It's so easy to take topics at face value and believe what you are taught, but it is SO important to study for ourselves... Dewayne, I gotta say I'll sure miss your tack room, common sense chats. Many of which have been inspiring, and educational. Im glad to hear somebody standing up for the faith, and not becoming worldly to make people happy. True, genuine folks are far and few between. Be you man its why I've watched all this time. My Pastor is retiring after 40 years and always preaches what God says. He says he wants to stand before Jesus and know he preached the truth.
What about other religions that say they are true? Not all of them can say they are the truth, there is only one truth.
@@MorsOktober They say it, some belive that. But when God, Our Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit enter a human's life and that human is open to them in humility, the Truth of them is impossible to deny. The Trinity is real, may you be given the grace to know them.

I really don't hope that a "few" religious bullies will make you stop doing cigar videos Mr. Noel. I know it's more than a few, but remember that for every one of them - there are thousands of us who appreciate what you say and you are helping so many of us to find meaning in our own lives.
I'm an atheist but because of you, I started to read the Bible. In your book recommendations video, you said that someone who loves litterature has to read the the Bible. And so I'm reading it. It's not gonna change my view on religion BUT I do find bits of wisdom, in it, that I can actually use in my life.

Praying you have an encounter with the Lord. Jesus was not for religion either. Its all about a personal relationship with Jesus. Not religious traditions.
I think Jesus would really struggle with 99% of the churches today. All the masks, performances, music and worship bands, I don't think he would recognize a lot of that. I think we neglect our spirituality at our own peril. The number one thing in life is to have a connection to God. If you have that, everything else is window dressing.

Thank you for sharing these videos. I watched both, regarding forgiveness. My son was killed by a drunk driver who came from a law enforcement family and the guilty party was protected from consequence while I was threatened and harassed. People act like I am just supposed to “forgive”- my concern is regarding those who take an oath to the people and then instead use their positions as privilege; my concerns are about corruption… “all that it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing”. People try to use the Bible to manipulate me into a complacent victim mindset… and that actually drives many away from church. What you spoke helped me. Thank you.

I don't attend church because of the lifelessness of what is taught there.
It reminds me of this:

Go church shopping. I recently learned this term. I moved to a new city, been going to almost every church till I find one, still seeking 2 years in.
Church is a body of Christ, I think it’s a good sacrifice to make to Christ to find his church and even if we don’t, we at least didn’t give up.

Greetings from Greece. I have watched all your philosophical videos and I have great respect for you. In this matter of forgiveness you are absolutely correct!!! Unfortunately, many people have read the gospel (that's what we call the bible), but few have understood what Jesus really taught. And the fact that you stay away from the church is also a sign of healthy and deep Christian thinking. And if Jesus were to come again on Earth, he too would be outside of today's church. I wish you all the goods. You offer a lot to the people who happen to watch you.
I left a comment pertaining to that particular verse on the last video. I am a prodigal son with two years crawling along in my life in Christ after losing 40 years in the wilderness. I'm still an infant in my bible studies so It probably would've helped to address this particular verse in the last video because it is one of the most popular on forgiveness, but I understand clearly where you are coming from now and appreciate you taking the time to address this and clarify your thoughts. I will work harder to become a better student of the word and thank you for all of your video lessons. You are a very enjoyable teacher and may God continue to bless you and yours in Jesus name.....

I hope that God convicts you to continue to do these types of videos because you’re right. You have a great platform to spread the TRUTH in Gods word. No matter the dissent that comes with it. Paul as you well know, was ship wrecked, beaten, stoned to death and still went on preaching throughout. You’re able to spread the word to the uttermost parts of the world from your ranch and I think that is a fantastic opportunity to lay up more treasures in heaven. The very first purchase I made when I started my seminary courses was a copy of Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, for the very reason you’re talking about. Everything is context when we look at Scripture.

It’s plain to see that you are a learned man and a gifted communicator, and a great many of us get an awful lot from your work. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, you’re a beacon in the dark.
When you step into the realm of discussing Bible and theology on UA-cam, you've got to be prepared for some pushback. It's part and parcel of engaging in these discussions, especially in a platform as diverse as UA-cam. Response videos are just a part of the UA-cam culture, especially when it comes to theological discussions. So, if someone's going to delve into that arena, they better be ready to stand firm and engage with the challenges that come their way.
Forget those people, they don’t need to be saying nothing. They need to relax and chill.

Hi Dewayne, I agree with you that context is always key. I thank you for bringing this interesting discussion up, I never commented on your last video I never felt the need to; I’m writing this as a fellow fervent student of Gods Word and as a brother also interested in the correct interpretation and hermeneutical value of scripture. Although I respectfully disagree on this particular point it’s my personal belief that believers must extend to others-especially to fellow believers- the forgiveness and love that God has extended to us. In the same way, because the Israelites were purchased from slavery in Egypt, they were to have a special regard for aliens, slaves and the dispossessed in their own midst. The same logic is found in Jesus’ new commandment “as I have loved you, that you also love one another” and in v”Matthew 6 in regards to the Lord’s Prayer-“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Like you said a concordance is essential and so is cross reference where else in scripture a word has been used; I have put some below in regards to the word ‘forgiving’ used in this verse in Ephesians.

I'm a conservative Catholic and I agreed with just about everything you said about forgiveness and reconciliation. The only minor quibble I had was that there's a difference between when God forgives and when we forgive. When God forgives, that creates a change in the person which reconciles him to God. When we forgive, we don't change the person we forgive; so, it does not cause reconciliation or stop that person from being our enemy. We should still pray for the malefactor as St. Stephen and the early Christians prayed for Saul's conversion and ultimate good. And, if we have the power and authority to stop that person from doing more harm, we should do so. At any rate, you were just about completely right.

I am a Bible teacher, and I cannot in good conscience teach “commanded unconditional forgiveness”. I would be telling people that they have to be more forgiving than God. It is a weighty topic, and oft cheapened with our modern apology. I’m glad you have some Bible sense!

unconditional forgiveness is a commandment, as Christ says in the Sermon on the Mount, "Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect." Mt 5:21-48, 6:14-15, 18:21-35, Jn 8:2-11, and Lk 23:34 also teach the same, but i think a common misunderstanding is that forgiveness implies reconciliation with non-believers. it does not. reconciliation is really only possible within a church community where members are accountable to and for another, but forgiveness is always possible and doesn't require us to forfeit our boundaries. unless Christ was capable of uttering the words "father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing," we would not be celebrating his death and resurrection to this day.
@@ffii7773 These passages in Mathew concern the kingdom of heaven, which I am not in. I, like Paul, am in the kingdom of God. He could call his own brothers fools without fear of hell fire, because he knew the difference (O foolish Galatians). I also do not need to fear being thrown bodily into hellfire. That is future. When Jesus returns to rule and reign with a rod of iron, the kingdom of heaven rules will be in force. You can get some good spiritual lessons from them, but they are not my doctrine. John 8 is irrelevant on this point. Luke 23;34 is between Jesus and those who murdered him. Did God forgive them? When Acts begins, the apostles message to Israel is to get right with God because they killed the One God sent.They were told to repent! That is not unconditional. As a nation, they did not! Seeing they judged themselves unworthy Paul turned to the gentiles.
Not everything in the gospels is for me, I understand the difference between the ministry Jesus had toward Israel and the building of his Church.
Forgiveness is always possible! And the best route. And I always encourage it. And we will be disagreeing over many things until the end! ;)
Each in their own order, 1 Corinthians 15:20-28. 1 Timothy 4:10 as most Christians do the opposite of v.11 with bad news. Then 1 John 2:2.
To study… is to begin with, I don’t know. Then build… great word for this Easter morning.

Dewayne, I recently watched your follow-up video addressing my reaction to your video on 'The Burden of Forgiveness,' and I want to extend my apology as it seems my response was upsetting to you. It was never my intention to cause you any distress or offense.
I respect the work you do and the positive impact you've had through your content. My reaction was an expression of my own understanding of forgiveness from a biblical perspective, and my own struggle with forgiveness that has helped me understand that forgiveness is a supernatural work of God.
I made a comment respectfully stating my slightly different view on it and it dissapeared. Is Dewayne known for deleting comments? It makes me sad if so, especially since I basically agreed and added a slight different perspective respectfully (which did include Jesus on the cross as part of it)
I only delete comments that are extremely rude, disrespectful and offensive. I never delete comments that simply disagree with me. UA-cam has an algorithm that I have not been able to figure out yet, and there are certain words and combination of words that will cause them to delete a comment on their own. I used to go in and find these UA-cam deleted comments and approve them and let them show back up. But that got to be so much work. I could not keep up with it. I don’t know why your comment was, but if this was the case, I feel bad that it got deleted, but I had nothing to do with it.

One of the things I love and respect most about my pastor is that he will tell you, “If I say something that contradicts the Scripture, please tell me so that we can discuss it together. Because I am fallible but I do not want to lead anyone astray from God.”

Thank you for helping me to understand forgiveness only comes when they ask for it. I’ve felt that way my whole life, but you identified it for me. We ask God to forgive us, then he is faithful and just to forgive. We have to wait for them to ask us

Thank you for being so transparent with your feelings Mr Dewayne. I grew up in the Dutch style of Christianity. Dutch reformed church. And I left this when I was about 20years old. The gatekeeping was so much, that it almost cost me my faith entirely and for a while I explored other avenues of religion. But God is good and I found my way back to Jesus. And I saw now that my faith wasn't the problem and Christianity wasn't either, it was just alot of people in the church institution. I am more deep into my faith now than I was back then and I understand the concepts even better now without these people muddying the water. Do you to see how we have been trained by teachings of too many twisted scriptures---
and the requirement to blindly agree with everything the preacher says.
We have to UNLEARN a lot!!
So do Pastors, elders, and gate keepers.
So I now I find myself asking questions.
It brings about a better understanding.
More of us should ask more questions within The Body/Church.
But for a question to cause irritation and then be called ignorant, that's petty and unfair!
If anyone asks me questions, to ever clarify my stand on forgiveness or anything else I am certain of ~
I would never accuse them of being ignorant. Romans 14 instructs me to welcome the weak in faith.
I would patiently and gently answer their questions so they could understand better.

A week ago was my Grandfather's one year memorial. He was 85 years-old when he passed. I was blessed to be taught wisdom and patience and faith by that man. He was looked up to by many people. Now, I watched your Forgiveness video and I respect your method, but I think that you can forgive people without them asking forgiveness and afterwards just stop treating them the same as before. This would be punishment enough for them to realise there is something wrong with what they have done, and you won't need to have that baggage on your backburner. I found out that I can not foget if I don not forgive, and what I can't forget is something unpleasant but when I forget, all I'm left with is this divine experience that is life. My Grandad always forgave people even without them asking forgiveness and I used to wonder why, but now I understand. To be able to forgive requires strength and the moment you aquire that strength means you have already forgave them within your heart, no need for them to come to you. It's a matter of timing and healing your emotional wounds from the experience. If you haven't healed you are not strong enough to forgive even if the one who wronged you kneels and lowers his head to the ground before you.
I can't take credit for what I wrote. This I learned by following my Grandad footsteps. I mean no disrespect to you. I am speaking out of experience, not getting religious here. I just wanted to put it out here even if I risk on getting backlash or worse - ignored. Other than that I've been a subscriber for a while. You are much appreciated, keep on going.
