Great review and I agree a great watch.

$3000? Seiko is out of their collective minds. The Hamilton Intra-Matic Chrono is $2000 and is a significantly better watch IMO. Its a beautiful watch for sure, but not at that price.

What makes the Hamilton better? Let's spec them out !

@@EricSloferwatchreviews Well, the Hamilton has a more wearable case at 40mm. They both have Sapphire crystals, date wheels at the 6, and beautiful dials. I much prefer the H-31 Caliber over the 8R caliber, as I feel the H-31 has a more reliable, accurate movement. Seiko lists the accuracy for the 8R at +25 to -15 Seconds a day. It really comes down to the fact that Seiko charges $1000 more at retail for essentially a watch that is on par or even slightly below the Hamilton, but that is just my opinion. Love the videos you put out!

@@chriswatchreviews4752 Correct me if I'm wrong but Hamilton H-31 is just a modified ETA 7753, cam pusher & lateral clutch vs column wheel & vertical clutch.

Sorry but you're spewing garbage. Yes Seiko give wide tolerances but in reality you'd be very unlucky to be even close to them. The reality is usually a maximum of 10 seconds discrepancy. You also ignore the fact that the Seiko is a vertical clutch column wheel, which is a much more expensive way of building them. Omega used to do this with their Speedmaster but ditched it post moon because it's such an expensive movement to produce. The Hamilton is a good watch and was on my list, but I purchased this Seiko. It's infinitely better built and mine is running +10 PER WEEK. First you said the Hamilton was a better quality movement, then you modified that to on par. You did at least realise the stupidity of your statement

it’s not as much of a status symbol as price would suggest, that solves not flying off the shelves conoundrum, good watch for sure and a beautiful one, it should be 1500$ as is, considering it’s Seiko…🙄💯❤️👊🏻⌚️

What does Pro Specs even mean now. This isn't a professional instrument like an ISO diver or even a tachy chrono...

I'm going have to say probably the in-house - automatic chronograph - column-wheel and vertical clutch architecture.

I'm gonna get hate on this but I think the shinola Canfield speedway is better than this.

Great ⌚. . .but. . .the price is not so much.
Seiko really is not pricing accordingly.
Yes: an automatic chronograph with a vertical clutch mechanism can cost MUCH more than $3000.
Yet, is $3000 far from other 🇨🇭 vertical clutch Mechanism chronograph ⌚?
    Not sure.
If 2 mm thinner, I would not balk at the price for a second, but 15.3 mm thick case is a pretty hefty piece of steel.

Name me a vertical clutch column wheel chronograph from a mainstream manufacturer that you can buy for less

Have you tried this ⌚ on your wrist?
Try buttoning your cuff or wearing a French cuff shirt.
The answer is that one cannot.
Look, I am not averse to describing it as an exceptional ⌚, but it is too damned THICK!!!
PLUS. . .I was able to get the Pitzmann 3 with essentially the SAME mechanism (the Pitzmann is a tricompax dial instead of a bicompax dial) for $1299, which becomes $1499 after 31 Mar 2024!!!
Even on the gray market, where I got a NEW Longines Heritage Pulsometer Chronograph for $2800, after taxes and shipping, these Seiko Prospex Speedtimer editions are STILL $2000+!!!
It is important to note that BOTH ⌚ are vertical clutch column wheel chronograph mechanisms that are 13.2 mm thick instead of 15.3 mm!!!
The 8R46/48 mechanism is great, and undervalued, and Pitzmann is not a "mainstream brand."
Nonetheless, the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer editions do not offer much better - if at all - for much more.

Yes I have. I've just come back from a month in Japan where I was able to compare it with several of it's competitors, and for me nothing came close. I realise that as a hater of the brand and a clearly very shallow person you'll never understand this,

Shallow person? Your knowledge of ⌚ is limited UA-cam and visits to authorized dealers. For those of us with higher education and professional experience, objective evaluation is rooted in FACT and not conjecture.
Hater of the brand? How many Seiko ⌚ do you own personally, you daft brush? I will only happen to buy JDM models, whether overseas or in 🇯🇵, which reflects a committed relationship with the brand that you more than likely lack.
What competitors have you mentioned? 🤔. . .NONE. Did you spend all of your waking hours looking for one of these inferior alternatives in the same price bracket after perhaps two hours in Ginza? A month in Japan: little seen and even less learned.
Seiko happens to be one of my favorite brands, but this does not obligate me to pay $3000+ to wear an Oreo cookie on my wrist to be a brand loyalist.
For those of us that have dress professionally, the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer does not work, which makes it an expensive toy.
Now while I could list far more Seiko ⌚ than your cognitively deficient brain could handle, I will not care to argue with an idiot for fear of having to revert to your prokaryotic level of communication and cognition.
Just stay in 🇬🇧, 🇦🇺, or wherever you came from and THINK before you comment, though your comments evidence basic recall and comprehension.
Even if you do buy a Seiko Prospex Speedtimer, my condolences to you when case gets scratched banging a door because it is too bloody thick, you pillock.
