That is all nice and shiny :) Poor Adam seems to have set the bar and will never hear the end of it lol
Jeff Stanyer i am really pleased with it. Needs touching up slightly before it goes on the car as i am a perfectionist. Just need to do the rest of the car now!
Perfectionist or not, I'm bloody impressed with your attention to detail DB and think its the level we all aim for. I'm the same when I'm working on the Gen 1 Mini's, give it all a proper clean and fix potential issues before they become an issue. Again, bloody good workmanship and another great video.
Always good to see things progress on a project.......wish it was my project, mind!!
Looks all very neat and tidy, good work and as mentioned in other comments your videos editing and 'production' are great.
Not sure when I'm back in the UK next, probably end of Feb as daughter is about to 'drop' another gandson into the world...but will let you know, might be able to meet for a brew or something then? Keep up the good work.
Sounds good malcolm and congrats on the pending arrival
500th Subscriber! Well done mate. Enjoying catching up on you’re videos. Great to see more mini projects
Cheers mate. Can't have enough mini channels

See you there m8. Look forward to meeting you in person.
Great work. Lovely clear camera work as always. Like the Alex tribute! He he.
Looking good mate nice video! 👍
G'day I lost you for a while computer/internet problems, it's good to be back. Nice job great that your fitting rotors to Elenor stay warm regards John
Welcome back. Yeah I'm getting there. I'm pretty much finished the front subframe now. Just got a few bits n pieces and a lot of editing to do😀
Another excellent video well explained without all the “yeah so yeah” patter every 10 seconds you get from an increasing amount of folk on youtube! Cheers 👍
That reminds me of the time I snapped a driveshaft in my 1425,bang no drive.....so flipped the front and held the driveshaft in my hand! luckily I was close enough to home to push her back!
Great vid !
You do great editing keep up good work
I guess you needed to release the top ball joints to attach the pot joints to the diff output shafts.
They aren't attached to the engine/car yet but yes they will need to come off. Went a bit crazy torquing everything at the time and completely forgot.
hi db good job from bob in the uk 10+
Forgive me suggesting but the inner rubber seal on the pot joint rubber that sits round the driveshaft doesn't need a cable tie as its inside the joint. And given the Pot Joints are normally in the diff casings in a car its easier to feed a bare driveshaft in from the outside and 'click' it in over the circlip to locate back into the Pot Joint. Reason I say this is I have just test fitted Noah's gearbox casing complete with diff into the subframe to check all engine mounts, fittings, gearchange and clearances and then fitted the swivel joints and halfshafts from the outside
The one i took out came with it fitted and the kit came with it so just fitted. I'm sure i will get to fit on on another mini whilst on the car so any advice is always welcome
For no other reason if you pull a Pot Joint out you lose all your engine oil so best keep them in and pull the driveshaft .. Lol...
Can you tell me where you buy your suspension refurb kits from mate ? Also the plastic cups that sit in the upper arms ? Cant find them ! Cheers
I use bulmotifminispares.com
The do free deliveries in orders over £50 (before vat) and if you put MM1275 in the discount code you will get money off. Think its around 5%.
Toparm rebuild kit is code CSK213 £12.12
Nylon cup is 21A423 £0.95
Did you have to grease the splines? Thanks DB
Yes i greased them. Stops the metal on metal contact
i dis comment then you was building the shafts that thay wouldnt fit in once built. you may find that its because the boot and clip is fitted to the joint thats why it wont fit. but another good vlog
Yeah m8. You were right. The actual cv case doesnt fit without the boot so it is definitely a different size to the one that came out. Live and learn
That is the way to put a driveshaft in.
Thanks. It made it easier building it up on the bench and for the cost of two clips it was the easiest option.
Good video it’s not right side or left side it’s O/S/F or N/S/F lol just garage talk
Thanks Dave. In my written log i use nearside and offside but when ordering parts they are listed as RH and LH so just kept it simple
