I have been traveling with IndiGo for the past four years. The reason I choose IndiGo is that their flights are always on time. Compared to other airlines, it is also little bit low-cost. Apart from that, there isn’t anything fancy about IndiGo.
IndiGo is the only airline in India that has made air travel accessible and affordable for everyone. It is undoubtedly one of the country’s greatest airlines.
Really good review. Not a lot to review lol, but that’s the Indigo way. Get straight to point, gets you from point A to point B without any BS. Indigo has made connectivity a lot better than what it used to be 10 years ago. Not to mention the absolute cost cutting they do to bring down the prices. To give you an example, I live in a random city called Kolhapur, which a lot of people don’t even know about, but due to Indigo my city has connectivity to Hyderabad and Bangalore via Indigo on their ATR 72-600. They also have plans to start direct flights to Delhi from my city on their A320Neo. And all of that for very affordable prices which are equivalent of first class on Indian trains which take much longer.
BCAS rules in India do not allow airside transfer to happen. It used to happen earlier before the 2000s. However after 9/11 and especially after the Mumbai attacks, direct airside transfer stopped. There are proposals to bring it back but it will require a lot of work to do so. Also as for the security check process, the new CTX machines and 3D body scanners were supposed to be installed at all major airports this year but it has been delayed once again. Guess we have to wait till the end of next year to see them fully installed and operational.
That’ll be good when they install those! As for the airside transfer, I don’t see why that would be seen as less secure. Those passengers have all been checked at their point of origin elsewhere in India. Is the idea that they could have gotten hold of weapons somehow after that?
After 15 years of flying with IndiGo, I can safely say that they are truly the no nonsense LCC that we needed, 10X better than Ryan air or similars, affordable, punctual, safe, great route network and at the scale at which they operate, simply mind blowing!
As someone who frequently travels domestically in India, I understand your frustration with the queues in India. Most people lack the courtesy to be in the queue and not rush in and out the aircraft when boarding/deboarding. I wish the airline staff can enforce some form of sequential boarding to mitigate this issue.
Dear Gabe, well done and nice presentation as always, you have very good future as a Airline reviewer, which symbolizes your ability to present in such a outstanding way compared to other players in the industry.
It's a good low cost airline with minimal delays but can't sit for long hours. I have traveled to Singapore (4h 15min journey) with Indigo and my butt went numb after a couple of hours. There definitely are better options for international travel but for domestic, its good enough.
That was a textbook landing. Typically, pilots aim the touchdown based off of the big white squares on the side of the runway which are the thousand foot markers. Great Video.
Amazing video as always. With the thumbnail I thought you were going to rip into IndiGo. 😅 Are you also going to post some travel videos of your time in India? Love those type of videos as well.
I don’t think I quite got enough footage to make a full travel video, but you’ll see some glimpses of Chennai and Mumbai wrapped into the latest and upcoming videos.

Hi gabe 😊. I have flown IndiGo Airlines from Indian islands 🇮🇳 🏝 Andaman and Nicobar Islands main city Port Blair ( now called: Sri Vijaya Puram) To indian cities Chennai and Mumbai......they are best Low Cost Carrier in india and the world . They do have best seats....and they clean they aircraft very well. I experienced these aircraft with new Recaro economy seat ...it's best seat at indigo airlines through out my journey. I believe you have traveled to Chennai with old seats . It might have caused due to supply chain issues......Indigo Airlines are upgrading their aircraft with new Recaro slim seats with business class in their a321neo , lr, XLR. Hope you travel in them and give your reviews 😊. Like AirIndia, IndiGo is also undergoing Transformation Change......soon you can see in their new aircraft which is equipped with business class, economy seats with Recaro slim seats and upgraded with big good looking overhead bags bins.🎉 Please do travel on them.😊 Thanks for traveling India. Hope u have a nice stay.....and All the best for future Videos and Travel❤.. Thank you 😊
there are a lot of aviation rules/norms in India that do not make sense and are a but irritating as passengers. on the flip side, airlines in India seldom (mostly they don't) arrange hotels and transfers to and from airport in case their flights are delayed. the rules that benifit the passengers are not implemented lol
I have flown many low coast airlines in Europe. All Indian LCCs are far better than them. In Europe and now in South East Asia, the airlines increasingly don't allow any checkin luggage even on 5 hr long International flights which is shocking to say the least since all Indian Airlines allow 15 Kg checkin luggage at very least in domestic flights and even more so on International flights.
The only tip is to do it repeatedly, over and over! Gets a little easier every time. Then you realize no one really cares much, they're just worried about their own lives. It's a liberating thing to realize.
Mr, you cannot expect much from a Low Cost Carrier(LCC) because of the simple reason, it is an LCC!!. If you want premium service you have pay a PREMIUM!! It's JUST AS SIMPLE ,wherever you go in this World!!
There's nothing special about IndiGo. Neither is there anything wrong with them. They are simply the default option because they're (quite) reliable and competitively priced. I think people underestimate the value of a service that is so unproblematic that you barely have to even think before paying for it.
This is one of the worst airlines one can venture to get an extremely poor experience with uncomfortable seats. What a joke they are flying international!

Well indian airlines have one of the highest number of hijack in past by our neighbouring country thatswhy security is so tight 😊
These days with reinforced cockpit doors I think the risk of hijack in general is 0.01% of what it was back when all those happened in the 70s/80s.
IndiGo is still better than many western LCCs. Free luggage allowance regardless of the fare class is a big plus.
Yep you're no doubt right!
Great Video And Info
Thank you!
Pretty good for a low-cost airlines. Of course, because more people can afford the flight, so it can be quite chaotic compare to full-cost carriers.
It's true, for low cost, it's pretty good!

Hey bro! @Gabe Leigh Do you know Hyderabad Airport is biggest airport of INDIA according to land allotment.!!!!
Didn't know!
i've never flown home to Chennai from Hyderabad having to circle over the coast!
