Doug is awesome! I look forward to his video builds daily. You have to have a personality to watch Doug’s channel. It’s not for “everyone”. Keep doing what your doing Doug. Some of us see and recognize the work you do. You have a family to provide for, stay true to yourself as your videos are a direct reflection of who you are. Apologize to no one. Keep going sir!
I actually used Herculiner to cover the exterior of a FG box I made a few years ago. It was just a small thing with a shallow RF 10" sub in it, but you put that on a piece of carpet and the coating kept it from going anywhere lol. Could kick the damn thing and it would pull the carpet with it. Never faded, always had like a rubbery feel to it and it seemed to dampen the box a little. Between the Herc outside and the flock inside, it was a tight sounding enclosure, even with the plexi window on the front.
Hey Doug thanks for showing that new NVX piece! That DSP looks so simple functionality awesome 👍 Watching your Mule rebuild cool, nothing against Mac but time for some new and smaller chassis tryouts and NVX has great products you already know...😂 I know! I use a brand Recoil similar to NVX in many applications, but not equal. Anyways what about adding a second NVX matching 5- channel on that backboard, then split the power from each amp down the vehicle.. so Amp A runs left side and Amp B runs right side, each pair of channels bridged...your Hybrids would love the Xtra power in those sick kick panel glass pods as you are the "fiberglass master" no doubt, just thinking 2 mirror amps would look killer is all! Great vid ..stay cool ..keep building man ;) I'm old school-
I agree, save the Mac for something else. Use something compact. There's so many efficient compact amps out there that put out real power. Keep the downsize theme going.
One of my favorite systems from around 10 years ago was the NVX X Series 5.25 components with the similiar model of SB Acoustics 8" midbass. It was a sweet 3 way setup ran from 2 of the NVX JAD800.4 amps. Subwoofer was an Image Dynamics IDMAX 12 and eventually the NVX X series 10" for a front sub. NVX has made some sick stuff!!
I love this channel. It's got that mid 2000s vibe. I'm just getting into car audio and my two observations: JL and AudioControl are the best. Period. And anything cheaper than NVX is gonna be a fire starter. I'm still in my decision making phase of if I want a DSP, 5 channel, or mono block, fancy line out, or just ram a speaker level signal to a JL amp and let it deal with it.
The only reason I laugh at your struggles with mounting the amp etc is that I go through the same thing every time I try to do something. I ask the same question, why am I having trouble? Keep it up Doug. To help I calm myself with a Bourbon Dougie, 2 shots of Bourbon (Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Blanton's) and Diet Ginger Ale over ice.
Looks good Doug. About 20ish years ago I was building a frame off 1992 S-10 Mini. I had the bed and cab sandblasted and sealed. I used the Duplicolor bed liner system as an undercoating and on the floor of the cab which used the similar bulk Gallon and spray cans. Your result was exactly like mine. I ended up using 3 coats but the texture and finish looked exactly to you yours does.
I'm sponsored by Raptorliner and you can most definitely roll it own. Also, since it's a Y2K product, you can add a leveler to the base and hardener to help out. Yes it gets brush strokes out but if you are using a 3-4in roller, it'll get rid of the over lapping lines of extra material. The Blue Foam-Pro line of brushes are amazing! They are super durable and leave the best finish between a smooth surface and a rough surface. Just a great medium. If washed out with warm water, they will last for quite a while. Here's a link to the 4-in rollers. Their full size rollers are just as great. Doug, if you would like, I can get you a considerable discount on some Raptorliner to "reevaluate".... LOL. By the way, I love seeing you do work on the Mule! It's one of the coolest unique rides that I know of and very much deserves more exposure in my opinion. Just let me know if you need anything I'll even have some extra rollers and brushes.
That Herculiner, thats what i used for my sub box. Best of the best. Its got a texture now thatll rip flesh from the bones. 2 coats and wow!! 4 x 12 inch BDC2s in an 11 cb ft slot ported box. 250lbs empty.
I can't wait to see Doug give up halfway through this build too. Maybe he will try and hock it at the local flea market. Keep up the great work Doug. I can't believe the Van is gone.
You have to cuss the fuck out of inanimate objects because if you hit it, it hurts. And the shit breaks when you throw it, so cussing is all you got left.
I understand the "sq mindset" for next project...pays better. However, we all got the initial itch with the bass. Once that van is finished, it's a rolling billboard. Take your next SQ project at the same meet as van, and destroy your market. Still have much hope for bass van. J.
@@SunsetWingman well yeah, obviously... but 90% of people are retarded and that's why these money making schemes for businesses work... if you purchase anything electronic you've fallen for it. Everyone's using all the same crappy Chinese products, but with different higher-end logos on the front.
You've been fixing the Mule so long, I had a whole ass kid. He's 6, and you're still not done. I'm thinking when he graduates in 2035, I'll buy it for his graduation present. Might be done. Probably not.
2:57 I laughed my ass off at this part lol..... I can't count how many times I've been in some uncomfortable position trying to make something fit while inventing new cuss words
Doug -- Listen to me. Are you hearing me, Doug? This is possibly your best video -- like ever. It doesn't matter what you did to Rafa's Mom, Doug. Keep up the good work, brother. At least your boots were pretty for the first few minutes. And never -- I repeat NEVER...put Herculiner on your taint.
I haven’t seen wiring that messy outside of a trailer park build. On top of that you used a so so product, applied over an improperly prepared surface. It’ll be fine..only has to shine till the new owner passes the curb right doug 😂
I bought the raptor bed liner for my truck but haven’t use it yet, this looks good and easy to apply. Might have to give it a try. Would you think that one can be enough for a 5.7 bed, Doug?

It's a good day when we get an upload from our boy Doug-e-Fresh
Love the episode! Reminds me of the older Soundmans! The explosions are top notch comedy! Keep them coming!
Would you please do a review of the DSP. And let us know how it works.
Looks good buddy. The mule has always been one of my favorite builds on UA-cam.
doug you brighten my day first your'e making your own security screws and then you make your own arc welder thank you for making my day better

The most classic Soundman Vid that I have seen a while! Still got it Doug.
I hope he never end The Mule... I love this videos...

NVX has made some sick stuff!!
My jad800.4 died two days ago after 10 years of use. I was so sad!
I can't believe I've been watching your channel for nearly 10 years. Thanks for all your content Doug.
Hey Doug, look at the top of the drill. There's a fast and slow switch marked 1 and 2.
The computer screen was blowin me up during the bedliner music cut.... Niieecce!!!
Need epoxy primer over the bare metal & body filler before you bed line the stuff. Typing this before I know if you did it!
I want the mule so bad! Such a dope ride and my ninja Doug built it! I care what you did Doug 😏

I went with mono and I’m gonne be upgrading to 5 channel now

Dougs grandson might be old enough to drive by the time the Mule is done

Put the drill in reverse when mixing. Works so much better.
I got some V series in my mini. Looking forward to running an amp onto them and seeing what they can really do.
Nice and yeah I went to a stereo show. It was amazing. Never knew 160db was so loud 😄✔️it out.
Always majorly saving my life motivational to me.... Salute , blessings to everyone grind and motivations.....

Herculiner is really good stuff.. I've used it to seal up my floor underneath the vehicle, sealed up my new radiator support and my 6th order bandpass
Bedliner, good way to cover up bodywork imperfections. Looks good, looks real good.
You are just a funny ass guy. I binge on your videos everyday!
that intro never gets old love it Mr man!
I have this NVX dsp paired to the NVX 6 channel loc connected to 5 channel soundstream reserve amp and sub and it sounds absolutely amazing
Finally some carstereo thing in this carstereoshow😅👍

Doug keep up the good work making awesome UA-cam videos
Rip it

I absolutely love how you don't bleep out the cursing. Anyone who has worked on cars, especially wiring, cuss the fuck out of the inanimate objects 😂

Raptorliner from Slamazon does a good job as a roll on. its swell.

J.
That DSP looks like they took a miniDSP, put a new case on it, and jacked up the price
That's how you make money, duh😂
@@sethh8892 But you can actually just buy a miniDSP already
@@SunsetWingman yeah, but a cmpany could just rebox a product and sell it for more to make more money... Thats how companies make money😂
@@sethh8892 You mean how they try to make money. If you are smart you buy the same thing for less.

That’s a solid Turd,
Mark is shook up.
Good job, Douglas!
You need Dean and Fernando for 5-Star car audio to fix that nightmare😢
Doug your the man.. Keep that shit going. One video at a time. Take your time. and burn it all. lmao.
Rip it and grip it
2:57 I laughed my ass off at this part lol..... I can't count how many times I've been in some uncomfortable position trying to make something fit while inventing new cuss words
I wish they had a phone app to control the dsp. Not a deal breaker but still.
Doug’s next build is a Tahoe with the F150 box with the ports into the driver and passenger seat backs and the mule box in the way back.
cant wait for the motor to go in!! hopefully it wont take 2 weeks like this damn paintjob... but all good things are worth waiting for!!!

Nice my dad has a 15" NVX 1500 rms watt subwoofer.
I really want that NVX XDSP66BT DSP. I just can't afford one right now, hopefully soon. My whole system is waiting.
Can you just use this as a headunit? And stream everything bluetooth. Just use youre phone for volume control
Awesome Video Doug
next build should be the Chevy. killer sound system with a slick ipad install and airbags😎
do you plan on finishing the interior as well? i know at one point you were trying to fabricate a console or something if memory serves.
Hey you are using a accuair vu4! I've built those!😊
Poor Doug's been getn bullied by Rodger for years now! He's the only reason I work late! Gotta get that OT baby!
I’ll put some stained wood in the parts where the bed liner ain’t. Keep the vids coming Doug
Ripped it
I used that Herculiner on my sub box and it worked well.
It worked swell?
A cheaper turd brings more joy then a high car payment!!! Yes!!!
Great video Doug was wondering when you were going to finish the mule😮
Good Old-School video!
Frequancy overlap on dsp? (Deal with standing/shorter waves).
Did you get a headlight for the mule from when you broke it
CAF has some great videos on clean wiring
@ 12:32 good masking job!
Hope you're staying coll out there Doug! It's hot here in LA, and I know it's even hotter in Santa Clarita. 🥵
Keep it up like Rafa’s mom

Love the little Doogie howsier theme song... Now go type in your journal with Vinny
I came up an awesome excuse to tell my wife why we NEED to buy the mule. It’s on a sticky note somewhere…
Grip it and rip it bro
I like Zen Doug 🧘🏻 Keep the Confucius coming 📿🙏
Hey Doug I live in Australia so if you can convert the Mule to right hand drive i'll buy it off ya...
Listening to you work I thought I was hearing my self 😆
I went away for 5 years, came back, still fucking around with the mule😂
This is my new favorite channel. I can relate. Died @ 21:27 LMFAO!
Does this DSP have individual eq per channel?
I bought the raptor bed liner for my truck but haven’t use it yet, this looks good and easy to apply. Might have to give it a try.
Would you think that one can be enough for a 5.7 bed, Doug?
don't do it man use the raptor liner it looks 100% better
NVX XDSP66BT Processor can be manipulated with a bluetooth App ???????
Why do you have to plan to sell the project to finish it. I’ve been waiting since 2016 atleast to see you finish the mule.
It'll be a miracle if you even finish the mule.
When you have adhd and start new projects before you Finnish the current ones you're working on haha get your shit together Doug ❤️
How does the nvx dsp sound
You said wait till we see Your next system, we haven't seen the first system 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂So far the van never bumped !!!!
"A New Hope" , fucking genius :D
Ur the Confucius of youtube car audio...let's just call you sensei Doug
Man tell the wife you fugged up when you killed the bass van series.. and your gonna finish it if she likes it or not.. mentioning this for a friend!
Why is this show not in DISCOVERY CHANNEL OR TURBO CHANNEL
It always matters what you did Doug
Doug's pain is our viewing pleasure.
Da Fu!! I haven’t been getting notifications!
Hell yeah..
Nice bro 👌
Thanks SloJoe84 - Now you've ruined the surprise. I hope you're happy now.

Doug would love to seena class a/b Down4Sound build.
Doug needs to watch more Dean and Fernando 🤣
Clean that up, son! 😂
Great vid. I missed the nuke
Has it twisted yet?
