I'm right there with you on the 40. With pretty much all manufacturers getting away from 40 or discontinuing them altogether it's nice to see a new model come out.
Sorry.
This is an old model.
They just released the G3C in 40 its not even on their site yet. Alot of people thought it was a hoax but I actually saw one in the wild a few days ago. Almost bought it but it was $50 more than the 9mm version and I didn't want to be stuck with only 10 round mags.
I just bought this. Never owned a gun or shot one. I am as new as you can be. Starting to find my way to videos to help with my learning process.
I gave myself a Valentine's Day present yesterday at my local gun shop in SC. Walked out with a G2C and a 50 round box of 40's for just over 300 dollars! It's the perfect size and caliber for concealment! I plan on ordering a trigger guard mount Viridian laser and a C/C holster next. Will be taking a state approved C/C class as soon as I can get into one here in Cherokee County.
Awesome! Congrats on the purchase!!
Gaffney is my home town ... Just picked up a G3C 40 to day ...
@@1mrgasgas1 Completed Concealed class a few weeks ago (Gaffney classroom, Blacksburg range). Waiting on the permit now... backlog was blamed on COVID. I say it's bureaucracy. They need to streamline permits. In NC, you apply at the local sheriff's office. Here in SC, the SLED Division of the State Police gather permits at one office. That alone spells BACKLOG. I have hope it won't expire before my permit gets to me!
@@dereksuddreth8672 It only took a little over a month to get mine back to me my son's took about 7 weeks but his wife's permit came before mine ... I hope this helps ... God bless ...
Have you been in Gaffney long ???
Just moved down to Fort Mill from NY. First time gun owner, brought G2C put about 500 rounds thru it since. Great for price
I have the G2C in 9mm and its predecessor the PT140 Millennium PRO in 40cal. I love them and both have been accurate, reliable and eat everything I feed them. Thanks for the video and have a great day 😊.
Picked up a Millennium myself not too long ago. Love it.
Always wanted a .40 . This exact gun was sitting at a small ffl . Extremely happy I could find something in this caliber without spending 600 dollars. If it wasn't 20 degrees outside I'd be trying it now .
Awesome, hope you enjoy!
I have one- got it pretty cheap, nice pistol for the price- I got a .40 because everyone has a 9mm...
Wanted something different...
Do they make any extended magazines for it
@@eastw88dredd38unfortunately no .. nothing but a 15 I think
I just picked one up this week and put two magazines thru it and very impressed with it so far.
Great to hear!
What ammo do you use
Good presentation. Can’t wait to see the upcoming on the round count for this firearm 9:44
Just ordered this one from Buds as they were on sale for $239. The reviews look decent there too so we will see how it goes. Thanks for the video....t
Awesome hope you enjoy it!!
I just got my g2c 40. Ran 60 rounds and flawless. Recoil like my shield 40, accurate as the shield 40 and shield 45- as good as I can do it. Great grip, the slide isn't impossible to rack, I am impressed. I have a g3c, and rented the gx4 today, both nice triggers- and the g2c trigger should be recalled. That pull with your finger straight back- is bunk. Finger around the trigger and pull- if it binds anywhere before bang its a fail. I erased a comment, anyway, very nice gun, less than poor trigger. I saw a one piece trigger. I don't think we can say company names so I'll just keep tinkering since I already have this gun. Thanks for a good video. I have arthritis and for recoil, it's good. My wrist is kicking tonight, but it's not like I'd be shooting this daily for long. I paid $259 for this and get (i hope) a $25 rebate. Update may 20th- in March Taurus released the G3C 40. I got another one today out the door for $260. I put a keeptinkering trigger on the G2C 40 and will put one on a G3C 40. Taking these 2 guns apart, they certainly look well made and for their price I think they're great.
Feb 20, '23, I did get a new trigger and spring for the G2c 40. I did keep tinkering, just planned on sitting and watching the video from keep tinkering trigger to g3c. Watch, do- plan before you try it. Trigger is GREAT, BUT, you need a good strong punch. The 1/16 punch for that center pin- it immediately bend. I'd straighten it, it bent. That pin is a *itch to get out and I did follow his video. The other 2 were tight but I had to fight that center. Pinch the sear group as he says or that safety and ball bearing will drop. Watch the spring and it's cap to the release bar as it does jump out, I was lucky it was just a few inches. The trigger pin is just there, no pressure at all. And that trigger spring is simply aggravating. It came out fine, tapped the pin, pulled it out, swapped springs, I tell you my fat paws and that tiny spring- whew. Even small needle nose couldn't align it. I had to hold the spring in place, have the pin ready, had pliers and wife ready, I pushed that spring down, wife squeezed the pliers and the pin caught that sucker. I could align the trigger bar, got the pin in that, then used the bar to align the pin for the right side of the trigger group. Putting the bar to the sear group was as simple as the video, and both were pushed into the frame but it took some hammer persuasion. Everything works as explained. The 3 pins were harder to get in than out. The center pin was unbelievable and I'd swear is shorter than when I tapped it out. The other pins were almost as difficult. People say Taurus us junk, I say this is built like a tank. I'm going to the range today. If you can tinker, I can recommend this trigger, but if you dont- expect a challenge with that spring and the 3 pins.
AND- do you know they released the G3C 40? I bought that too. $299.
I own two G2Cs in 9mm, have carried one as edc for the last 4 years and put hundreds of rounds through it at the range without any malfunctions. Just purchased the G2C .40 and haven't shot it yet. I'm a fan of the .40 and have lots of range time through my G22. I know the much smaller Taurus in .40 will be a little more 'snappy, but I'm sure I can manage it...Happy shooting, great range review video! Thanks
Thanks, appreciate ya watching!
Taurus are good feel tho. My Hellcat is basically same size as my g2c but the hellcat feels way snappier
I have two G2C's and had zero problems so far. Looking at the G3C in 40 just for the hell of it.
The 40 actually doesn't even snap as much as the 9mm
I own this gun I am a new legal firearm owner and while at the gun store i came across this gun and i just liked it so i bought it. My private gun class starts december 4th then ingo to my conceal and carry 16 hour class but this taurus is a nice looking gun.
Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the 2A family!!!
I just bought this yesterday new for 300 bucks
Nice, hope you like it! Thanks for watching!
I have a G3C with almost 1500 rounds through it and it ran almost flawless. I had a couple ftf's with a fiocchi and a red army steel casing during that 1st 200 rounds but after that she ran flawless. Watching this video make me wann buy this pistol next week. Great video too by the way... #TaurusGang 🔥🔥🔥
Thats awesome! Appreciate ya watching!!
Man I guess the g3c need a little breaking and cleaning but my G3 full size maybe had 1 ftf but I love them.
@True Freeman100G oh, not complaining I was just say'n... Just picked up the G2C chambered in .40 yesterday... #TaurusGang... Hit that subscribe button of your into legal firearms
@@ArmedNDangerous oh I understand man I gotta clean them both. Congrats on the new purchase hopefully I get mines to add to my G3 & G3c collection. Definitely subscribing #TaurusGang

I like the 40 just found this model done bought it good review
Appreciate ya watching!!
Thanks for your review. I just took delivery of a Taurus G2c in 40 S&W and I'm eager to fire it. I've had the G2c in 9mm for several years and it has been dependable.
Awesome glad to hear it, thanks for watching!!
@@TheHide Update: I took my G2c in 40 S&W to the range recently and fired a few magazines. I was pleasantly surprised. Recoil was extremely manageable. My other 40 S&W is a full-size handgun with a 4" barrel. The Taurus was every bit as comfortable.
@Rich Weatherly Thats great to hear!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the video. I’m old school as well and still love my .40 cals. I have a 9mm G2C & I ran across of these for an amazing price but had to do the research before I pulled the trigger, no pun intended lol
Ive been nothing but pleased with this one. Id not hesitate buying another. Thanks for watching..
Just ordered this. My 1st 40cal pistol. I have Taurus revolvers and used to have the pt145 when it 1st came out. Unfortunately mine had the issue with the frame cracking.
Awesome, these G2s are good to go. I think youll like it a lot. Thanks for watching!
I just came back from the range shooting my G2C. 40...my only complaint is that the magazine pinches my pinky finger when I fire it...tried a hack I found on a Taurus forum, went and bought an O-ring to put on the bottom of the mag but couldn't get the mag to lock in with the ring installed. All in all, it's a fantastic little gun.
Nice little tip on the Oring. Perhaps try a thinner ring.. Thanks for watching!
Your video caught my eye, or what's left of it in my old age because I have the pt140 millennium g2 with ss slide. I honestly am not sure if there is a difference.
Anyway, I gave a thumbs up and subscribed for two extremely pertinent inclusions you made early on in your video, those being trigger pull and weighing the gun. All you handgun reviewers TAKE NOTE, most reviewers never address either. They just turn the guns around and around not saying anything really of value. On the contrary, your review hit the important points for me right up front! Thanks for that, it was refreshing.
Thanks I appreciate the support!
i'm still kinda new to firearms (got my first about a year ago) and my first self bought handgun was a glock g22 gen 4 in .40 and just the other day i bought this for a concealable firearm that i could interchange rounds between the 2. both have very little recoil and i love that about them
I have the metal slide version it conceals beautifully for everyday carry and it packs a decent punch 👊🏼
I have this exact gun. It's a keeper. I've put about 300 rounds through it without a glitch. I also have a G3 9mm. It's pretty nice as well.
Thats great to hear, thanks for watching!
I’ve got it in od green and black this is the type of gun all the manufacturers are pushing now but Taurus had this model over ten years now way to lead the pack Taurus
Sweet i love that color scheme. I hear ya, they really hit a good one with these models. Thanks for watching.
Just got one today. Gotta get to the range. Heard th recoil is a beast
I didn't think the recoil was bad at all. Very manageable. Congrats hope you enjoy!!
Have owned one of these g2c 40s&w for about 6 months alot of people shit on Taurus in general but I've put just about 300 rounds threw this firearm have not had a problem granted I have upgraded it some metal night sights, stainless steel striker guide and a hougue grip that being said this pistol is great. I actually just killed a deer a few days ago with my g2c 40 s&w shot it from about 10 yards hit it in the nose the bullet traveled down its nose and into it's heart dropping it dead in it's tracks 40s&w is no joke
Where did you get your upgrades
Ok UNC , you've had one too many beers
@Robert Riley (lakeline) they Carry great parts for Taurus products.
Great find and purchase, kudos to you 😎 I recently bought a g3c for a great deal (in my opinion at least), I was holding out for a .40 in that model but it never came.
Awesome I hope it serves you well. Thanks for watching.
Never knew this existed. Cool!
Same here... Thanks for watching!
Anybody know what he used to test the trigger 2:12

Just got some Talon grips for mine.....going to the range soon.
Got a great deal at academy with a rebate....an vet discount 😁 got to
find a holster 😊
Awesome! Cant beat that!!
I always knew of this but I never thought of buying one, and now I own 2 G2c 9s lmao
ThNsk for the video man, keep ‘em coming
I hope they make the g3c in .40
They actually do! I saw one today at my local gun shop
@@JodieMoody what did you pay for yours? I got one at 229
@@THACK14 got mine 2 weeks ago from PSA for 229 as well.
Did well with Blazer, Fiocchi and S&B but had major problems with Underwood (4 of 5 light primer strikes)
After hours upon hours of research mixed with my novice fire arms training consisting of me shooting
two unnamed pistols and a shotgun of no brand name I remember I still feel that this is the gun I’m looking to purchase for my first.
I just got a gut feeling this is the one for me boys. Who knows though. 12/21/23.
Comment or update to remind me. Hopefully soon.
I own two .. for 250$ it’s a great value
i just got mine saturday time for the range :)
Awesome!! Hope it serves you well..
great video was thinking it about getting one
Great handgun for the price. Thanks for watching..
Currently have the 9mm. Really wish I got the 40 instead. My bedside is a m&p 40 and its solid. 40sw has way too much hate. Its more power than 45 and slightly less capacity than a 9.
Yeah I hear ya. I still get flamed for liking 40 but i dont care i still like it. It has a very nice place in the market and was one of the only calibers you could find when the crunch hit in my area. Ill always have atleast one.. Thanks for watching..
I too like the 40 in straight up round comparisons the 40 hits hard and I have the g2c in 40 !
Thinking of getting one found one for 280
I wonder how many of those ".40 cal is dead" guys and gals secretly like the .40 but jumped onto the 9mm train just to avoid criticism. What we have here is the perfect "truck gun" for someone who isn't already deep into another platform, maybe even somebody who is.
More than a few Im sure... Thanks for watching..
Thinking bout buying this for my first gun 💯
I think its a great choice. Also consider the 9mm version as well. Thanks for watching!
The g3c is available in 40 now I was trying to choose between the g2c and g3c I have both 9mm versions almost went with the g2c in 40 but decided to get the g3c with the stainless slide.
Great choice! Thanks for watching!
Just a tip from someone who has 900 rounds thru his .40 g2c, for next time you're on the range with it, IDK why Taurus sets these up like this, but they want you to cover the bullseye with the dot on the front sight..obstructs your target view i know. Im guessing you were holding just below bullseye like any other normal pistol. You may be able to adjust your rear sight up a bit, mine just wouldnt go up far enough.
Thanks for the tip!
That’s why I kept shooting farther down
@@atsra659 It's decent. I ended up having a trigger bar issue(striker catch broke off) around 1,500 round mark. Just grabbed a used one off eBay, cause Taurus won't sell you a single part for one of these other than maybe a sight. Their customer service isn't too good. But the gun is accurate for a short barreled .40, eats any ammo and the mags are good. Only malfunction I've ever had was the trigger bar. Oh and the stock sights not shooting to POA. Switched to a filed down lakeline sight, right as rain now.
@@RecclessJay Yeah. I ended up have to buy a lakeline front sight, file it down a bit and use the factory rear sight cranked all the way up, to get it to shoot bottom of bullseye hold. I don't like using holdovers and Kentucky windage for a gun that a conceal carry. I want it to shoot instinctively POA..
You basically have to aim for the scalp to hit the nose
A 9 will put a hole in a hand & a 40 will take off at least 3 fingers. Thats how it was described to me
The Taurus 40 cals are good shooters.
That'd be a perfect EDC for anyone living in restricted states. Small enough to conceal, powerful enough to stop each threat by one shot. Too bad Taurus decided not to evolve PT145 model into G-series.
I had the PT 145, loved it to death, before unfortunate recall, supposed safety issue when dropped (mine was fine). Taurus should have reworked it instead of discontinuing it completely - my favorite gun.☹️
Agree
Anyone else pick this G2C up? I was wondering what there experience is with loading the magazine? 10+1 but I can not get more than 9 rounds to load. Am I missing something? The G2C is great, and fairly accurate, but the magazines seem to be very difficult to load.
I just ordered one. Nice review.
Thanks!!

G3c in .40 with a bianchi 82 carryloc for a g27
No I've never seen a G3c in 40 until I grabbed a file
Bent feed lips out a tad , files breech area to where 40 barrel would go I
Also sig 226 .40 mags work fine
Next is chamber ream a 9mm to sig .357
I want one, but I can't find them anywhere
Get on Buds, they have them. Thanks for watching..

Please do more videos on this pistol
Wish I could buddy, sadly had to move this one along to fund other stuff on the channel. Would definitely like to have another one for sure. Thanks for watching!
Been a fan for a long time that's a shame about the pistol im going to pick mine up tomorrow to replace my e.d.c anyways good shooting brother
@jasondurden9514 Appreciate the support. Yeah thats the downside of being a smaller channel. Always got to move stuff to get different stuff for the channel. Ill probably end up with another one of these or Ive also been looking at the TH40C to review. So i may end up with one of those lol
What do you recommend the G3c or this
The G3 does have a better trigger. Plus the feel of the grip is a bit better in the G3 version. However both are great guns. Thanks for watching
Had some malfunctions with it at the range kept getting jammed but after 50 rounds it started to work ok
Glad you got it lined out. Thanks for watching
Are the slides the same on the 40 and the 9mm?? Can you do a barrel and mag swap and make it work?
How is it running after long term i just bought this and I love the 40 s&w
The friend I sold it to still has and shoots it. No issues of any kind to note. Still going strong. Thanks for watching
Can you still get the the g2c in 40 cal
Yeah ive seen them on buds.
Okay and can you get conversion kits for them
Looks nice.... My edc is a g23!
Cant beat that!!
I actually really want to pick one of these up because that price point isn’t too bad tbh plus it’d be nice to have a Taurus that isn’t chambered in 22lr lol the tx 22 isn’t too bad tho lol
Lol I hear that. I wont lie I really like this pistol more than I figured I would. i cant believe how controllable it is to shoot. Thanks for watching!
I just saw these online
Can someone give advice on best ammo to use for this? Critical defense one is jamming; my 9 g3c doesn’t jam 🤷🏽♂️
I have both
What type Ammo did you run through it ?
i wish taurus would make a g3c in 10mm that would sale like crazy
And probably blow the gun apart lol. Jk, yeah I wish they'd make a 45 also lol. Thanks for watching
@@TheHide I'd say so if they didn't make it around the 10mm cartridge 😂
And does it come in.45 as well
Thanks for the review. I have a G2C 9mm. I was wondering how the G2C 40 compared in felt recoil vs G23.
@The Hide are there any higher capacity magazines for this model?
Not that Ive seen for the 40cal unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
I didn't have a Taurus 40 cal but I had one and sold it, I heard they were gonna stop making 40 cal ammo because law enforcement when back to 9mm ,is there any truth to that, if not I'll buy one of this
Ive never heard anything like that. I know the shelves are fully stocked with all kinds of 40 from what ive seen. Thanks for watching
250 after tax with a box of ammo im super happy
Heck yeah awesome buy!
40 is pretty powerful
In the wrist breaker caliber even!!!
thing shoots like a dream I was very surprised how well it handled considering some Ive shot in this caliber.. Thanks for watching!
3 inch barrel or 4 inch?

I have the G3C .40 and it's awesome! Still trying to find an extended mag like a 15 or 17rd! Help me out guys.
The mag from the larger G3 should work in it, if you have a local shop you could try one it should work. Thanks for watching!
Sig sauer p226 mags work very well with the Taurus g2c
I got one i like it great video
I just got my G2C 9mm in Kingman AZ for $210.00 +$25 rebate too very reliable 9mm but will buy a new 9mm the G3C a little more better than G2C

Hey any update on the g2c 40?
Thanks.
Ended up having to move this one to fund other stuff here on the channel. However, the new owner still shoots it regularly and is still going strong. Thanks for watching!

Anyone have problems with jamming with flat tip ammo.
Yeah, yeah, I hear all of you. "It's a Taurus. Game over." Yep, I get it. I'm with you. I loathe Taurus generally. I usually beat up guys that review Taurus guns because my general impressions are so canted and jaded from owning them in the past. I will say though that it's really not disputable that the G series they have been making now for quite some time generally speaking, usually work well. So here's where I'm at on that being my observation of the G series. If they're making a .40 version of this and it works and you've already got .40 ammo laying around and aren't adverse to using .40, it seemingly makes sense to pick something like this up. I'm an admitted dinosaur. I was around for Obama 1.0. I was in a world where ammo was everywhere and they couldn't give it away and everyone thought John McCain had it all wrapped up and there was no way this black leftist activist guy with a law degree from Chicago was going to run away with it. Next day? The ammo fairy came and cleaned out all the ammo. The only thing that was showing up with any sort or regularity after about 9 months of this was .40 with a smattering of .357 sig. -9 what? It was gruesome. Then of course the same thing happened in a lesser degree during the Great Toilet Paper Crisis. It's always a good idea to have .40 around and a pistol or two that will shoot it. For the price point, I'd take this, run a hundred rounds through it and if it worked, clean it and put it in the safe and never get rid of it for good measure. Why not? It's not like the hardcore anti gun extremists are going to stop running for office and spooking and panicking everyone. It's not like Covid taught anyone to take better care of themselves and lose weight and take a walk once in a while, right? Nope. When the next better than average flu come around they'll all start panic buying again as usual and the only thing you might see around for a long spell is .40.- Thanks for the video. Continued success with the gun. Enjoy it.
The G2c in my opinion is a copy of the SIG 228 look at them both
It's more like the poor man's p320 lol
