What I love about IndiGo is their "Flexi Plus" fare on domestic sector is only INR 300~500 (USD 4~6) higher than their cheapest "Saver" fare, which comes with free seat selection, a meal, and a choice of drink. That's a super good deal, on top of that the legroom is quite good on forward row seats.
I was in India in October and I took 4 Indigo flights. All flights left right on time and arrived 5 minutes early. Boarding was done for 200 pax in 25 minutes. Crew was nice and hustled the whole flight. Aircraft were clean and brand new. They take any full service airline in the US around the park.
Here in Agartala, Indigo has single handedly captured the market with so many daily flights and also added direct connections to Bengaluru and Delhi. But that also means other airlines have a tough time operating here as Indigo has been notorious for driving out competitors from here.. Air Asia and Spicejet had to stop operations because of that.
@@kichaa13 not really! Indigo has a lot of money and a huge fleet.. every time these airlines launched a new route Indigo would launch an additional flight on the same route at just a short time gap with fares lower than the other airline.. this would go on for months until the other airline feels the losses are unbearable and winds up their operations.. Indigo would then continue the service for some time with increased fares or simply suspend that service later
As an aviation enthusiast who has flown with indigo like a million times i can say that they are always on schedule and i think they are the best airline operating in india. Recently i flew with indigo and the flight departed 5 mins early and reached the destination 25 mins early but there cons are that the seats are not that *comfy* and the legroom is ok probably because it is a low-cost carrier. otherwise if i had to choose luxury i would go with vistara or air india (in india)... one tip - dont fly with spicejet trust me brother you dont want to

Hello Kevin. Another good trip report. Seeing the efficiency of IndiGo Airlines makes me wish that some of the airlines here in Canada (are you reading this Air Canada and Sunwing) could be as efficient. Keep up the good work!
Hands down the best review out on youtube. The time stamps and the other information like your upcoming videos are very helpful and also shows your professionalism. You also read and reply to every comment during your tight schedule. Indigo does best at having clean aircraft, low prices, perfect on time arrival and take off, safety and on time baggage collection. Overall a very professional airline. Never a rough landing. Cant expect much interactions with the cabin crew. Its good because they just do their work properly. Food is always a problem on indigo. You dont get what you pre-ordered sometimes.
Great video, thanks! My cousin is one of their senior captains, she’s been with them from the start. I agree they definitely deserve to thrive. However, it’s clear the Tatas are coming and now it’s a genuine fight between qualified competitors, both Indian business royalty. I do hope it’s not to the death.
Discovered this channel a few days ago and it’s already my favourite airline and hotel review channel. Awesome content, fabulous camera work and incredible narration. Keep it up!

Amazing review as always 👏 I always fly local european carriers and I can say that None of them matched the class of Indigo. All local planes in Europe literally sell their base ticket without baggage that got me in trouble many times due to the complicated algorithm but Indigo always provides baggage allowance along with the base ticket... Indigo is the best 👌
I have just been able to catch up on the review of the Taj Hotel and this one. Was very curious about Indigo, since they have the ex KLM CEO Pieter Elbers as their new CEO since last year. Wonderful to see they are doing so well. Of course this is not thanks to Elbers since the groundwork for this operation has been laid many years ago. It’s just a feel good story for me, since he was very popular within KLM for his approachable style of management and was unceremoniously ousted by Ben Smith from AF/KLM. Absolutely stunned by their size and the numbers you mentioned in the video! Loved The Taj review as well. Have my husband hooked on your reviews now too, so thank you on behalf of the two of us for your wonderful content 🙏🏼💎
One of the reasons I love adding context to the airline videos is just because of this. As much as I read about Indigo in preparation for publishing this video, I had no idea their CEO was ex KLM. I knew his AF/KLM departure story but hadn’t known where he had landed. Happy to learn about this! Each airline is its own never ending story it seems haha. Thanks as always for your support 🙏🏻
@@tfft To add to this, their CEO was from 2008 to 2018 was Aditya Ghosh who laid the foundation for the airline in India. He is now the co-founder of Akasa Air along with Vinay Dube. Vinay Dube is ex-CEO of Jet Airways and Go Airways (GoFirst).
The Akasa story makes sense. Also flew them and was (almost) as impressed as with Indigo- except they better fit the “all LCCs are delayed” stereotype lol
I have flown Indigo on Mumbai to Bangalore and Mumbai to Jaipur round-trip. Service was excellent, crew was friendly, flights were reliable and on time and the aircrafts were spotless. Cheers from Mumbai. India ❤️💜💚💜
Very true. Dozens of times I have flown on Indigo and definitely they are on-time every time and reach the destination earlier many a times ...how they manage to do is marvelous !!! Keep it up "goIndigo" !!!
I live in Sydney, Australia & I fly Indigo domestically every time I come to India. I have never had any issues with them. The crew are courteous & professional & the flight is almost always on time. Even better now that they are a domestic partner for Qantas.
Very innovative carrier, another great in-flight review. NW in the 80’s used to have supervisors and management on jetways and cabin, assisting customers with baggage regrettable the unions got involved and the concept was discontinued… Stay Healthy & Carry on… 😊
Hello, I recently found your channel and really like it. I fly Indigo at least 6-7 per year and find them to be very reliable. They will even arrange a special bus for you if you have a short connection! However, their service is extremely slow and their food pricing is steep. You usually do not get what you pre-book. I recommend Indigo to improve this. Thanks
I have been travelling with Indigo for more than 8 years now and they are the only airline in the domestic sector which is reliable and on-time. Go Air and Air India is notorious for delays and cancellations while Air Asia is improving recently. For premium experience, Vistara is better than any other airline currently in the domestic sector. Earlier catering on Indigo was so bad but now they have revised the menu and food options are much better. One thing I need from Indigo is better seats as they are not comfortable for more than 1 hr flights. Apart from that, everything else is top notch and even the crew also they rarely disappoint. Lets see whether Air India can beat the monopoly of Indigo in coming years.
Just to think that before the 1990s, Indian Airlines (acquired by Air India in 2007) had a legal monopoly on domestic air travel. In the 1990s when their legal monopoly ended, they still held an 80% market share. The low-cost boom in India was so quick that airport terminals which were previously quite tiny (enough to suit their low demand) had to suddenly adapt - which is why India has super modern airport terminals.
did you see the Metro stations in Shenzhen, Beijing? I am not talking about airports. Metro stations. India has a very long way to go with their airports. but as long as the connectivity is there, just like Middle-east carriers, then it should not be a problem. But lounges have to be improved as well for premium passengers.
@@bismayparida2115 Yes. I have seen them. They are not great. But work for our needs. I am not recommending govt. to spend enormous amount of money on Stations like China did. Indigo is not necessarily an LCC. On may routes their fares are higher than FSCs. Yes, they have many flight options to any destination and are highly organized and efficient.
I’ve flown domestically with Indigo a few times. You’re right, they’re efficient and run a tight, professional ship. I needed to book two flights for later this year, Chennai to Madurai and Kathmandu to Delhi. Booked the Chennai - Madurai no problem but the next day their booking system kept giving error messages when I tried to hit ‘pay’ on the Kathmandu - Delhi leg and did so for days thereafter. I’m told by others this may have something to do with authorisation process for foreign credit cards. Anyway, fares were increasing so I booked Air India instead (who were having no corresponding issues). A pity because I like Indigo and their flight was more conveniently timed. At least I’ll get to try their ATR72 service Chennai - Madurai!
I’m very frequent traveller with indigo and other airlines. Everything is good in indigo but it’s not good for long haul travelling because of congested leg room. Except vistara all other airlines are not upto international standards. Next time do a review on Bangalore international airport terminal 2 which is garden in a airport. Recently I just travelled by terminal 2 lot of works is still pending my flight got delayed because system are still not working many things they have done manually.
Advantage of Indigo or may be flight with such high number of fleets is that they can reschedule/rearrange any cancelled/delayed flights with their other available flights. Example, Spice or Vistara or AirIndia has so less flights that if by chance they gets cancelled for some reason, they can't rebook you or send you on another flight within the next 4-5 hours. Coz there isn't any available flights or even if it is, they are all full. You'll have to wait for the next day or minimum 6+ hrs. Whereas, Indigo flies to almost every destination in an interval of 1-2 hrs. They can easily book you on the next flight based on passenger's need.

Great review again, going to be interesting to see their expansion take hold against Tata and Singapore sponsored Air India. Small change on your flight fare it shows Room Rate.
So true about pre conceived ideas on all things India. But this looks pretty good. Another I have to not put on my list but do not Ignore. They pop up a lot in my searches.
Indigo understood the Indian Market but cutting down the snacks offered. The 1st AC/2ndAC ticket rates are almost comparable to flights. The real untapped market is the Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. If the fuel prices drop that market will expand exponentially
My father flew indigo so many times that he never realised that he flew with them over 1000 times😂. They gave him a box of chocolate and a tour of the cockpit
The distance between the major cities in India by plane is within 3 hours. So business class doesn't make sense. Indigo knows what they are doing, considering how popular railway is in India, and the large number of first time flyers in India means that punctuality and speed of service matters and that is going to stick with those travelling for the first time
Air asia india is aslo a good airline in terms of customer service and time , i travel 3 times a week on the Vecc - vebs route which is covered by a a320 ceo , rather than indigo with their atr72-5
At the time of publishing Air India (including Vistara, Air Asia India and Air India Express order books) had 520 aircraft on order. IndiGo had 548 on order and since then has been rumored to have ordered 500 or more additional in the past few days. In my book 1000 is a lot more than 520.
@@tfft I heard that the domestic shuttle doesn't provide extender. So I wanted to make sure. What's the actual sestbelt size and Are we allowed to carry our own extender?
3 n half he kolkata to mumbai flight is so uncomfortable due to the seats. Vs a 5 hr united flight NYC- LAX or Air Canada Vancouver to Toronto. I wish the non coming flights would make a comeback( so called economy flights charge crazy amounts in India anyway if you have an emergency and need to book last minute)

Thanks for that! Will change it now.
So true about pre conceived ideas on all things India. But this looks pretty good. Another I have to not put on my list but do not Ignore. They pop up a lot in my searches.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
your vlogs are really nice and fun to watch
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Indigo understood the Indian Market but cutting down the snacks offered. The 1st AC/2ndAC ticket rates are almost comparable to flights. The real untapped market is the Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. If the fuel prices drop that market will expand exponentially
No idea what snacks have to do with it lol. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Great video!
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
My father flew indigo so many times that he never realised that he flew with them over 1000 times😂. They gave him a box of chocolate and a tour of the cockpit
I know the feeling haha.
They ordered another 500 A320neo family of planes at the recent Paris air show.
They sure did. Thanks for watching 🩴

That's a beautiful thing

Indigo is amongst the safest because of their highly exceptional pilots and Airbus fleet.

Next time try the luxury trains
Palace on wheels
Those trains are a big time (and money) committment. Likely not coming to this cannel anytime soon.
IndiGo is the best!!!

Millions would be nice 🙃 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
The distance between the major cities in India by plane is within 3 hours.
So business class doesn't make sense.
Indigo knows what they are doing, considering how popular railway is in India, and the large number of first time flyers in India means that punctuality and speed of service matters and that is going to stick with those travelling for the first time
Thanks for watching 🩴
OMG U WENT ON THE SAME FLIGHT I TOOK FOR MY FIRST SOLO FLIGHT
Thanks for watching 🩴
Thanks for this vlog. Very informative. Fly and stay safe. Ciao. 2023.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Air asia india is aslo a good airline in terms of customer service and time , i travel 3 times a week on the Vecc - vebs route which is covered by a a320 ceo , rather than indigo with their atr72-5
Soon to be AI Express! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Could you do a Vande Bharat express train review? Its a premium new train service provided by Indian railways.
I’m fully booked for this year. 2024 perhaps!
indigo is currently best when you travel in india they are always on time. it matter a lot when you travel for bussness in other parts of india.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Probably the first time I have seen anyone praise an LCC.
There are many LCCs that I enjoy flying. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Indigo Flyts Very good Service
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Funfact: Now Indigo has title of 500 aircraft order.. Largest in aviation history.
Thanks for watching 🩴
hey have you traveled in vistara
Yes, two reviews coming soon. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
correction the airline company with most planes on order is Air India
At the time of publishing Air India (including Vistara, Air Asia India and Air India Express order books) had 520 aircraft on order. IndiGo had 548 on order and since then has been rumored to have ordered 500 or more additional in the past few days. In my book 1000 is a lot more than 520.
I’m a business traveller , and avoid indigo whenever possible.
My first choice is Vistara and then Air Asia
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Good - the full-Subway.
I feel proud to know what that means hahaha. Thanks for watching as always 🙏🏻
Please fly the Vistara A321neo
I have 2 Vistara Trip Reports coming up very soon. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft Looking forward to it. Happy journey...
What's the seatbelt inch size
Will they provide seatbelt extender in indigo domestic flight A320
I’m pretty sure all airlines have them available. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft I heard that the domestic shuttle doesn't provide extender. So I wanted to make sure.
What's the actual sestbelt size and
Are we allowed to carry our own extender?
Been on Indigo twice - 4 hour fights both times.
The seats were so uncomfortable!
Thanks for watching 🩴
Hi Kevin,
Is Jaipur Rajasthan on your itinerary. If yes, would love to meet you.
Let me know :)
Yash
Perhaps Jaipur is in my plans 😊 my exact itineraries I only publish to Patreon in advance. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
No sense in comparing a LCC to Full Service Carriers. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Usually takes about 5hrs from manipur to Mum, Pun, Del with connecting flights, I wonder why there is no direct flights in your own country? 😢😢😢
🤷🏼♂️
Superb
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Indigo needs to start international operations.
At least to places like dubai, Bangkok, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia
Indigo already has a large International network.
Seat selection is not free. Have to pay Rs 150 extra just for that, usually. Perhaps, for some seats, you may need to pay more as well.
It’s a LCC, seat selection would never be expected to be free (and I didn’t say it was lol). Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
what was ur seat number , mine i booked is 22 will it be over the wings..?
Don’t remember off the top of my head. My seat number is always displayed on the boarding pass graphic in every video. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
