So what I got from y'all is that Bege guy was effectively useful for capturing and storing sanji safely until they arrive to their destination, while pokem was there to keep an eye on Bege on behalf of Big Mom.

Why would you say pekoms choosing to let them go does not make sense? We could think in this perspective also - The strawhats just saved his whole home town, his mother and father and all. In that hightened emotional state he might have literally put his life on the line to choose not to take them back even though failure might not be an acceptable thing when they go back to big mom. He might have warned strawhats that even though they may escape now, more will come looking since big mom wants them. This might also be the reason why Bege was calling Pekoms crazy, how dare Pekoms make the choice for him as well (if they were both assigned the mission), especially thinking of what awaits them if they go empty handed.

Once you got inside you can unleash your army and attack from the inside..... I always saying that there's no weak or useless DF if you how to use it....
