Hello, Many people say in the comments that I fear the way I will be treated when visiting Iraq. I answered him with the following reply. We do not hate any nationality in the world despite the strange things you hear about us. We are a peaceful and friendly people. We are glad to see tourists in our country. We will not take money from you. When you buy something, the doors of our homes open to welcome you, you are welcome and we are glad to have you 🫵🏻🤍

I honestly don't think that the Iraqi people cares where you come from, what nationality you are. 4:15 Molly, it's interesting to me that you find the "Ali Baba" monument to be "so random". I'm sure you know by now that Baghdad is home to a number of historical landmarks and monuments, each with its own unique story to tell. This particular monument is the statue of Kahramana, a symbol of resilience and strength that stands tall in the heart of the city. The fact that it was built five decades ago is a testimony to the talent of all Iraqi artists. I don’t think there is any other Arab country that showcases a contemporary work of art depicting a female heroine in the middle of their streets. The statue of Kahramana is more than just a piece of art; it is a powerful symbol of hope and inspiration. It serves as a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a brighter future. As Iraq continues to rebuild and move forward, the statue of Kahramana will remain a beacon of hope for generations to come.

Alshaheed monument was designed by the late Ismail Fattah Alturk, but it was executed by the Japanese. As for Kahrumana statue ( or Marjana, as she was named in The Arabian Nights) she was the bright maid of Ali Baba who stumbled across the cave (that opens with the magical password Open Sesame) where the gang of 40 thieves hid their treasures, and after finding out that the treasures were taken away by Ali Baba, they tried a camouflage by hiding inside 40 pots, and were introduced into Ali's house by their boss who pretended to be a merchant passing by asking for a place to sleep at, but that scheme was discovered by the smart maid Kahrumana who poured hot oil into the 40 pots. Nice work you got there covering different Iraqi landmarks 👍

I am Malaysian with many Iraqi friends. To those who have a very limited knowledge about Iraq, let me tell you something; IT IS SAFE TO VISIT IRAQ AND DONT LET MEDIA DESTROY YOUR PERCEPTION ABOUT IRAQ. It is a beautiful country and people are very kind and friendly.

Just found your videos on UA-cam while searching for ones from Baghdad. Great. I will probably be going to Baghdad in about 2 weeks from now. Just waiting for my visa. I am from Norway and therefore I will need one. Did you have a driver/guide for your whole trip or did you also travel around by yourself? If you should choose 2 places outside Baghdad, which one would you choose? I am a woman 60+ traveling the world by myself 🙂

Hey! That’s amazing. Good for you. We had a driver and translator purely for ease, making videos and trying to navigate checkpoints is more difficult so we’d recommend having someone to help you out. You can contact the tour company for help on your trip if you need to 🥰♥️

@@dabbleandtravel Thank you. I am traveling without a tour company. Which one are you using, if it is possible for you to inform me of that 🙂I went to Kurdistan way back in 2017 and had the perfect driver/guide there 🙂

Fermentation is implemented first by Sumerian’s (Iraqis) so they made the first beer for humans a few hundred years later they invented the distillation method in Baghdad and gave it the name Alcohol .(please Chat GBT it or maybe google it)

Night clubs aren't a rumor in Baghdad, you can find them in Al-Karadah and Al-mansour area. Also 4-5 stars hotels usually has bar and night club in Iraq with exception to holy cities.

you know I just stumbled on a Podcast by Shawn Ryan with Cody Alford and watched it, it really opened my eyes and I think people should watch it,
Cody mentioned a story with Great pride about Douglas A. Zembiec and I Quote "Major Zembiec was a man amongst men, he was called the Lion of Fallujah, before we went to the city he stood in front of a tank and he said that the dogs of Fallujah will go fat of feasting on the dead bodies we laid to waste, and that is exactly what happened, I actually saw a dog with a Hand on it's mouth."
hope you have a wonderful stay in Iraq :)
