    Hello, thank you for this video. It's very informative and I will definitely start learning the Gantt Table now. I also love your tips in dealing with supervisor. Can you do a more elaborate video on determining the Research Question? Since you said it's 50% of dissertation mark. I'm having trouble finding the Research Gap between the existing literature and existing phenomenon/problems found.

      Great that you found the tips useful! Yes, research question is the key indeed. Finding the research gap is a crucial skill not only for the dissertation needs but for being an effective thinker too - in fact, I love this topic so much. I can't promise that I will make a video on that issue in the near future but let me think about it, maybe I will, I should think about it first. Thank you for your feedback and comment!

    Hi, Ilnur
    You don´t know how much you are helping me with my Master´s thesis now.
    This is the first time that I am writing one, and I have struggled a lot to do it! But Your tools have been really helpful and clarifying.
    I would like to make you a question coming from your GANTT, though.
    >> How can one make an introduction without having looked for the Key Texts and read about them, yet?
    According to my plan, I should write my introduction next week, but I have not found all documents that I need, and how should I write an introduction without references?
    Could you please help me understand?
    Thank you a lot!!!

    • @IlnurMiftakhov
      @IlnurMiftakhov  2 місяці тому +1

      Hello. That's a very reasonable question. In fact, before writing your introduction, you have to be already somewhat acquainted with some key sources in your research area. Plus, you can write your intro to around 70% readiness and then go further. The important thing in the very beginning of your project is for your intro to represent the main plot of your research - which can be done without having read all the articles in the world. Later on, as you do your reading and come up with some more important sources, you can go back and refer to them in your introduction. If this makes sense.

    ok you literally took me out when you said you were working 20 hours a week while writing your dissertation. Currently, I feel my job is stressing me so much cuz I work nights. It takes me about 2 days to recuperate from the stress I face walking and working for 7 hours for 3 nights back to back. and that leaves me with only 2 or 3 days to put in the actual work on my dissertation so I decided to quit work for a month.

    The structure triangle doesn't make sense to me at all. So are you saying the bigger the dissertation the more number of words you need to have at the start? your triangle is inverted so it seems to me what you're saying is that the bigger the dissertation the smaller number of words at the start and then you go in depth as you go along. Is this what you mean?

    • @IlnurMiftakhov
      @IlnurMiftakhov  2 роки тому

      The triangle model gives you a structure and number of words you need to adhere to in every single section of your dissertation. So that you if your triangle says you can only afford 1000 words in your Introduction Chapter, you don't do it 2000 words, otherwise the whole dissertation will suffer. That's basically it.
