I use one of the Apache cases for my useless Fimi X8 SE 2020 and when I got the foam plucked to the design I wanted , I took Plastidip spray and sprayed the foam. It makes the foam more durable and it will not fall apart. It wears and looks much better.
As an FPV pilot using Lipo batteries, to the best of my knowledge battery packs almost never ever have a chance of igniting/burning when they are not being used. It is always in a charging situation or impact to the battery from blunt or sharp force. I have had a Lipo fire before in my house. I kept a cheaply made Lipo fully charged for around year and then I tried to charge it to use it. I used a Lipo fire protection bag at the time when I charged it and (major malfunction) and it helped contain the flames, but still did some burning on the desk and carpet. Just trying to make everyone aware that a battery that is not being used and that is not attached to a device will not just burst into flames. Thanks for all the great content Russ

The top level is the usual cutouts for the drone, battereis, charger, etc. The lower level, which is not found on other cases, provides room a foldable landing pad (or an iPad mini). I just received my Mini 3 Pro drone and am waiting for SYMIK to release a case for the Mini 3 Pro.
I have the apache 4800 from Harbor Freight for 3 years now. Got it when it was cheep with a 20% off coupon. I cut the needed inserts out perfect but here is what I did to keep the foam in shape. I sprayed a light clear glue coating over the top of the foam. My case is still rock solid with no foam deterioration. I do have that metal ammo case and will use it for my 3 batteries. Thanks for the video and all you do for the drone community.
In September of 2017, we were hit with two Category 5 storms - Irma and Maria. I had a Mavic Pro then for which I had just purchased a Nanuk case. Our home was COMPLETELY demolished. The ceiling fell on the case. My drone was protected. The case was completed covered in sheetrock. It did its job. Get yourself a good case!

Like others here, I'm disappointed that they haven't come out with a case for the Mini 3 Pro yet. In the mean time, I did purchase a STARTRC case for my new Mini 3 Pro, and while the case is not as robust as the SYMIK, it will do for now. Still want a SYMIK when they're finally available. The fact that you can get ammo crates at a hardware store is just peak USA :D I got the STARTRC mini 3 pro case which is very similar to the PGYtech one. Super sturdy!

Bunch of questions. The ammo case is a great idea but have one reservation. It is made of metal with no heat resistance material inside of it. If the batteries started a fire. I'd expect the metal to become hot enough to possibly start a fire on a wood or carpeted floor. It's a great idea but not sure it is the right solution. The carrying cases are intriguing. I wonder if they are best for traveling. On site a backpack or shoulder bag seems more convenient. Regarding on-site work. I always wish these cases had a sleeve to hold a loose-leaf log book.

I was about to buy a case for my newly bought Air2 S when I found this video and I liked the SYMIK case so I went looking for it on amazon and the price here in Italy is : 427,37€ ( 422 US dollars ). Can you imagine? Went to US amazon site and the price is 89.99, for delivering to Italy + - 50 . So in total 175 euros. The case I was planning to buy is : Lykus Titan MA230 and costs 80 euros, so I guess I will stick with this. Thanks a lot for the useful info and I really appreciate the quality and the clarity of your videos, keep up the good work.
Just a thought. If you put 4 batteries in an ammo can and one caught fire, they would likely all catch fire. In that scenario, if the ammo can is locked down it might explode, violently. I use one and drilled small holes in the lid to relieve pressure. Fire would come out the top and hopefully not ignite the house. I also put all my batts in those fireproof travel cases, then into the can, hoping the dragon batt won’t light up the rest of them. I ended up with a Lykus case before I found out about Symik. It’s nice but I like the Symik better. Cheers and thanks for the reviews.
Even more on a budget are Apache cases available at Harbor Freight. They have foam blocks that allow you to quickly cut out for any use. Take a look sometime.
For the ammo can, either remove the rubber seal from the lid or drill a few vent holes in the can. If the batteries should catch fire, there will be a lot of pressure which could cause a sealed can to explode.
This is exactly what I was looking for when shopping for a new case. Lots of options, most of them very similar and not necessarily "name brand". Thanks for your input. Going to order a Symik soon!
Just installed my Air2s in the case. The case seems well made. I have 5 pelican cases, from roughly this size for audio lavs up to my giant travel cases, 1650s, on wheels. This case seems every bit as well made as them, at 1/3rd the price (with the extra 10% off, $54 vs Pelican's $170). And the custom fit for the Air2S is perfect. In my case I wish it had even more room (for my controller hood, 2nd set of filters, and the 8 extra props), but I managed to get them all to fit. The little SD card holder is weird, it says it holds 6, but I can't get them to snap into place, the borders seem too small. Overall a very good deal for a great case!
Great video - I love my Nanuk 910 pre cut for my Mini 2 kit - it's as good as my Peli cases. But you are right I paid £65 for my Red Nanuk 910. To replace it will now cost £115 (approx $140 US) - its crazy in less than a year to increase by that much. I looked for a Nanuk case for my Mini 3 Pro but I've decided to go for a Lowe pro bag which I got for a bargain price and I use soft Microfibre cloths to soften the drone and controller. Works just as well.

I wish someone would make a good sling backpack style case for the DJI drones with molded inserts. I love going out hiking or out on my e-bike and would love to take my drone with me but it's not very practical to carry a briefcase style case with me. I've searched all over on Amazon and I see tons for DSLR cameras, but pretty much nothing for drones.
Dude! I have been using Symik since my first Mavic Air 2 case 2 years ago! I am sure the newer ones are better, but that thing is my absolute fave. And I am a HUGE fan of HFT; I have about a Dozen Apache cases that house all my filmmaking gear; never thought about using an Ammo Can for the batteries! Thats a brilliant idea. My son just uses it for his Nerf darts; time to take it back, mwuahahaha... Love this year's Case video, Russ!
I've been hoping that a particular, endurax camera backpack's price would drop a little for prime day. Last night i watched the price go from $109 (price before prime day), to $149, to $134, to $99, as of 10 mins ago.

Using an Ammo Case - remove the lid seal or if a battery goes on fire the gases need to get out or you have made it worse.

I just bought a Mavic 3 T, does it mean that the oem case is shit? It looks very similar to a Pelican case though.
