very glad.
Check out Jokerman by John Cruz!
I stumbled across this duo last week and can't stop listening, Cavalry by far my favourite, such talent, love their music. Richard Tunbridge Wells UK
Incredible performance! These two match so well vocally, like some cosmic attachment, with the perfect compliment of excellence instrumentally.
Hot damn. That little vocal flip she does on "there was a time" on the chorus is dope.
What can you say. Southing in troubled times. Pure honesty, meaningful and so beautiful music and relations.
It's a long time since I was blown away by a new musical expedience! I have fallen in love with ":House of Stone", The voices are beautiful and the violin is like smooth chocolate and the guitar is staccato and it all works in deceptively simple harmony. You've made my evening!
E.J. Hutton Violins, Bay City Michigan. As far as I can tell, they made them from around 1900 to the 1940s. Good old Michigan hardwoods :)
Nice. And even a brand new violin or fiddle is typically antiqued (relicing is the guitar term) during finish stages. People expect it to look like it's old. These young artists are creating music and lyrics that feel centuries old, a beautiful feeling. Surely they have old souls, as they say.
Best Maple in the world
A great little band. Saw them in Glasgow last year.
both so talented, the blend of their voices is beautiful, great songwritting also.....she looks like she's so beautiful inside out.
Been listening to these 2 for over 5 years. Never gets old
I often wake up with one of their tunes in my head. It won’t stop until I actually listen a few times. Addicting it is! Blessings on them and us.
They are stupendous in a live setting
Two people whose voices and playing blend together so well
Brilliant and opening song an absolute highlight of their album - that chorus is just simple and fantastic
just beautiful wow these musicians get amazing tone from their instruments and their sound is so full it sounds like four or five players instead of just two. and their voices are so sweet.
She is gorgeous! And a superb musician!
Man, I love finding great artist like this. Amazing music and musicianship from Mandolin Orange - Truly inspiring guys! And another great video and mixing production from Audiotree. Thanks.
Wonderful music and a charming atmosphere! I love it! My absolute favourite scene is the harmony singing in 25:12min on "Boots Of Spanish Leather". Absolutely great !!!
One of my biggest regrets was not driving an hour to Atlanta to see them live because I worked that day and was tired. They both have such beautiful voices
They will be around some other time! There was a reason that hour drive wasn't meant to happen! Love this band 💖💖💖
@@keemandikotravels I have noticed that concerts are starting to make a come back, here's hoping they M.O. will come my way
I'm glad I stumbled upon this. Never heard of them. Sounds pretty great
Beautiful music and presence. Thank you for sharing this gift with the world. I am deeply grateful.
you two are amazing ! love the music !
Beautiful souls, both of em - fabulous!
Thank you very much for this outstanding performance!
Such a trip listening to you guys. Thank you for the lovely sound.
Wonderful - I'm so happy I finally discovered Mandolin Orange / Watchhouse! Thanks to the Milk Carton Kids' "Sad Songs Comedy Hour"
It's been 8 years since this performance?! What is happening?! Gentlemen, may your wife look at you the way she looks at him.
So sweet, on this Valentine's Day, to discover this session, MO! I had to close mah eyes and let your synergistic music and personal vibes carry me to places in my emotional core that I don't have words for.. . and that's sayin' something. I got words for most things. I'm very happy for your continued success, both for you, and for those who will hear you. Thanks, Audiotree for being the messenger.
Wonderful duet, love the way their voices and instrument blends beautifully. Thanks for sharing
2 instruments and 2 vocals in perfect harmony, simply beautiful. No FX needed. Right up there on my gotta see Live list. Gorgeous.
When too energies form to Collide create, a sound that not many can grasp, a band like this, is a direction of hope; hope that happiness still exists, and bring a wave of pause in time, where people can be at peace. And be as One together as one force, threw history and present. To use the heart and bring there minds threw there trials and tribulations. The mind sees many aruas with this band, because if you sat down and talk with these folks and grasped their experiences it is good for food for thought. Great guitarist. My hats go off too you.
I heard them once and kept looking for them after that ... pure, young and beautiful. Look forward to hearing and seeing them in Northampton ~ this live show is an awesome treat. Thanks!!
Boots of Spanish Leather is easily my favorite version of this song--by far. Don't EVER be thinking of splitting up. The magic is the TWO VOICES (people) working together. And the excellent musicianship. I don't get why the name of the band changed.
Same here - discovered them and The Dead South in December - great Christmas “presents.” Not on this video but their song Wildfire is incredible - immediately in my all time top ten.
Same
some of the best music ever. such a great duet
best duet i've found in months... sweet youthful vocals...
Wish I had a talent like this
Fantastic she is woderful and Andrews voice is unthinkable...cool

If I could make music like you two I'd probably starve to death just listening to myself. Damn you are great.
Such a Merry compliment!!
Beautiful! I can't stop listening to this song.
Stumbled on to it and Mandolin Orange. Outstanding!
I love love love them and their voices, their music and their inspiration !! Wow xx
Best and most interesting version of this song that I have heard. Even more powerful than some other versions that they also have on UA-cam. The way that they play with the rhythm, the picking pattern, the tonality of the violin…truly beautiful
Great talent, awesome music, love to listen, Thank y'all for playing and sharing
Just lovin' Mandolin Orange....wish I still ran my Coffee House, I'd definitely be lookin' for you to sing and play.
Emily and Andrew, you're young. As time goes by and all the pieces of life fit together in your lives, you will experience the deeply spiritual feeling and meaningful awareness of the spirituals and hymns. They are part of America's great roots music tradition, and they've contributed to its greatness.
Over and over and over and over and over. I can't get enough.
Wow what a great band that is. The live performances i enjoy even more to the studioversions. So much heart in there.. please come visit vienna then ill book my ticket in the first row:)
Lovely sounds - I rarely find myself turning up the volume these days, but I definitely did with this clip - love your sound!
