tbh i didn’t like jodie’s era but i only didn’t like it bc of the scripts mostly. some people on here exaggerate it a lot though and attack jodie. she would have been much better if she had someone like russell or moffat. that’s my opinion tho, i don’t think she was terrible. she’s an amazing actor and i loved the doctor and yaz together- it would have been nice to see the relationship develop further. some people like it- some people don’t- it’s not that deep at the end of the day. although i did like the episode with the sea devils.

It was peak merchandising and fandom era, and I spent my days scrolling Tumblr and reblogging saturated gifsets, watching livestreams of classic who episodes and Big Finish audios, writing fanfiction and hyperfixating on Elisabeth Sladen. I was in my last year of high school during the 50th anniversary year and I am still upset I didn't get to see it in cinema (I was doing a show at the time). I did a re-watch of the series during lockdown and I have to say, I enjoyed it more than I did on first broadcast. And I bawled like a baby when Eleven regenerated. I still have textedits of my reactions to the episodes from series 7 somewhere in my hard drive, from first broadcast. Man oh man I'm old... (*is almost 30*) PS the actor playing Canton Delaware was Crowley in Supernatural, I'm sure Superwholock fans were frothing at the mouths at that. (the only reason I recognised him was because I just saw him in an episode of the X Files...hah!)
i always thought seasons 5 and 6 were a little over the top wacky but honestly this review reminded me that the narrative is so quintessentially doctor who. ty for the reminiscence and the memes
My favourite part is where Amy and Rory are talking about having a coffee and getting married while Madame Kovarian is just brutally dying in the background 😂😂😂
48:56 I really do love the scene where 11 calls Clara before Regenerating. I love it but It also breaks my heart knowing it’s the most recent time Matt Smith played 11.
I don't think that clone had a consciousness of its own as amy thought she was with them and only woke up in the space hospital after the doctor gooeyfied the clone
The Amy clone wasn't a separate being with its own consciousness, it's basically an avatar situation where Amy's consciousness was planted into the flesh, while her real body was kept elsewhere
The Inception Alien Christmas episode gave me the one lucid dream I ever had. It stuck in my mind enough that I performed the book check in the episode, realized “Hey, this is a dream” and woke up.
I totally agree! I do like her era and know plenty who do but I am already done with seeing hate towards an era (again) that I haven't even covered yet!

I feel like this is the common take for rational fans. Jodie had potential to be a good Doctor, but Chibnall's writing was so poor she unfortunately never stood a chance

There's a theory that series 7 may be in reverse, in a sense, that he's travelling with them after they've already gone. that's why he's so upset when he comes back on Christmas. but then the doctor we see in the power of 3 and the angels take manhatten is from before that.
