Hey Mark! Devin here. Just wanted to say your production quality is insanely high. From lighting, to editing, to sound quality, etc. I especially love the various “set changes” (if you will). It’s something I’ve wanted to add into my videos, but I’m aware of how time consuming this can be. You are deserving of many many more subscribers than you have. Keep it up!

Thanks Devin, I appreciate your comments and thoughts. It’s funny as the last few videos have dropped off a cliff in terms of views. I consider them clear good thumbnails, well put together video, clear value for a target audience, but crazily the CTR in the first 48 hours had been as low as 0.9! My channel average is closer to 5. And should be higher in first few days as UA-cam tries it out on subscribers and previous watchers. I actually think it’s down to the YT shorts content I’ve thrown out over last 10 weeks. They’ve done well, but I feel some of the videos have confused the algorithm regarding audience. And it’s now putting the long form out to shorts subscribers who have no interest in the video. It almost feels broken, and it’s hard to produce the videos and see them bomb. Might have to pull the shorts for a while. Wanted to tell you as I know you’ve put shorts out on your channel and are at a similar stage. I’ve done research and read that it can impact people’s long form views, and some people like Jay Alto and Raffiti have suggested building up your core long form audience before introducing shorts (they’ve pulled them from their channel until audience grows) and making sure there’s a good relation between the two. It’s hard to give up though, as it’s an easier formula to work out regarding views and subs!

We all learn differently, my advice is to construct the learning methods that best suit you. The important thing is for you to be self aware of your learning

I have videos on reading strategies, take a look. May I ask how you came across the channel and at what level you are studying?
