Iraq used to be a very secular country, but thanks to Bush and BLiar it's now more religious! Officially tho the constitution states that Iraq is a civil governance. Also hijab (headscarf) is not compulsory (like Iran). But probably you'll mostly see girls with hijab and many without. So you don't have to wear it really unless when you visit a "holy" site. Stay safe beautiful English couple! 😍
Iraq a country of culture, history and poetry, very interesting destination, just wanna tell you a specificity about this country, before all what happen to 🇮🇶 ppl there were the most educated in all Arabic countries. 👏 for the choice .

Very interesting. Can't say Iraq is on any bucket list I've ever had but I'm sure it went fine as you've probably done 2 or more destinations since January. Surprised about all the hassle with Egyptian money but I guess that's a good warning to all of us.
I am planning this trip in 2024. Glad to hear the visa on arrival was quick, we had a 3 hour wait for our Kuwait visa on arrival from Riyadh. Thanks for these great tips 🎉

It's kind of crazy that almost every UA-camr I've ever known that goes to Egypt ends up having a similar experience. It's really too bad, as there is so much incredible history. 😔

That was the one knock that Harriet and I had about Egypt . Money Exchanging. We had some Egyptian Pounds left. when we flew back to the states, not as much as you guys. We had a hundred pounds left. funny enough here in usa no one would trade my UAE dinar and Swiss francs .. I was told it wasn't a large enough sum to do the exchange! and it was pretty darn close to meeting the quantity needed just some short. So I guess i'll keep it til I travel to either place again someday hopefully

When you're in London exchange your Egyptian money to British Pounds (or Euros, or US Dollars) for example in Edgware Road there is a lot of change shops, the rate will be shit but better than nothing
The rate is proper crap we checked today! I think it’s worth waiting for the money to change a bit

@@dabbleandtravel what was rhe weather like when you were there? It was pretty bad when I was there. Rained most days. Snowed a couple of times
If you are traveling to Egypt, only withdraw the bare minimum you will need for taxis, food etc. Credit cards are widely accepted in Cairo & most restaurants accept them. The Egyptian pound has been plummeting & nobody will want to trade them for euros or dollars. Also Egyptians do not like people filming.
Definitely something we normally do! But needed money for iraq so thought that would be the best option. No airports are really comfortable with filming to be honest!
