Doctor Who is my all-time favourite show, and I decided to embark on a daring challenge: a 24-hour binge-watch to test the limits of my love for the Time Lord. The journey began when I asked for episode suggestions on Twitter, and the responses ranged from brilliant to not-so-great. To make things interesting, I put all suggestions on a spinny wheel, ensuring that every episode I watch is entirely random.

@sdasdasdasda8832 its kinda gross and a little too open ended. It being a bit gross is kind of a nitpick, but the fact you never even figure out what the whole thing was about kinda defeats the point of it being a doctor who episode. The end where you figure out what was happening the whole time is part of what makes the show so good. The begining builds so much interest but the fact you never figure out what was really going on is very frustrating. Its also just kind of a drag cause they kinda just run around achieving basically nothing the whole time and it introduces a bunch of plot points that felt like they went nowhere. This is just me trying to think of as many negatives about it as i can, i dont remember exactly how accurate these are but its how i felt at least and maybe im not alone, maybe that helped a bit on why people may not like it?
@@theamvcook382 I understand the plot points that went nowhere, and being frustrated about the no explanation part. But I did really like the end, and it gives a chance for my imagination to make up something cool ig lol. But yea totally I understand, I'm not saying this is an amazing episode just that I enjoyed it. The end going nowhere was a problem with Blink tho.
@@sdasdasdasda8832 well the ending of blink went to the begining of blink and tied the whole thing together, it explained why the tapes of the doctor exsisted and how he was able to know all that so i wouldnt say the end went nowhere.
Fear her is overhated. Love and monsters is actually great. Anything that shakes up the formula is welcome in my book.

I know it is late but once I did almost 3 days straight of 60s doctor who. Lots of energy drinks and minute long power naps were in that one.

I usually do a 24 hour watch every month or so, and im getting really good at it, but I did a watch through of the 13th doctor for one... And it was the most painful thing I ever did.

If I had done this, I would have made on change - once you've watched one episode, it goes into a bin and you do not have to watch it again.

I don’t want to be that guy but if you only watched 21 hours and then another 3 45 minute episodes, then you still need to watch one more 45 minute episode to make it 24 hours

Heaven Sent as the first episode is a great metaphor for what you were about to endure
When I watched Doctor WHO for the first time, it was shown in 20 minute increments with introduction and closing credits. Since my husband (not a Doctor WHO fan) was out of town on business, I watched from about 2a.m. One morning until about 4 p.m. (38 hours) before finally being able to fall asleep. A day and a half of Doctor Who, good pizza and colas. That’s what I call a good day.

So ONE classic in "24" hours. That wheel was a bust, whoever the noob was that suggested it needs to question their life. Even watching 2 parter classics is like watching one revived. The Sontaran Experiment or The Rescue or The Awakening. Ok kidding with the last one.
Classics are a far smoother watch later in a marathon when you'd get sick of the fast paced nature of New Who

Think I'm gonna have to try this challenge. Can't believe I've never thought of this before. As you fell asleep during this, I'd say you should do the challenge again. However I think this time you should split the 24 hours into 2 blocks, with classic who in the first 12 hours, and modern who in the second 12. I'm sure you can do it @CrispyPro

I dont know how many hours it was, but I binge watched Seasons 5b-7a when working on my first final project of college. I only got 2 hours of sleep in 72 hours and I distinctly remember the S6 finale making absolutely no sense in my sleep deprived state. I couldn't bring myself to watch again for months.
Hey hey just so you know, ABC TV showed classic Who at 4:30am for a couple of years around 1993-1994, in fact it was Davison era and a bit of Colin and Tom. So you know the pain now. There was NO UA-cam, no streaming service, no DVDs … just a bit of time-shifting VHS if you were smart (and a library of VHS was more expensive than makes any sense whatsoever now), but myself a few times (and a teacher at my school ALL THE TIMES) watched it “live” at 4:30 in the morning. It was nuts.

I had a hyper fixation on doctor who so I actually watched all the seasons 1 to 14 almost non-stop... And I'm still focused on it since November. I started to watch classic who. And I watched a few other series at the same time. I'm watching it in English, I'm French though, I just love English, I even think and speak in English without realising it.

4:30 we wrote it by starting with a drawing submitted by the guy who owns channel pup when he was a child, then altered the idea of the drawing, then tried to write a story about the fanbase that included the drawing and failed or it was the other way around, at least he didn’t intentionally destroy the narrative structure with a story that’s knowingly intentionally as unsatisfying as possible where no one is likeable unless when compared to someone that’s somehow more unlikeable that’s framed as kinda likeable to the audience and most of the characters.

Wait, imagine if you put ALL episodes of nuwho(cause it's shorter and it's where i got this idea from) into a spinning wheel and watched them in a random order, this idea comes from river song so I think it would be fun for a one time thing. Of course this strategy isn't recommended to be repeated for all rewaches, and shouldn't be done for the first viewing.

Interesting concept, but i feel like you shouldnt have included multiple of the same episode, i think a good alternative would be 2 and 3 parters as 1 selection. Should have just watched it from start to when the 24 hours are up. Then could have set up sequels for future 24 hour binge vids, also would have avoided double rewatches.

So weak! If I didn't have work to worry about, this would have been easy. I'm 48 and for decades I've only gotten like 5 to 7 hours sleep at a time. I have to remind myself to sleep at an ordinary hour on the weekend so as not to throw me off for work on monday. The biggest prob you had with your wheel was multiples of the same episode, that's just masochism! Especially knowing it isn't an episode you like. I am of the few that don't like Power of the Doctor so that would have been agony for me twice!
