She is welcome and wishing her a great journey with TFL 🎉
Agreed!
Jen is so right about the lack of buttons. It's now getting dangerous to adjust settings while driving.
Jen is a great addition to the team, I like the chemistry with Tommy and she clearly knows her stuff.
You old horndog you!
Welcome Jen. It’s nice to have a new perspective on these reviews
You mean eyecandy
I like Jen, she did a really good job. Brings a fresh perspective
Seems like Jen is ready to go solo already! Good film guys👍
Good to see a fresh face! I agree with Jen, get the 6 cylinder. The 4 is probably fine, but if youre spending that much, will 'fine' be enough a year or two into ownership? I also agree with the buttons being better than touch, and so do most of the comments sections on anything new car related.
Great to see her; perhaps she could stop Tommy from ranting about the desirability of crank windows, manual locks, and steel wheels
Except never stop pushing those things, Tommy!
Honestly I'd not mind crank windows. I do like power locks. And there's nothing wrong with steelies! My preference would be the typical steel wheel design but in a lighter alloy for weight savings, and maybe aero caps. The steel wheel design is just so nice for working on the vehicle tho, way easier to mount and unmount esp when you have lug bolts vs studs
@@tarfeef101 so you want steel wheels but in aluminum. I don't think you understand with Steely's are
Less is more! More reliable and cheaper too! 👌
Great review folks, thank you. I do agree with Jen lack of buttons is a show stopper for me. I cannot understand why luxury vehicles are putting everything on the screens. All the climate control, seat heading, cooling settings should have buttons imho.
Welcome Jen. Nice to see the younger generation “taking over” and adding a different perspective. She’s a natural!
Is she young😳, Tommy’s pretty young?! 🤷🏽♂️
Love having Jen on the team
Hound!
Great addition! It's good to hear the woman's point of view on a vehicle review.
It’s a great looking vehicle
Excellent style & presence
Nobody is buying this to do any serious off road driving
But, it’s a LR, so u know its 4WD system is excellent.
So, u have confidence of excellent traction, when in rain, ice / snow situations, and dirt roads etc
Lack of buttons is a bad thing
Previous interior design with separate HVAC controls etc, was much easier to use.
Jen is 🔥
I took the non-air suspension / smaller tire version up Webster pass this summer. Had no issues...
I prefer the split infotainment screen, please bring it back. That said, best car I’ve ever driven very good on fuel.
Jen installs much needed hotness to the show, I’m going to need to install a transmission cooler to keep watching.
Welcome Jen!(again) lol Looking forward to the other (1st) videos you are going to be in.(and have already been in) Nice to have a new view on these channels. And hope they put you behind the wheel a lot more. As for this vehicle... I would not buy, lease or rent it unless I had fun $ burning a hole in my pocket AFTER I already checked off a bunch of other vehicles to drive. Way down on my list of interesting.
An off road oriented trim level such as the Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk would be a great addition to the Velar. Agree with Jen about the lack of buttons.
Nice review. As a LR owner, I find the Velar the pointless Range Rover. Works better as a Jaguar. It has a good (cut down) terrain response system so it’s fine for muddy car parks and icy roads. Of course it’s all about style and is biased towards on road handling, hence the dynamic mode. Without the air suspension it’s even worse off road and the ride is harsh (although good on road). If you have to use ATPC, the diesel is so much better. Those 21 and over wheels mean off roading is best avoided. The interior is very plush, but you loose out on the command driving position and space found in the larger LR products. Sell well to hairdressers and beauty therapists in the UK!
well said!
Oh wow! Cool to see a new member of the team. I can’t wait to see more!
I'm impressed with Jen she's doing a really good job it causes me to watch videos I normally wouldn't watch with vehicles I'm not interested in
1st time I’ve ever seen a Velar off the tar! Pity you don’t get the diesel engines versions over there, way better than the petrol engines with tonnes of torque way down at 1200 rpm.
No diesels are rubbish and will be banned soon
I hate the grass/gravel/snow setting, it’s useless in actual snow lol. It’s main goal is to stop wheel spin at all costs. So if you’re in slippery snow and the wheels start spinning, it takes away power to those wheels. Fine. But if you’re wanting to actually drive… you can’t. I’ve had the gas pedal floored in snow and absolutely nothing happened. The wheels wouldn’t turn at all because they kept wanting to slip. So the car’s logic just said “oh no you don’t!” and turned it into a brick lol.
Over the years I’ve learned to use the sand setting for everything when traction becomes questionable and with the gear selector in manual. With that combo it’ll go up, over and through literally anything I point it at.
Welcome aboard Jen!!
It’s a nice vehicle but no physical buttons is a show stopper and would not buy one. As for the heated windshield and the lines, my Defender 110 has that too and it literally only took 1 day to get used to it and now I don’t even notice it. The Pivi Pro infotainment system is really excellent, fast, and reliable.
I’m clearly not watching TFL videos in order since I believe this is at least the 3rd video I’ve seen with Jen. No matter, she seems great and a is a great addition. Hoping to hear her go deep on Tesla and EVs given her background. Really interested to see you guys wire up your CT as a back-up and see some follow-up as to how it actually works. Seems like a great series for Jen. I know Kyle at OOS is doing some of that, but would love to get your guys’ perspective.
Like Jen says, give me buttons !!!!!
That Jen is something he's got it all beauty and brains
I agree the lack of buttons is a turnoff. As for the heated windscreen I have it on my 2006 L322 RR, sadly it's starting to fail and of course now only the passenger side works....
Good review but for the price you'd expect a rear hvac control center a better than a 1995 Chevy Astro van. At least have some rear controls. And speaking of controls, you guys are right. Needs knobs for the radio volume. Honestly, the new Ford Explorer blows this away in every sector. Especially price.
Welcome to the team Jen!
Hey Jen. Nice to meet you. This isn't a 'bad' vehicle but I agree it's not the best value
Great review.
I thought this is her second video? Wasnt the road trip here first video?
First video was her testing out the nissan leaf on her own
@@jotinajero97Different person.
@@MultiPurposeReviewer ahh true the other one was Mary lol
Woah the camera or car moving at 1:29 was trippy!
Welcome aboard Jen!
Most luxury cars now have voice commands for things like the temperature and audio controls so you don't have to take your eyes off the road
So we know that Tommy knows her name. Jen is a great addition!
I think the boys at TFL should turn Jen loose and let her run with it and make her own style
I don’t understand you freaking out about the price of this vehicle and being fine with the cost of a forerunner Land Cruiser or even a full-size pick up nowadays. They’re all way too much money.
I bet Jen likes Rush. 😂
Wow! I never thought about the dash to axle ratio. I need to rethink how I evaluate vehicles.
😂 that one got me too
Some of yall in the comment section are wild lol. Anyways, great review ones again!
Hey, thanks!
Tommy is usually a natural working with another host. Even Sofyan who doesn't work at TFL. Here he sounds like a teacher quizzing the student. Half expecting for him say "good job" after each answer.
Thank you. Felt demeaning
20:25 …………..👀Whoa!!
Tommy where did you get your wrist watch? I noticed it and like it.
His watch looks like a Swatch from what I saw of it.
Welcome to the channel
They definitely banging
Idk why just had to do this😂😂
Welcome Jen 🎊👍🔥❤️
I've see a lot of those in the Starbucks's parking lot when driving by.
King of the mall parking lot speed bumps.
I like that grey color.
Jen “That’s not thick at all Tommy”
You guys should buy a long term used one. They are dirt cheap probably for a reason though. 😅
a hell of a look easier to look at then Nathen..... ;)
Does it work at all?
Is it just me or is the Panormaic roof way more narrow then most on the market?🤨
Which place is this?
Since women make up almost half of new car buyers these days, it’ll be great to hear Jen’s perspective.
JLR… please make these things reliable. Something I can get 200k miles without major drama. Like Toyota Honda even ford. Most people would love to buy a defender over a jeep or 4Runner if the reliability was there. All you have to do is beat Jeep in the reliability department, which is not that hard honestly. 😂. I want a defender so bad, but that thing ain’t gonna make it to 100k without some crazy maintenance costs.
Jen and tommy sitting in a velar u guys know the rest 🤣
I agree that it's a good looking car, but I don't like the turbo 4 nor the lack of buttons. At the end of the day, though, it comes down to price and depreciation. Even if i had the money, it wouldn't be for me. Anyway, i enjoyed the video, regardless.
Swatch X Omega Earth watch 👍
1st vid? 🤔 I think Andre beat you to that on the off road self drive adventure.
True dual exhaust 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️😂
This is going to be bad
So Jen, how many times can Tommy say Jen, in 28 minutes, Jen? There are the only 2 people in the conversations, lol. Seriously though, this video felt painfully scripted. Just have fun, be yourself, and don't try so hard to sound professional. Y'all do a great job and still my favorite channels. Welcome Jen, great job.
what's with the seat belts in the parking lot? Come on !
New “character”?!? 😂😂😂
You made it weird by saying major automotive manufacturer. Just say Tesla.
I assumed Stellantis
@jimbrown7261 it was in her first video she talked about working for Tesla.
Can we get button's!
Jen will be gone by Christmas
6 cylinder does not have a supercharger.
Seems like they have a jen just for having a ' jen ' lol like what's the point? Dei?
If I was buying a Range Rover it would be a defender hands down
ought to rename it Strange and Broken....LOL...what is the point when the average person can't afford it
Glad to have you onboard Jen.
The show has gone so corporate. Just keep it Tommy and Roman like the good times. They waste so much money on sidekick salaries while Doug and others do it by themselves and are deserving millionaires and Tommy has to sell a personal Jeep just to get married like a normy.
They are just wasting time repeating each other.
Drat! Roman says you’ve figured out his cunning plan. He sold the company to Starbucks last year for a lifetime supply of pumpkin spice.
Mall crawler
If you are blessed to have the income to burn you buy a Range Rover. If you want luxury reliability and performance you buy a Lexus with all-terrain tires.
I would never own one of these..
it is not a offroad car
yet it went offroad better than most
Why ask her questions if you keep on telling her "your right". Feels demeaning.
As she looks at that camera.
Lack of buttons is annoying indeed.
Long time sine Emme left, nice to see a fresh female face.
Not an off road worthy vehicle. Too little ground clearance tires and wheels are not meant for off road.
Finally a lady!
well hello there Jen .... dang 8)
it does not have laminated side glasses 👎👎👎 a lat of piano black 👎👎👎
Is Jen a smoker?.
It's about time to get a womans views on vehicle's. As a Man it will help when shopping for the wife vehicle.
Keep those 4 cylinders out of your car nothing but trouble.
Too bad, Tommy got married too early
😂
Yeah,at least this one îs beautifull, unlike his wife
I dont feel this girl added anything to the video. While shes a nice girl, you might want to use that money for more/better content. As if tommy didnt know it was air suspension.
Be nice
I hope you get the same warm welcome your first day at the new job, John.
Yeah, next time she doesn’t need Tommy. She’ll do great!
Banter between two presenters is part of what makes things interesting. Jen is an experienced car enthusiast. She will work out just fine.
It's time they broke up the sausage fest.
Yea only way Tommy gets a girl beside him haha
He’s married
@ianberry5562 I'm sure she's a fine specimen and loyal as can be
@@mblake0420 why double down?
@@ianberry5562 lol
I don’t like this new character at all, don’t know why everyone else likes her
Welcome aboard Jen !
