One underrated moment in this chapter was Usopp stopping the Sunny from falling down the Labophase with his plant pellets. Even though it's small, I always love to see an Usopp W.

The full reveal of the Elders was the first actual single-panel doublespread since the sake cups of the Grand Fleet. That was chapter 800, released in WSJ 2015 Issue 43. We went 9 years without a single-panel doublespread, insane to think about. Even more baffling considering how many big moments we had in WCI and Wano, some of them should have been single panel spreads: Gear 5, Kaido's and BM's defeat, some environmental establishing shots for WCI and Wano, etc.
So whats a double spread? Because this seems kind of crazy when I remember plenty of big pabel double page spreads. Like off the top of my head , when we first entered wano or when roofpiece began
@@latima123ifyThe way I understand it is that there are no other panels at all on the page, apart from the big reveal one. All other double spreads usually have smaller side panels all around them. I think when entering wano for example there were these opening banners and confetti/flower petals in some smaller panels on the same page, but it wasn't JUST Wano

The cleanest spreads that come to mind past chapter 800 are Zuensha's trunk in 821 during Zou, some scenery establishment shots like in 909 and 910, as well as the Kuma punch against Saturn just a couple of chapters ago. I actually reread parts of the series regulary and at one point I noticed that single panel spreads were getting EXCEEDINGLY rare. It's probably because One Piece has way more information density and plot to get through in a chapter these days, but Oda stopped doing them in favor of the layouts mentioned by others. Sadly, i think the lack of single panel spreads greatly reduces the impact of many good moments that could have made good use of the extra space on the page (see my initial post). I really hope that since this is the final saga, Oda will actually give us single-panel spreads again for the big moments.

Ju Peter could be a Mongolian Death worm, its a cryptid that comes out of the Gobi Desert. Its know to have acid spit and be able to swallow a camel in one gulp. This cryptid is believed to be the inspiration for the sand worms in Dune.

The classic straw hat vibes in this chapter were elite. Zoro leveling up as soon as he heard sanjis taunt was fantastic and made me hype asf.
More like Zoro with Lucci is just like those gimmick gaming streamers who does "no guard challenge" , "only one move challenge", etc. But then a viewer (Sanji) called him noob. So he went 80% serious to prove his power as a gamer lol. I said 80% and not 100% is because the last 20% will come when he uses the bandana. That's when he is at 100%.

I'm absolutely convinced that the broadcast originates from somewhere other than Egghead island, potentially Baldimore. Seeing how convinced they are that nobody can stop it, just makes it seem like they realise that if anyone were to try to stop them, they would assume they need to do so on Egghead, so the Vegapunks made sure to broadcast it from somewhere else.
Also, I only realised just now that Dorry and Broggy's beards are shaped like their weapons.... I feel a little slow.
With how in this chapter the broadcast starts in Marijoie, yeah showing the now empty room but i am wondering if Vegapunk did not make it originates from there, knowing even if they come to EggHead, they would actually hace to make the trip back to stop it, so ofc they might not do it in time, or give an escape plan for the strawhats and all

6:22 True, Oda even said it himself in one of SBS's, when asked why has he chosen such a whacky power for the protagonist in the world of super strong and cool abilities he said that he did it so no matter how serious the story gets, Luffy always give him a chance to fool around and that's the kind of manga he wanted to write.

It's not never ending. We are literally in the last saga. The story also hasn't really changed from his vision all that much he just keeps fleshing out the story more than he assumed he would.

There are quite a few circumstances that can be viewed in regards to the giants power level back on Little Garden.. Those two had spent the past 100 years battling with each other three times a day, an even match up exchanging blows back and forth. If you think about it, those two were probably exhausted back then, worn down from nonstop battling. What we are viewing now are a fresh Dorry & Broggy, armed with fresh weaponry and a new, better purpose to their actions.
Also, people need to not take One Piece powerscaling so seriously..
Blades got duller with each match, with new weapons they have gotten quite a power boost

Each Gorosei circle is shown to be numbered. Mars' is 4, Warcury's and Nusjuros circles have 3 and 2 respectively, leaving 1 to Ju Peter.
That is the exact order their creatures are presented from top to bottom. And the same exact order from the chapter where they where their names where revealed.
I find it funny that Sanji who let Vegapunk die and failed to defeat anyone so far is calling Zoro who defeated Rob Lucci a "burden".
Yeah, Sanji did protect Bonney a bit but he still has not done anything noteworthy in this arc other than kicking a laser.

Like Saturn is just a scientist with powers, but ETHAN 🔥- you can just tell that Ethan was a disciplined warrior/swordsman. You don’t get sword skills like that without training. Idk their backstories … but Ethan is for sure 10x stronger than Saturn.

The worm transformation was actually a thing in Dune. "God Emperor of Dune" is a tragedy about the last sandworm who became one to save humanity from apocalypse.
The transformation (or at least the start of the transformation) happens in Children of Dune, not Godemperor.
Everyone was saying that the blonde gorosei is most likely to betray gorosei if any does that, so maybe it makes sense

Ethan's demon form looks like a Nucklavee, which is known as the most malevolent of all demons of Scottish folklore. Especially in his hybrid form. Nucklavee are also known as the Devils of the Sea, so that might be why Oda went to Scottish folklore. It is literally a true Sea Devil.
I remember seeing Nusjuro with his sword drawn, when he was cleaning it during one Elder conversation.

What I always remember while seeing that summoning is when brook got teleported somewhere during the timeskip and the people from that place are trying to summon a demon. Such a cool way to hint at what things also exist in the one piece world.

While there is a sand worm in Dune, there is also a similar myth in Mongloia called a death worm which is capable of entering dreams, has a potent poison, and lays eggs in people's stomachs causing them to die from a burst stomach upon hatching.

Seraphim plus Gen 3 PX's imo aren't tipping the scales too much since they made Warlords enemies and Luffy/BB/Worst Gen have accomplished so much with Whitebeard dying Kaido/Big Mom being defeated Shanks finally getting off his ass. Garp's generation retiring or being defeated will usher in a new unknown era.

Did you notice the numbers in the summoning circles? Marcus was #4, Warcury was #3, V. Nusjuro was #2, and Ju Peter was (presumably since you can't actually see it) #1... Do you think those numbers correlate at all to strength or maybe an internal hierarchy???

Tbh with the Gorosei all showing up in Egghead, it’s way less likely for any of the revolutionaries to show up there. If and when they find out the Gorosei have done the unprecedented and left Marjoa, they’ll prolly take the opportunity to storm the place. There’s less weight to it without anyone guarding it past the Holy Knights (and Imu) but it makes sense. I really don’t see Dragon caring enough about Luffy to bail him out from the Gorosei but maybe there’s a slim chance Sabo could show up

I agree, but not in the sense of 'dragon going to egghead' If Dragon doesn't take this opportunity to storm marijois and liberate who they can while they can, then Dragon's purpose really is to just look east and be useless for the whole story.

I have a theory that the five elders somehow reached a state beyond regular awakening and have permanently fused with their fruit powers. It would explain their insane regeneration since even regular awakened zones are known for their healing prowess. It might even be how they are able to teleport using the same phenomenon that allows devil fruits to appear in a new location when their owner dies.
Maybe, as far i know, Gorosei able to transform into their full animal form while in awakened state, so Luffy be able handle them alone sound not right to me

Tho we need also think about the aftermath after this win. Vegapunk's message might be successfully transmitted. But they still need to do something with this situation. If anything, I can see the 5 Elders might be even more dangerous after that. Once they failed to stop the message, I bet all they want to do is to bring pain and suffering to the Strawhats who prevented them to stop the transmition. So Luffy and co still need to deal with these 5 old men before they can continue with their journey. They need to either defeat those old men, or they need to escape.

Ok so about the Pell Comment... what if we take that to mean bird over flying ability. Monet doesn't count because she modified herself. Pierre doesn't count because he was already a bird with the horse devil fruit. Stussy and Batman both turn into bats which are mammals, not birds. Also, I don't believe SMILE fruits count as they are man-made and unknown to Pell. That would give us Pell, Marco, Morgans, possibly Laffitte (unconfirmed), and now Mars.

Bakotsu (馬骨) is literally "Skeletal Horse", and is basically the idiom "bones of some horse" (どこの馬の骨とも知れない～) represented in a mythical yokai form. The idiom refers to basically "some schmuck that came from nowhere" and still widely used to this day.
Bakotsu is a ghost of a horse that burned to death in fire. Ironic that OP version seems to have ice powers.
Bakotsu is generally depicted facing a toad yokai called Yadomori.
