One small yet important detail, in my opinion, is that Elbaf is fable written backwards and there's many legends in the One Piece world coming from Elbaf. Plus, in this chapter we saw Oda calling it the fabled island of Elbaf. There's gotta be something more than meets the eye about Elbaf and the giant tree, like in that fable "Jack and the Beanstalk" also known as "Jack the Giant Killer" which reminds me of the Giant Jack from the Upper Yard in Skypiea.
I have a feeling that Joyboy's life was very much like Oden's- A overly powerful prince who is good at heart and always wanted to cause mischief and what not. Maybe he was someone who didn't wanna do what what everyone wanted but wanted to do what he wants for everyone, kinda like Luffy's Selfish selflessness. I think after turning a certain age he decided he wanted to leave the kingdom and explore the world, but maybe his parents kinda forbided him from doing so and gave him a city to rule, but he broke apart that piece of land and just started floating around, becoming the first pirate.

The whole Nika thing and joyboy having Nika's will is basically has enough lore for an entire religion. Following One Piece could be the closest an atheist will ever get to a religious experience. The second coming of joyboy is basically OPverse's version of the second coming of Christ. Savior figures like Joyboy is not unique to Christianity, however. One Piece has inspirations from basically all religions, and when different religions around the world are compared, they are all strangely familiar when one digs deep enough. It actually feels like One Piece, the "goofy pirate manga" we all know and love, actually has some pretty deep esoteric symbolism. The whole JoyBoy theory reminds me of the scenario of the Matrix movie. Just like Joyboy had previous users, Neo ( the chosen one in Matrix ) was not the only one either. In fact he was the 3rd of 4th one and like the previous chosen ones he had a goal : to fight against the Robots ( the villains against Humanity ) and free humans. At a certain point of the trillogy Neo had to make an important choice ( when he was supposed to meet the Architect - the creator of the Matrix AI program - ) and that specific Neo took the option that none of the previous Neos did. That changed the whole ending of the story cause Robots couldnt understand human emotions such as love/hope etc ( just like the emotionless Gorosei ) and led to the best outcome so far, creating a long and successful peace between Humans and Robots. So, just like Neo, Luffy as the latest version of the Joyboy might make a choice that the previous Joyboys didn't and create his own ending for all the OP species against the rulers known and uknown of the world ( Gorosei and Imu ). That might include also sacrificing himself just as Neo did . Then, after Luffy's contributions maybe a new person would carry on the Will of JoyBoy ( through Sun God Nika fruit ) and try again from the start to create a better version of the world against the oppressing rulers.
agree. i have similar thoughts as well. i personally dont think luffy will ever see the one piece. he will likely sacrifice himself for the greater good before seeing/knowing what the one piece is, because the adventure was enough. i see usopp (or someone else) being the "captain" will be the one to get the one piece and restore balance to the world.
I feel like joy boy's story would parallel Oden, went on an adventure around the their island, established the ancient kingdom, left to explore the sea, went home only to find out that he was betrayed by someone. I got a theory how black beard ate 2 Devil Fruit (Black beard actually had a devil Fruit he didn't ate but waited until he got tremmer tremmer fruit. Theory: The Gorosei are dead. The Gorosei are demons, demons are dead angered spirits. Imu revived them and now the Gorosei work for her. The mother flame kills demons when in true form(or devil fruit form as some may call it) that’s why Saturn turned into human form or spirit form. Marijoa is the place where the Gorosei can be and not die when in spirit form. The summoning circles allow them to transform into demon form without being damned back to hell(underworld). GUYS PLEASE LIKE SO OHARA CAN SEE THIS!!!! At 9:04 the full-screen version of that cover of eneru has an image in the top left which looks EXACTLY like the MOTHER FLAME. It has a fire inside of what looks like a circular vessel surrounded by two circles which could be the structure to hold the flame as can be seen in vegapunk's mother flame. If you pull up the full-screen version of the cover, it can be seen to look literally the same as the mother flame, although it is cut in half.

So just putting this out there. Luffy and Robin are brother and sister. It's the reason Dragon delivered flowers to O'Hara Island when vegapunk gave him the books found in pond in the center of the island
One piece has just been great ever since the end of Wano, seeing the world events prior and after wano, the yonko finally making moves or fighting battles, and the current arc feels like one piece is ramping up significantly.
I think its its weird that shanks already has one of the four ponagliphs in elbaf, it being one of the bumber one places that joyboy was worshipped, not to mention that roger found the one piece "to early" having to wait for the revival of the sun god, making luffy the only person who can truely find the one piece. And its also not a coincidence that luffy can hear the tune of the ancient writting just like how they could hear the sound of his heartbeat when luffy was revived and went gear five.
Joy boy was the ruler. Gave it up to go to sea. Passed it on to his brother/ sister. (Imu) They were corrupt and wanted to rule everything. Joy boy couldn't fight/ kill them. Hence why he wrote the apology.
Just had an epiphany: The 5 elders were Nika's original crew. They run the show like Luffy's crew basically runs the show, and they let Imu make the decisions that impact the world and leave him be. This would mean the 5 elders were around longer, but considering their immortality, they could have been the ones convincing Imu to betray Joyboy like they once betrayed Nika. Like how Higurashi influenced Orochi to betray the Kozuki. Wano is afterall very likely a mirror story on how Joyboy(Oden) connected the world(wano) by spreading joy. Only to send his crew out so they can reunite the world later. Sending some to the future (toki) and others being basically punished for their sins(zunesha and ashura doji share this). All because a previous generation (elder stars/kurozumi) who betrayed Nika sought out revenge. I wouldn't be surprised if Imu will try to reach out to Usopp(the liar, like how Kanjuro lied) who is genuinely the most likely to fit that role, to betray Luffy and become his right hand man. Only for Usopp to finally break the cycle of betrayal, sticking with his captain and finally saying Luffy will be king of the pirates(I don't remember Usopp ever saying that, while I remember pretty much everyone else saying it)
As for Joyboy being called the 1st pirate, there is a simpler explanation to it; he was the 1st to be called a pirate, not that he was the 1st to go to sea or any of the rest. Language changes over time and it may be possible that not just sailors and exploders but sea going raiders and bandits were a thing, just called something else in the ancient times. Even in our world the word "pirate" is relatively new, only a few centuries, while you can find examples of piracy much older than the German/English/whatever else root word. That does lead to ask how that particular word then came to be and be used to describe Joyboy before all others, as that would tie into the truth of pirates follow Joyboy, such as Luffy, at least from a narrative perspective.

The whole Nika thing and joyboy having Nika's will is basically has enough lore for an entire religion. Following One Piece could be the closest an atheist will ever get to a religious experience. The second coming of joyboy is basically OPverse's version of the second coming of Christ. Savior figures like Joyboy is not unique to Christianity, however. One Piece has inspirations from basically all religions, and when different religions around the world are compared, they are all strangely familiar when one digs deep enough.
It actually feels like One Piece, the "goofy pirate manga" we all know and love, actually has some pretty deep esoteric symbolism. The thing about a shadow cabal controlling the world and being the origin of some sort of satan figure is also a very common theme in many religions.

The whole JoyBoy theory reminds me of the scenario of the Matrix movie. Just like Joyboy had previous users, Neo ( the chosen one in Matrix ) was not the only one either. In fact he was the 3rd of 4th one and like the previous chosen ones he had a goal : to fight against the Robots ( the villains against Humanity ) and free humans. At a certain point of the trillogy Neo had to make an important choice ( when he was supposed to meet the Architect - the creator of the Matrix AI program - ) and that specific Neo took the option that none of the previous Neos did. That changed the whole ending of the story cause Robots couldnt understand human emotions such as love/hope etc ( just like the emotionless Gorosei ) and led to the best outcome so far, creating a long and successful peace between Humans and Robots. So, just like Neo, Luffy as the latest version of the Joyboy might make a choice that the previous Joyboys didn't and create his own ending for all the OP species against the rulers known and uknown of the world ( Gorosei and Imu ). That might include also sacrificing himself just as Neo did . Then, after Luffy's contributions maybe a new person would carry on the Will of JoyBoy ( through Sun God Nika fruit ) and try again from the start to create a better version of the world against the oppressing rulers.
agree. i have similar thoughts as well. i personally dont think luffy will ever see the one piece. he will likely sacrifice himself for the greater good before seeing/knowing what the one piece is, because the adventure was enough. i see usopp (or someone else) being the "captain" will be the one to get the one piece and restore balance to the world.

(Black beard actually had a devil Fruit he didn't ate but waited until he got tremmer tremmer fruit. He first ate darkness fruit and waited for white beards devil fruit and then he ate it. But with another devil fruil named revive revive fruit and he died by clash of 3 devil fruit and came back to life just like brook but he didn't got lost his way to his body like brook so got his body back intact).

At 9:04 the full-screen version of that cover of eneru has an image in the top left which looks EXACTLY like the MOTHER FLAME. It has a fire inside of what looks like a circular vessel surrounded by two circles which could be the structure to hold the flame as can be seen in vegapunk's mother flame.
If you pull up the full-screen version of the cover, it can be seen to look literally the same as the mother flame, although it is cut in half.

Great video! Yea, i'm totally on board that the Ancient Kingdom had many factions within itself. And Joy Boy left, to help others express freedom. Which in turn makes the Ancient Kingdom the enemy of Joy Boy and the 20 Kingdoms. Now, this doesn't automatically make Joy Boy and the 20 Kingdoms allies, although that is a possible avenue that could include betrayal, or they could of been two groups working toward the same goal; very much like the Revolutionary Army and Blackbeard Pirates in regards to bringing the World Government down.
This idea is nice literary, because then the oppressed, people from the 20 Kingdoms, ultimately won freedom but then became the oppressors over time. Which is both ironic and shows the tragedy of repeating history but also, quite funny, very dark humor, if you learned the people that made the World Government were slaves fighting for freedom once upon a time.

But in the modern era as luffy saves each unique area, it may be less likely for individual myths to form due to the widespread communication of news. Nevertheless there is still a chance of this same thing happening as generations pass down the stories of how luffy saved them.

So just putting this out there. Luffy and Robin are brother and sister. It's the reason Dragon delivered flowers to O'Hara Island when vegapunk gave him the books found in pond in the center of the island
One piece has just been great ever since the end of Wano, seeing the world events prior and after wano, the yonko finally making moves or fighting battles, and the current arc feels like one piece is ramping up significantly.

I think its its weird that shanks already has one of the four ponagliphs in elbaf, it being one of the bumber one places that joyboy was worshipped, not to mention that roger found the one piece "to early" having to wait for the revival of the sun god, making luffy the only person who can truely find the one piece. And its also not a coincidence that luffy can hear the tune of the ancient writting just like how they could hear the sound of his heartbeat when luffy was revived and went gear five.
Joy boy was the ruler. Gave it up to go to sea. Passed it on to his brother/ sister. (Imu) They were corrupt and wanted to rule everything. Joy boy couldn't fight/ kill them. Hence why he wrote the apology.
Just had an epiphany:
The 5 elders were Nika's original crew. They run the show like Luffy's crew basically runs the show, and they let Imu make the decisions that impact the world and leave him be. This would mean the 5 elders were around longer, but considering their immortality, they could have been the ones convincing Imu to betray Joyboy like they once betrayed Nika. Like how Higurashi influenced Orochi to betray the Kozuki. Wano is afterall very likely a mirror story on how Joyboy(Oden) connected the world(wano) by spreading joy. Only to send his crew out so they can reunite the world later. Sending some to the future (toki) and others being basically punished for their sins(zunesha and ashura doji share this). All because a previous generation (elder stars/kurozumi) who betrayed Nika sought out revenge.
I wouldn't be surprised if Imu will try to reach out to Usopp(the liar, like how Kanjuro lied) who is genuinely the most likely to fit that role, to betray Luffy and become his right hand man. Only for Usopp to finally break the cycle of betrayal, sticking with his captain and finally saying Luffy will be king of the pirates(I don't remember Usopp ever saying that, while I remember pretty much everyone else saying it)
Luffy's secret dream has got to be having a party festival with everyone in the world

As for Joyboy being called the 1st pirate, there is a simpler explanation to it; he was the 1st to be called a pirate, not that he was the 1st to go to sea or any of the rest. Language changes over time and it may be possible that not just sailors and exploders but sea going raiders and bandits were a thing, just called something else in the ancient times. Even in our world the word "pirate" is relatively new, only a few centuries, while you can find examples of piracy much older than the German/English/whatever else root word. That does lead to ask how that particular word then came to be and be used to describe Joyboy before all others, as that would tie into the truth of pirates follow Joyboy, such as Luffy, at least from a narrative perspective.

Throughout the one piece series there are many characters and elements that are inspired or make reference to real world myth, legends and events. there is one character that just came to mind of which i have had notion of since long ago, sinbad. is sinbad the sailor represent in any way in one piece so far?
if you check a fire extinguisher, it usually indicates that it can apply to fires class A, B, and C. there are also however classes D and K. i am pretty sure a class d fire can burn underwater although it is a very rare one
